I know the whole premise of going to a bar is to have your drinks made for you, but I like the idea of being able to try heaps of drinks and it being up to me.
I got to Taps at about 7.30 on a Wednesday and it was nice and busy. The bar had a good buzz to it. There were groups of people at most tables. They were drinking, eating chicken wings and playing games. I love a venue that has games available. I don't know why, but it makes me all excited - it's probably the natural winner in me.
We added cash to our token, which got us three drinks each. I was super happy because they have Stowford Press which is one of my favourite ciders, and the ability to go and get a drink when I wanted one was awesome.
After a couple of pints, we entered into a game of genga, which turned out to be a pretty epic game actually (24 completely levels - I know, amazing).
I know it's gimmicky, but I liked pouring my own pints and exploring the different beers available. As it was super reasonably priced, I can see myself heading back and doing a mini tasting. It's a cool concept and I like that if you tried one beer, and didn't like it, you can just move on to the next one. read more
