Breakfast tacos

We wanted to try something new and that wasn't too far from us so of course I came to yelp for suggestions and found this little place. The service was a little slow but not bad once it got going the people were very friendly. It's not a very big place, so not ideal for huge parties but enough space for a good little crowd. The food was good. I wouldn't say that it's out of this world, but it was very tasty. It had flavor didn't require a lot of salt. The downfall is how they seem to add charges. Don't let you know for example we asked for a sweet tea and she asked if we wanted to go cup we said yes and then by the time we got our ticket there was a charge for it. Then of course like many other places they charge you the service fee which I know a lot of places do but typically we are informed so After a couple of charges here and there our brunch for two came out to like 35 with a tip, which was in my opinion, a little too expensive for what we ate, but overall not a bad place wouldn't come here too often, but I can't say that I wouldn't come here ever again either.

Dude. Taqueria in the dusty parking lot of a truck tire shop??? Yes please!!! Amazing Verde Enchilada's. Service is fast and super friendly. Restaurant is clean and they have an extensive menu. It's close to several of my customers and I will definitely be back fo mo, fo sho.

Cozy, inviting tables and booths inside.

This place is amazing! The friendliest, kindest servers and fantastic food. We're so glad we stopped by on our way from San Antonio to Houston.

This place is WOW! Dusty parking - like someone said before: watch out, don't miss jt! From outside looks like a container - but inside... there the magic happens. The service is fast, the food is delicious. The only heads up: the portions are Texas size!!

This place is phenomenal. It's a restaurant located beside the tire shop you will miss it if you don't look for it. They're open from 6 AM to three Monday through Saturday closed on Sunday. First the restaurant is spotless, the service is outstanding but the food is the real stand out here I've said it before and I'll say it again if you're charging more than eight dollars for plate that consist of 2 enchiladas, a taco, rice and beans. This establishment gets it right on all points. The enchiladas were delicious, the taco meat, some the best I've ever had. If you're traveling down interstate 10 just east of San Antonio make this a stop. This is best of South Texas Mexican food. Enjoy

The carne guisada is the best I have ever had. This place is fantastic. We drive 90 minutes to get here and it's worth it.

Great good and service. Had the Chipotle chicken Enchiladas. It was excellent! It's a small hole in the wall but worth the stop.

WARNING- Came here…read moreyesterday for the first time in a long time. I was very surprised at their new plates they are mowing serving their food. The plate is smaller and is made of some type of foam. I was a little surprised but since it's been a long time not eating at taco palenque, I ordered and ate the food! When I was done eating, I saw the knife and fork marks on the foamed plate (see photos). I immediately informed and show my wife my plate and asked her "is this safe to eat?" She looked at me a surprised looked and I told her, are we eating small particles of foam/plastic" when we cut our food and eat it? Her eyes opened wider and said "OMG! I think we are!". Just want to warn all customers that you may be risking your health by consuming Taco Palenque's food served on these cheap, easy to break, foamed plates. And you may be digesting these plastic in your body! Note to Taco Palenque-What test have your venue done that these new plates are safe to consume/digest with your food? Who made the decision to changed from their paper-like plate to foamed plate? Not safe!

We ordered a chorizo and egg burrito, an asada taco with egg, a chorizo taco with egg, and a chorizo plate. The main reason for the lower rating was the chorizo. It had a very unusual texture and flavor--almost more like ground chicken. It wasn't bad, just very different from any chorizo I've had before, so it wasn't quite what I expected. My husband said the burrito tasted good but had a bit too many beans. My son's chorizo plate was plentiful and he said it was good. The salsas were also really good with no complaints there, and the customer service at the drive-thru was friendly. Overall, it was a decent experience. When I rate places, I usually compare them to the best and worst I've had in that type of food. This spot definitely isn't the worst, but it didn't quite beat my favorites either. I went back and forth between giving it a 3 or a 4, but it's still worth trying, and I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again if I needed a quick bite.

I've seen people mention the service being slow, but that hasn't been my experience at all. The servers are fast, friendly, and actually know the menu, which makes a big difference. The food is consistently amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and worth every penny. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you're getting. Plus, they gave the inside a little facelift recently with beautifully lacquered tables and seating, and it looks great. Easily one of my go-to spots for seafood. If you're into real Sinaloense mariscos, this place is it.

I still stop here when I head back home to Austin after visiting San Antonio. This location, if I am not mistaken, could be 24/7. I know I have stopped here even on Christmas Day and they were open and serving food! I always drive thru and pickup at least a half a dozen of bean and cheese tacos to bring back home. The service, in the drive-thru, is always quick and easy to get in and out. They have double lanes in the drive thru so be sure to utilize both especially if one is already occupied. Inside is always welcoming too with plenty of seating and you also get an opportunity to eat your heart out on all the free chips and salsa they have. Music is always considerately good as we can have a conversation with each other without yelling at one another. Staff is consistently checking in on us too which I appreciate. Shoutout to the homemade lemonade too! Its always consistently great!
