I really like their nuggets tbh it has a different taste that just keep me coming back for more lol if you looking for chicken nugget fixings then taqueria el kiosko is the place!!! It's like $5 meal for a good portion of nuggets with pile of fries. Honestly so bussin bussin. I love to bite into the crispy chicken nugget and the tender juices are just busting all over my mouth! Delicioso! Support your local business everyone! And of course their Mexican dishes are delicious with such a great portion. The workers r very kind and even though this place can get busy, they do a good job of handling the customer and making sure the quality food is serve. Whenever I'm on island and I am craving chicken nugget or Mexican foods then I know I can rely on this place. Haven't had a bad meal here. Been several times. Only once was flank steak tough (just put some more time on it at home and was great tasting. Fav dish would be the Chile Relleno (no meat). Relleno slices are great in tacos! Have recently gotten the carnitas plate (no beans or rice or tortilla's - we have our own), to put on a soft taco night at home. Very good. Kind people. Good service. OH - and flan, like the flan! They also have some good baked goods (made for them in Seattle). Happy to have another place down on Whidbey to look forward to. Not impressed. "Taquitos w/Guacamole" came with maybe a teaspoon of guacamole. Both orders of carne asada came with meat, tortillas and some onions, no pico, no guacamole. Horchata was super gritty. The food was pretty expensive for the quality, over $80 for 3 entrees and one appetizer, wouldn't be bad for a full service restaurant but this a little fast food taqueria. Not to mention we could have got the same things from a nicer full service place like El Cazador for less anyhow. Also we used DoorDash for delivery, and while this isn't the restaurant's fault (I don't think), apparently our first month of free delivery isn't actually free, they charged a 15% service fee to "help operate DoorDash" (it should be mentioned that we only live 4 minutes away), so with a $12 tip to our driver, a food truck style meal for 3 cost us $105, so that was fun. Only redeeming thing was that it all tasted decent. Nothing to write home about, but it was good enough. read more

I love that they are open at 8 and serve the whole menu. As a night shifter, it's a godsend to get something other than breakfast early in the morning. Everything I've ordered so far has been amazing, especially the chipotle chicken. It has mushrooms and I always ask for extra because they are so flavorful. Their food is beast eaten fresh, but is still pretty good if you have to wait for any reason. They are VERY fast, which is perfect for a quick pick up. read more

Oak Harbor has needed a place like this for so long. This town wants to support the "mom n' pop" places by scathing off chain restaurants, yet the local restaurants are usually underwhelming with poor service and hours. This star rating is on a Washington scale. There is no way anything thing here can be compared to San Diego. The carne asada is flavorful here and the food is consistent. Quite possibly the WORST taco I've ever had. The meat (meet?) was BURNT and OLD. Loaded with sour cream, and the tortilla was wet and soft.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. I got the burrito with two different meats and all I could taste was refried beans. It lacked flavor and texture. I could only eat like 1/3 of it before I couldn't make myself eat more. My husband got the posole which had very small bones in it plus lacked any depth of flavor. I might try them again in a few months to see if they get better but other than that I was not impressed. Those two things cost $25. It's just a little on the more expensive side for what it is. I'm pretty sure people from Oak Harbor have not expanded their culinary palette enough to know what flavor is. I'll stick with my go to Mexican restaurant. read more

Unfortunately I feel like this place is hyped up too much. I've eaten here a few times and wasn't too impressed. The first time I had there fish tacos which were pretty bland and didn't have any sauce that would normally come with fish tacos. Then I tried the pozole, highly disappointed. Once again, the food was bland and my lime was dried out. I literally didn't even get a drop out of it when I squeezed it. Best taliapia. Worst bland rice just boiled rice in tomato sauce. Enchiladas had little tiny bits of cheese, no onion or favor blan chicken (something you'd get in an old folks home. Bet none of those Mexican workers would make that at home. Will go back and try street tacos. read more

I'm so disappointed. Being a latina from San Diego california and eating at these so called mexican taco shops. The food has no flavor to it. The asada fries were so little for the prices the horchata was good but expensive for a small cup, the menudo all it has was fat and bones as you can see in the pic. The tortillas that came with me menudo were so small. I'm thinking I'm getting a whole lot for the price but you will not. Idk how people say it's good when I disagree. I would like to pay and get a good decent amount but I left disappointed. The fries on the asada fries are not even fresh cut up fries. They consistently get orders wrong. The two times I've been I orders the same thing, arroz con pollo. I ask for no salad & no onions or mushrooms. The 1st time they disregarded everything & gave me everything I specifically didn't ask for. The 2nd time they have me shrimp & rice. Terrible service. Would not recommend. read more

Honestly don't know why this place has less than 5 stars, already made my 5th trip to el kiosko and the food never disappoints.

I've been here about 4 times. They make pretty good food. But the service is not that great. Every other time I've ordered, they always mess something up with my order. They forgot to put any onions and cilantro with my tacos, they forgot extra limes (I've asked for on the side), they gave me three instead of four Taquitos. The younger Mexican lady is pretty rude as well. When I asked for napkins, she gave me one singular napkins. It was very insulting in the fact that the 4 times I went there I always tipped a good amount (due to the pandemic and feeling bad for small businesses). Other than that food was alright. read more

I went there and order a pastor burrito and asanda torta. We paid and left to realize they put asada in the burrito and then pastor in the "torta" and I put that in quotes because I still don't know what she gave me instead. So we drove back and told her the mistake and after going back and forth a few times she wrote down what the order was suppose to be and told us we'd have to pay the difference because what she gave us was less than the torta?? Okay whatever so then she comes back and asks to see the torta and I showed her and said it's not a torta idk what it is and she ask if she could have it. 1 during this pandemic I don't think it wise for a any place of business that deals with food to take something back after giving it out especially when it is going to be thrown away 2 why do you need to see it. I told you what was wrong fix it BUT I said okay and gave it back. She then came back with the correct food handed it to us and proceed to ask if she could also have the burrito that had asada in it back, she said that the cooks wanted to see how they messed up....
