The al pastor wasn't carved from a trompo; instead, it was served as chopped pieces of pork in sauce, which wasn't my preferred style. The birria was good, but nothing particularly memorable compared to other places I've tried. That said, the restaurant seems very popular with locals, and being open past 6 p.m. is a plus in an area where many restaurants close early. Prices are lower than what you'd typically find at a brick-and-mortar taqueria, which may reflect the local market. One thing to note is that there is no customer restroom, so it feels more geared toward takeout than dining in. Most of the customers I saw appeared to be picking up food to go. Not sure what happened, I think they might have changed management. The burritos are half the size they used to be, no more guac in these ( this was an automatic add back then, no extra charge. We did see new faces & the staff is still kind. Hope they bring back the way they used to be. read more

So I read the reviews , looked at the photos and I decided today I'd try it out. It's Tuesday and they had a taco special. Well I wasn't too impressed. Meat was cut way too big and it was too hard to chew! Salsa is boring! Way too watery and No flavor no spice! Someone also complained about them getting upset about asking for extra salsa. Yes the manager didn't like me asking for extra (boring) salsa. My daughter's torta didn't have avocado either.outdoor seating is not good for a day like today. Way too cold to eat outside. I came here today for lunch and it was bomb!! I got a taco de pastor and a vampiro de asada and they were both packed with good quality meat. The asada was legit asada. It felt like I was at a taco stand in TJ. The flavor was pretty close to the ones in Tijuana pretty authentic. They both came with aguacate salsa. And not too salty at all. Tijuana tacos!!!! Lately my biggest craving is charred asada tacos. Having fallen in love with charred tacos from Sonoratown, the hubs and I have been on a mission to hunt down all the charred tacos in the area. And boy, Poblano does not disappoint. Way Way deep into Compton but so delicious. The price point is less than Sonoratown and the amount of meat is stacked!!! The tortillas are made fresh. The asada has such a nice charcoal flavor. Cons: Salsa is super spicy, kindve suicidal. Tacos are wrapped in paper, I can see why people complain about having paper in their food. The two Compton locations are pretty close to each other, and though a bit more rugged, the Compton Ave location cooks outside in grills (which I think gives more flavor than the restaurant location on Rosecran). read more

I had the quesadilla de asada with hand made corn tortilla and it was delicious. The food taste so good here, we also tried the tacos de pastor and tacos de asada which were good. Order this on Uber eats and was extremely pissed ! I ordered 4 goat tacos with everything and salsa on the side and then 3 asada tacos plain for my autistic son. When opening our food none of the directions was followed the Asada tacos had hot salsa my son couldn't even eat the tacos even after I tried to pick through it. My goat tacos had salsa on them when I asked for it to be on the side and even checked the boxes for all of this. Waste of money and couldn't enjoy the food ! Saw their reel on ig about their taco Tuesday deal and decided to take the Mrs for a nice dinner and was pleasantly surprised that it was damn near close to what I had when I lived down there down to the tiles on the floor . 2 bucks for tacos and aguas is a steal nowadays especially from a place like this and only paying 30 something for 16 and 2 drinks even more so. They have a bunch of meats and options on the side so I was pleasantly surprised. I wish they had tripas and Lengua but maybe they do since the meat was on a dry erase board. I use to drive 2 hours away to get these tacos like 5-6 years ago they were cooked on mesquite on the grill as they served you, The ingredients always fresh and honestly they served the best Tijuana style Tacos around. I didn't mind the long wait or long lines. But today was the last day I will ever go to this place. Menu has changed prices have gone up and ingredients were way too bland. Meat was not marinated , guacamole was bland no salt what's so ever and the salsa was way Spicy and watery. This place is without a doubt hyped up, and for a good reason. The mulitas de adobada are just what you need. The tacos are so generously topped with Aguacate, not avocado aguacate!!! If you know you know, the service is superb very humble employees, and so charismatic they be singing having a great time!. I will always make the drive to CPT for tacos. 1. Meat was tender 2. Plenty of guacamole 3. Food was out in a timely manner. I know some people complained that it took long or food wasn't hot.
