Took my family to brunch Saturday. The place was jumping, but only had to wait 2-3 minutes. We had a table and chips/salsa arrived within minutes of sitting down. We ordered some queso to accompany the chips, grandson approved. I had the Migas Noretenas. Delicisous, Spicey. Daughter had tamale plate, wife had cheese enchiladas, grandson had bean and cheese taco.. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot, Really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff were wonderful. Will be back soon.

As soon as you walk in you're greeted and you smell an amazing aroma of food. This place is always crowded. So much so, that anyone knows trying to find a parking spot is a nightmare. I honestly don't get it. The food was mediocre. The service was decent. I have no idea what is good here but I didn't like it.

Garcia's has always been a favorite, but the recent updates to their "to-go" area and bar took the experience to a whole new level. The revamped space features an Instagram-worthy greenery wall adorned with a glowing "Did someone say Garcia Rita?" sign that is both fun and stylish. The lighting is bright, yet inviting, and the upbeat Spanish music creates a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. I love that the restaurant still feels like the Garcia's we all know and love, but the modern touch just makes it bit more special. Even the glasses got an upgrade!!! Tonight, Ingrid helped me pick my meal from the three options I had in mind. She went with the street tacos, and they did not disappoint--absolutely delicious! Can't believe I'd never tried them! Of course, I had to pair them with the classic charro beans, which remain a tried-and-true favorite for me (gotta add a bit of pico de gallo to set them off just right!). If you haven't visited Garcia's lately, you're in for a treat--this is the update we didn't know we needed!

Does this restaurant serve horchata? It's my favorite drink!:)

Horchata is listed as being an available drink on their online menu. I will have to check to see if it is on their restaurant menu in Schertz, the location that I go to. I have never noticed anyone drinking it at the restaurant. I love horchata…

The plate is smaller and is made of some type of foam. I was a little surprised but since it's been a long time not eating at taco palenque, I ordered and ate the food! When I was done eating, I saw the knife and fork marks on the foamed plate (see photos). I immediately informed and show my wife my plate and asked her "is this safe to eat?" She looked at me a surprised looked and I told her, are we eating small particles of foam/plastic" when we cut our food and eat it? Her eyes opened wider and said "OMG! I think we are!". Just want to warn all customers that you may be risking your health by consuming Taco Palenque's food served on these cheap, easy to break, foamed plates. And you may be digesting these plastic in your body! Note to Taco Palenque-What test have your venue done that these new plates are safe to consume/digest with your food? Who made the decision to changed from their paper-like plate to foamed plate? Not safe!

When we arrived we were seated quickly and the staff was very nice. It wasn't very crowded and therefore it was a bit quiet. The chips and salsa were amazing! The salsa had the perfect amount of spice. The fajitas came out and I was like "now these are fajitas". It was super excited and couldn't wait to dig in. They tasted really good and the corn tortillas were so much better than that other location. I have to admit that I am still on the hunt for amazing fajitas, however these are definitely better than my last ones and I look forward to returning and trying out other menu items. The only downfall was the blinds. Yeah, I get it and they are just blinds, however they were just so dirty and it distracted from the whole experience. Cleanliness is important.
