    barbacoa taco

I am addict to the Barbacoa, it was so delicious, do not miss the sweet bread and the carnitas are100s

    Tamales

We wanted to check it out since they just reopened - and the food was awesome! We came in for the breakfast tacos and the barbacoa special, and everything was so good we literally came back the same day to try the tamales. No regrets at all. Everything gets 100/100 from us. Can't wait to go back again! Very welcoming and friendly staff!

Pork tamale but more like masa tamale

This place used to be sooo good. Seems like it's going down hill. Barbacoa was flavorless and the tamales are a joke. More masa and very lacking of flavor. Maybe that's why it was empty when it's normally very busy

Carne guisada with beans and cheese. Delicious.

This is close to where we stay during our visits. It's family owned and they are wonderful. They remember faces even if my visits are not frequent. I love their carne guisada and barbacoa tacos. Try their fresh lemonade, it's delicious.

Had their bacon and egg breakfast tacos. I prefer the full strip of bacon like how they have it at Bill Millers because this was a whole lotta egg and barely any bacon, but it was still good. Loved their hot sauce.

My experience with Culebra Cafe was less than I was originally expecting - I intended to get a full lunch there, but due to a misunderstanding at the drive-thru, I ended up only scoring one taco. It was a barbacoa taco - after all, the sign in front gives the barbacoa top billing. The barbacoa was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and they added some only slightly-cooked vegetables, providing some nice and unexpected contrast for the soft pork. I didn't care for how much fat ended up in my taco - it left a puddle in the aluminum foil in which my taco was wrapped. Still tasted good, though. The salsa that they gave me with the meal seemed to consist of nothing but tomatillos and jalapenos, resulting in a salsa that was very thin and needlessly spicy. Roasting the tomatillos would have eliminated much of the water, and thickened the final product.

Los Tapatios Taco Shop - Monster California

    Los Tapatios Taco Shop

    (122 reviews)

Visiting Los Tapatios Taco Shop ended up being a great random pit stop one day…read more While driving down Pat Booker, hunger struck and I told my husband I was craving a taco. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and we decided to swing in and give this place a try. Our first impression was positive--the restaurant was clean, and while the menu is fairly small, it includes all the classic items you'd expect from a taco shop. We ordered a variety of tacos and didn't have to wait long at all, maybe around 10 minutes. The tacos were so good. I honestly don't think there was a single one we didn't enjoy. My husband and I both agreed everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were spot on. This is definitely one of those places we'll be coming back to. There are quite a few taco spots in the area, but I highly recommend giving Los Tapatios a try if you're looking for authentic, freshly made food.

Pro Clean Restaurant…read more Friendly staff Fresh Agua Fresca (Lemonade and Jamaica) Mom and Pop style Great flavors in asada meat Fresh Salsa Great experience Accommodating to food sensitivities (Dairy) Con Dish size is smaller This restaurant was great in flavor, friendless, and freshness. The location was clean and you can smell the aroma of household cleaning products. It's nice to know that some restaurants take pride in the smell and cleanliness of their business. Moving on, the food was delicious and was impressed by the asada meat which had good seasoning and flavor. I had the burrito. Even though it was a little small, I would get it again. I look forward to coming back here and trying a different dish.

Nobody is Perfect! There is good and bad when you visit …read more Went for breakfast and gonna say some great things and things to do a better job at . First things positive: Tortillas are super fresh. Hospitality was there in being polite and service . Hot sauce is very good!!! Now the negatives: It's like a morgue inside - no TVs or music on. No daily specials for breakfast tacos of value like many others do just down the street on Pat Booker. Yet most important is the horrible Coffee !!! Tasted old and zero flavor, hopefully it will change. $1.99 most breakfast tacos At the end of the day.... It could be better

Pleasantly surprised as I wasn't so sure when I walked in…read more The Yelp! Reviews are mostly positive but the one that mentioned no music was right. Dead quiet when I walked in, but there were people eating quietly and it is very clean. I noticed they are operating on two portable/temporary air conditioners which seem to be permanent so it was slightly humid and not as cool as you'd expect.. but not bad. The owner/cashier/server was super nice and I was amazed how fast my order came out. I tried the Machacado taco (dried beef, eggs, tomatoes and jalapeño or maybe Serrano, not sure). It was served piping hot and the tortilla is heavenly. Like some other reviews said; the food quantity isn't huge but the prices are also very low. So it was just right for me. The flavor was just right and it was prepared perfectly. I'd come back and try other things but we need some La musica for atmosphere here. And watch out for the green sauce.. very spicy but also very good.
