Tijuana tacos!!!! Lately my biggest craving is charred asada tacos. Having fallen in love with charred tacos from Sonoratown, the hubs and I have been on a mission to hunt down all the charred tacos in the area. And boy, Poblano does not disappoint. Way Way deep into Compton but so delicious. The price point is less than Sonoratown and the amount of meat is stacked!!! The tortillas are made fresh. The asada has such a nice charcoal flavor. Cons: Salsa is super spicy, kindve suicidal. Tacos are wrapped in paper, I can see why people complain about having paper in their food. The two Compton locations are pretty close to each other, and though a bit more rugged, the Compton Ave location cooks outside in grills (which I think gives more flavor than the restaurant location on Rosecran). read more

Someone once told me you can't go wrong with a taco spot that has "Poblano" in the name. After trying this place, I'd say it's decent, but not somewhere I'd drive out of my way to visit. The biggest draw here is the handmade tortillas, which are definitely a step above average. However, this was the first taco shop where I actually watched pieces of fat being added to the asada tacos, something I've seen other reviewers mention as well. The al pastor wasn't carved from a trompo; instead, it was served as chopped pieces of pork in sauce, which wasn't my preferred style. The birria was good, but nothing particularly memorable compared to other places I've tried. That said, the restaurant seems very popular with locals, and being open past 6 p.m. is a plus in an area where many restaurants close early. Prices are lower than what you'd typically find at a brick-and-mortar taqueria, which may reflect the local market. One thing to note is that there is no customer restroom, so it feels more geared toward takeout than dining in. Most of the customers I saw appeared to be picking up food to go. Overall, it's a solid neighborhood taco spot if you're already in the area, but not necessarily a destination-worthy stop. read more

Asada burrito I ordered did not taste good at all! The tortilla and asada tasted old/not fresh. Tried forcing myself to eat it but it was not good at all. I would not order the burrito again. The tacos were good but overall experience was bad due to the burrito. read more

Not sure what happened, I think they might have changed management. The burritos are half the size they used to be, no more guac in these ( this was an automatic add back then, no extra charge. We did see new faces & the staff is still kind. Hope they bring back the way they used to be. read more

So I read the reviews , looked at the photos and I decided today I'd try it out. It's Tuesday and they had a taco special. Well I wasn't too impressed. Meat was cut way too big and it was too hard to chew! Salsa is boring! Way too watery and No flavor no spice! Someone also complained about them getting upset about asking for extra salsa. Yes the manager didn't like me asking for extra (boring) salsa. My daughter's torta didn't have avocado either.outdoor seating is not good for a day like today. Way too cold to eat outside. So no I'm not impressed! Not cheap either . read more

I spotted this coupon at Food4Less--free taco and a drink with any purchase? Had to check it out. Glad I did! These tacos are straight fire! The guac was fresh, the meat was tender and juicy--honestly some of the best tacos I've had in CPT. No need to make the trip to TJ for that authentic flavor--these hit the mark. Shoutout to the manager, Antonio, for being super friendly and making me feel right at home. read more

I came here today for lunch and it was bomb!! I got a taco de pastor and a vampiro de asada and they were both packed with good quality meat. The asada was legit asada. It felt like I was at a taco stand in TJ. The flavor was pretty close to the ones in Tijuana pretty authentic. They both came with aguacate salsa. And not too salty at all. Will be coming back. read more

Sucks to order tacos to go and show up with no chile packed What are tacos without the salsa?

If I could give 0 I would! I'm so livid right now! I was waiting for ever to get our order all while it was just sitting there! I go to the counter to ask for my money back & they are giving me a hard time that they can't give me my money back. So I'm here waiting for the manager to come because the workers don't know how to do a refund! I'm so upset because I'm pregnant & hungry & the lady had the audacity to say it isn't their problem that they can return my money & it definitely it their problem! Horrible Costumer service! Do not recommend & definitely not coming again! read more

I always come here but never really pay attention to the guy making the tacos. I got disgusted when I see him putting onions and whatever else on the tacos with his BARE HANDS. No gloves what so ever. I didn't even my tacos. Never again. read more

Legit taste like Baja Tacos from TJ/Ensenada style. They got the trompo Al Pastor. Pass on the Birria, personally didint like it. read more

Taqueria El Poblano - Some of LA's best Carne Asada Tacos - Tacos Near Me - Compton, California

For anyone who is craving carne asada tacos from Tijuana but refuse to do the drive down south, this is the place to get your fix at. I had the quesadilla de asada with hand made corn tortilla and it was delicious. The food taste so good here, we also tried the tacos de pastor and tacos de asada which were good. It's in the middle of Compton, I don't recommend eating since it's more of a pick up spot with a few tables outside. The service upon entering is welcoming and very nice staff. read more

Order this on Uber eats and was extremely pissed ! I ordered 4 goat tacos with everything and salsa on the side and then 3 asada tacos plain for my autistic son. When opening our food none of the directions was followed the Asada tacos had hot salsa my son couldn't even eat the tacos even after I tried to pick through it. My goat tacos had salsa on them when I asked for it to be on the side and even checked the boxes for all of this. Waste of money and couldn't enjoy the food ! Top it off Uber won't give me a refund of $30.78 read more

Food is good. Good style tacos. The manager or cook has a bad attitude all the time. He seems bothered when you ask for salsa or lemons. Dude looks like he hates his job. Overall I say a 2/5. If the cook wasnt in such a bad mood I would give it a 5. read more

Saw this on TikTok and wanted to give it a try because it looked soo good but it was a mistake I should've know from the reviews. The al pastor bad it didn't have any flavor it didn't look like like the pictures I even had to send it back to make sure it was Al pastor it looked more like asada and the mulita had a lot of fat . Spent 40 dollars there never again the horchata tasted watered down aswell read more

This place shouldn't be a 4 especially on Tuesday! Saw their reel on ig about their taco Tuesday deal and decided to take the Mrs for a nice dinner and was pleasantly surprised that it was damn near close to what I had when I lived down there down to the tiles on the floor . 2 bucks for tacos and aguas is a steal nowadays especially from a place like this and only paying 30 something for 16 and 2 drinks even more so. They have a bunch of meats and options on the side so I was pleasantly surprised. I wish they had tripas and Lengua but maybe they do since the meat was on a dry erase board. Everything was pleasantly portioned and tasted great. Definitely coming back here a bunch now! read more

I use to drive 2 hours away to get these tacos like 5-6 years ago they were cooked on mesquite on the grill as they served you, The ingredients always fresh and honestly they served the best Tijuana style Tacos around. I didn't mind the long wait or long lines. But today was the last day I will ever go to this place. Menu has changed prices have gone up and ingredients were way too bland. Meat was not marinated , guacamole was bland no salt what's so ever and the salsa was way Spicy and watery. Ask for 10 asada and 10 Al pastor and got 20 asada 2 of the 4 people that Ate got sick to their stomach. Have to miss work tomorrow. Unfortunately I have to leave this review. Make Tacos El Poblano Great Again !! read more

Need to go to TJ without taking the 2 hour drive? Save yourself the time and gas! No need to go far when you have tacos el poblano bringing you a piece of Tijuana right here in Compton. This place is without a doubt hyped up, and for a good reason. The mulitas de adobada are just what you need. The tacos are so generously topped with Aguacate, not avocado aguacate!!! If you know you know, the service is superb very humble employees, and so charismatic they be singing having a great time!. All that equals to great food the ambiance may not be fit to most liking, and the setting may not be the best. But you forget all the bs when you take the first bite! Hope you enjoy this place! And experience at first hand what TJ tacos taste like without crossing the border! read more

Sometimes I don't want to drive all the way to Compton just for tacos, however, my husband and I went to a TJ style taco spot in LB (TacoMasa, I left a review there) and were disappointed. I will always make the drive to CPT for tacos. 1. Meat was tender 2. Plenty of guacamole 3. Food was out in a timely manner. I know some people complained that it took long or food wasn't hot. But that's not the case for the times I've been here. So long as the 3 criteria are met, I will continue to eat here. Would recommend. read more
