I've been eating here for the last 11 years. They have the best masa quesadillas. 11 years later and the hongo (mushroom) quesadilla is still my favorite thing. The staff is always so kind and accommodating. The free chips beans and salsa is always so good, I always buy some to go. Salsa is fresh and flavorful. One thing that breaks my heart is the masa on the quesadilla has got thin, the quesadilla itself is bigger but it use to be much thicker. Go back to that please! I live in the area and decided to try this place out. The customer service was awesome, very friendly and nice people. Their quesadillas are delicious. They come with pico, lettuce along with guac and sour cream. & they a good size! I got the pozole. Great flavor pozole. They do have bones in it though and I noticed it had a different type of meat in it as well which I didn't like because it looked like menudo meat, and I just don't like that kind. But besides that, the size is great and so is the flavor, kinda wish there was more hominy in it too, but it was still good. They give you a side of cabbage, onions, salsa and cilantro. First time coming to this place and it didn't disappoint. Food was delicious and prices are fair. Tasted quite a different items: al pastor/adobada burrito, cabeza, carne asada, and chicharon tacos. The winner was definitely the Al Pastor meat. It was pcked with flavor and really reminded me of the flavor you would get in Mexico City. Dont be afraid of the looks, its a hole in the wall but more like a local and humble restaurant. Service was friendly and they also have pan dulce. I really wish I had the name of the guy working the register because he was remarkably friendly and helpful. If this place was located closer to my house, I would probably be a regular. Okay, so I tried a carne asada torta, a tripas taco and a couple bites of the al pastor. The torta was on par with some of the better tortas I've had in the past. I can't compare it to Los Reyes or anything because it's simply carne asada, salad and sauce (unlike the craziness at Los Reyes), but I can say, "Wow!" I've always wanted to be more adventurous with tacos so I got tripas. DON'T GET TRIPAS! Haha! Not Pancho's fault, but mine. I've come to the realization that I don't like fried bone marrow on my tacos. And, as far as the al pastor, it was good, but not authentic according to my girlfriend. Nothing Fancy Just Good Food I was searching for a new Mexican Food restaurant when I came across Taqueria Don Pancho. I have to admit, I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was great, and the food was delicious. On this visit I had a chili relleno combo platter. The combo dinner included refried beans, which were some of the best refried beans I've eaten in a very long time, and the Relleno was perfectly prepared with fresh green chile, not canned or frozen. The salsa bar offers various salsas, green and red sauces, both equally good tasting. If you're looking for great tasting mexican food stop by, you weonr be disappointed. If I could give this place less than a one star I would, we ordered birria tacos, carne asada tacos, carne asada fries, and carne asada nachos. The tortillas they use are super thick and have a real bad after taste they fall apart instantly. The birria was ok 2 out of 10, the carne asada was super chewy had tons of fat and tasted super old . The nachos and fries were completely horrible covered in tons of the nasty carne asada. We had to pick through everything just to make a decent meal . -3 on the scale of good to bad -3 being horrible and then some . Okay so the food was just alright I decided to go here since it was 4 star rating , the reason why I gave it low stars because 1. It is really dirty in there was a lot of dirty plates on the side (no it wasn't busy at all) 2. The lady taking our order didn't have good customer service she looked like she was mad , since it was my first time there I just didn't let it get to me 3. There is not enough room for a group of 5 or more people to sit inside so we had to sit outside and while eating we had pigeons flying over your head and honestly that is what lost me sooo gross! After reading the reviews from Faith and Thomas, I decided to stop by at this place because it's really close by to my pad. I was greeted by a guy when I walked in and he showed some of their display of meals. He was very helpful as to answer my questions for descriptions of their food. I decided to order the Family Meal of 20 taquitos that came with beans, rice, chips and salsa. Also orders carne asada burrito and horchata. The horchata was just okay, it wasn't bad, just not the best that I've had. The taquitos were alright, but if you add on the lime and hot sauce...it's delicious! The beans were a bit salty, but good. The rice was just wonderful. The burrito was great and they put a good amount of carne asada in the filling. I really wanted to try their panderia section, but I came here for dinner and decided that I should just visit next time in the morning when it's more fresh, but I must admit, when someone passed by with their tray of pastries...oh man...was I tempted! This place is near me and was rated well, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was pretty disappointed, sad to say. My first bad feeling was seeing a large window painting reading "Jesus is still the reason for the season" and I got the feeling they weren't referring to the cook. Being pagan, this made me kind of wary, as if I needed to hide who I was in order to eat there. Upon entering the restaurant, my guest and I were blasted with music so loud we had to yell to hear each other while deciding what to order. My guest decided on a chicken quesadilla harina. I got a five taquito combo, a chicharron quesadilla maiz and a taco pastor, with a jamaica. This order came to $22.56. My guest's quesadilla and my Jamaica were pretty tasty. The taco was surprisingly small, but decent. Though, I didn't feel the pastor lived up to the reviews here. I am a big fan of the chicharron I've bought from a local carniceria, which is fried until crispy. This was mushy, obviously not fried and I could not eat it. I will eat nearly anything, but I am a texture person and the fatty mushiness squicked me out. I picked out all the chicharron, filled it with the grilled onions, salsa verde and sour cream and it was delicious that way, leading me to believe that a future order with a different meat would be good. The maiz part was a sort of thick tortilla I've never had before and was fried to a lovely golden brown, having a good, crisp bite to it. The taquito combo was great, as expected, but again, they were on the small side, being made with the same tortillas as the taco. I'm not sure if this is a different style of Mexican food than I'm used to (I usually go with Sonoran or baja style) or an off night or what. The customer service was excellent and the food delivered very quickly. The salsa/veggie bar was also good. My guest and I both really liked the carrots. They tasted a bit like hot pickles. I will probably give this place one more try and see if I like some other selections more. Really good food! The pozloe and tortas are my favorite, but the carne asada tacos are pretty amazing too. You can also go on eat24.com and place your order online and it will be ready for you to pick up shortly after your arrival. Gotta day the yelp community let me down with this one no idea how this place has anywhere near the amount of stars it does. Ordered a California burrito definitely one of the worst I've had. Firstly this use pieces of potato instead of French fries. Second had to pay extra to add guac & sour cream & the size of it was pathetic. Get home un wrap it only to see that the whole burrito was split open from the top and I take my first bite took the foil off the bottom only to see the bottom had already completely caved in & I had to finish eating with a knife & fork. I have been visiting this place for over nine years. They not only have a salsa bar, they have a vegtable bar where you can load up on unlimited carrots, cucumber, lemons, oniions ect. Came here to have breakfast before going to church and I'm truly overall disappointed with this place. First they didn't have what I wanted. Then I ordered an egg and ham burrito so I can just eat the inside because I'm on a special diet. What I got was mostly potatoes with an over cooked egg, and ham. Needless to say that most of the food went to waste because I can't eat potatoes.
