When my wife and I go to Casa Del Taco, we try to order different meals. Our last meal there, I ordered the "Molcajete special mix", it was delicious. Also asked for hot chocolat but instead was offered the house special drink "champurrado". It was wonderfull and my wife really loved it. My wife ordered the "Pozole". I stumbled into this place on Saturday night and was really impressed with the food and service. I had the lengua, tripitas and a shrimp molcajete. The lengua and tripitas were great. The tortilla was fresh and treated well. The molcajete was good, but not as good as the lengua and tripitas. The young lady serving us was very attentive without being annoying. To begin, I did not want to like this restaurant. I had been a customer for Pedro's for decades, the first Mexican restaurant my family went to when we moved here in the 80s. I'm walking away, very happy and full with what's replaced Pedro's. I'll start with the cons.. no salsa bar, I read several reviews that spoke to it but it was not there today. however they had a good selection of sauces they brought to our table. My favorite was the third, slight heat but great flavor profile. We ordered the carne asada fajitas and they were excellent, skip the rice and beans. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I will say there was nobody else in the restaurant, being a Sunday afternoon, I was a bit shocked considering how good the food was. Restaurant itself was bright and clean. Lots of white, so as long as you don't mind that esthetic, it was perfectly nice. Bathroom was clean but small. Grabbed some dinner to go last week. I ordered the family 2lb meat deal. It comes with choice of meat, a cup of rice and cup of beans and 1 small cup of your choice of salsa from the salsa bar. I also ordered some carne asada fries and extra rice and beans and guacamole. The meat I chose was carne asada. It was ok..nothing amazing. Not alot of flavor. The salsa bar had plenty to choose from. Nothing that stood out as amazing. The carne asada fries were not traditional..they were not that good. The guacamole was good and the rice was good. Beans were bland no real flavor. Overall it wasn't horrible and I wouldn't order the same thing again. I would come back to try some other items and combos on their menu. They just opened so I will give them some slack.. They took over the old Pedro's restaurant that had been there for years so we were expecting when they opened to see at least some much needed updates. Nothing has changed. Still the same old dark place, same tables, same equipment. You order at the counter then they will bring the food to your table. They do have a nice salsa bar with all sorts of taco toppings and sauces. The food was just okay, but not for the price. We will keep looking for a better lunch spot. read more

This place is delicious! Those of you that gave it 1 star because it's not Perdro's, and you don't have a paper menu, should be ashamed of yourselves. Pedro's closed, it didn't make money because it wasn't all that great, end of story. This is more of an authentic taco shop. Yes, you order at the counter. Why do you need a menu? It's all right there. Secondly, the food is fresh, they take pride in it, and it is off the chain! You can customize your tacos with the salsa bar, and they're served doubled-up on 4 inch tortillas the way they should be. I went in there the other day and got 1 carne asada taco, and one al pastor taco. Both were equally delicious in their own way. I'll try the tripitas next because I know it'll be done right. For you negative Nancy's that don't understand what a taco shop really is, they're going to be adding menus so you can take 45 minutes to decide in your booth. They've also added those deep-fried flour tortillas filled with meat known as chimichangas to appease the "I want a menu crowd". Casa Del Taco, keep making the food you make, it's great! You can get 2 tacos, and rice & beans for around $7. That's a great deal since fast food costs at least that if not more. And this is good, clean food! read more

This place is so bomb. The vegetarian tacos are perfect. I love that they use jalapeño in their pico instead of cilantro for those of us who think it tastes like soap. If your expecting Americanized Mexican food you may get disappointed, but the people here are willing to accommodate to the best of their ability. This place was awful. Went & had a bowl of menudo & found not only a chunk of green chili & tomato in it but also a nice size piece of plastic wrap in it. (Didnt even get an apology) It also only had about 10 pieces of hominy in it & the beef tripe was nothing but fat. It was slimy & the broth itself tasted watered down.
