Among the Brisbane craft beer scene, this place is one of our preferred. The entire beer line-up is good, the staff is helpful and friendly, and they serve delicious food that goes great with beer. They even have an excellent porter! Overall, great vibe and Newstead Brewing is cozier than most breweries too. Mid-week dinner specials. Great date place.

We came. We drank (1) glass of cider each. We longingly admired the yorkshire puddings being delivered to the table behind us. We ordered (far too much) and conquered (almost. Meeting at Newstead Brewing Co for lunch was the plan. My friend and I took our seats in this open warehouse-style eatery with the brewing vats to our left. To our right, an open kitchen with chefs busily preparing the lunch menu and the bar adjacent. We'd decided upon this venue purely based on their Johnno Cider. It's sharp and crisp taste is just how I like my cider. No unnecessary sugary sweet business here. The food menu leans towards a great pub-style offering with an American-slant: burgers, pizzas and sides like Jalapeno poppers. Between us we ordered the Corned Beef Sanga (corned beef, coleslaw in a brioche bun), mac and cheese, the roasted cauliflower and spinach salads, the seafood gumbo and jalapeno poppers. No we couldn't resist ordering the donuts for dessert either. My favourite was the salad. No seriously. They'd spiced that cauliflower to perfection and it was actually quite a lovely combo with the corned beef from my sandwich. It's a prime location for after work drinks, Friday knock off drinks or your bloke's bromance to unfold.

I've been a few times now since NBC opened. I went for the beer and stayed for the food. You should defs get the ham hock terrine to start. The chicken mac cheese is amazing. Although not sure about the butane finish on top - it always taste butaney to me. [this may be off the menu now?] Recently I had the stuffed zucchini flowers with goats cheese. OMG Francine, these were amaze. Wash down with one of their 10-at-any-one-time brewed beers, and make sure you use the dyson taps in the bathroom before you go!

This is a very nice brewery pub. We had a sample paddle each of their own brews and they were very nice. They also had several guest beers as well. We so tried the meat platter and it was ok. The olives however were terrible. By lunchtime the place was packed.

Went for a Sunday lunch here for a group of girl friends. What and ideal setting for Sunday afternoon activities. Great meals to share between a few of your accompanied by their own brew beer. We had the pizza with a side of pumpkin and feta. Note able mention must go to the sweet potato fries accompanied with a delicious Aoli. A lot of variety on the menu with snacks, tapas, mains and sides all available. If sharing meals it is very easy on the pocket. Great place to take out of towners or locals, with nothing quite like it in the area. Overall a brilliant lunch with a great tasting paddle of beers to wash it down.

Sweet potato chips were to die for. Pork belly was lacking as were the buffalo wings. Good venue for drinks

Was told about this place by a friend, driven past this place so many times didn't even know it was there. I really liked the decor , kitchen& bar on one side , the micro brewery on the other side, bey impressive . The service good, food fantastic , we ordered the fries with aolie , and the cous cous dish, which was nothing I have ever tasted before, but was yum. For my friend the " Diablo " cocktail , which kicked ass, I had the home brew , which was also kick ass, I will defiantly be back, a really nice place to chill.

Many of you may remember its previous incarnation of the dodgy Mustang bar, but gone are the sticky floors, childlike clientele and (unfortunately) the pool tables of old. It has been replaced with a relaxed but moody downstairs, industrial lighting teamed with leather couches add to the atmosphere in the dining hall. Here you can get some typical North American pub grub teamed with a lottery of 23 rotating ales on the back wall. I had the pig & fig pizza which was tasty and a decent size, you could as share it... My dining partners had the piggy back ribs & the pulled pork roll which they though the meat was perhaps a little mushy, whilst also still tasty. Downstairs from time to time you'll also have live music on stage as well as access to a shuffle board game plus a giant mammoth to go with its name sake... Once you wander upstairs, that's where the stark contrast happens, it's like a vibrant tropical courtyard garden popping with colour and an airy feel, the lounging areas are great as is the view onto the busy-ness of Anne street. You can also keep yourself occupied whilst drinking up here with bocci on the "lawn" and giant Jenga. All in all, I think it's got a great vibe & I'll be back!

We also tried one of the pizza's as was a bit disappointed as the dough in the centre was raw. Craft beers were delicious but the descriptions did not always match up with what we were tasting. The place was really clean, but the bathrooms need some ventilation. Feel bad for the mammoth in the room, it definitely has seen better days.

I got to Taps at about 7.30 on a Wednesday and it was nice and busy. The bar had a good buzz to it. There were groups of people at most tables. They were drinking, eating chicken wings and playing games. I love a venue that has games available. I don't know why, but it makes me all excited - it's probably the natural winner in me. We added cash to our token, which got us three drinks each. I was super happy because they have Stowford Press which is one of my favourite ciders, and the ability to go and get a drink when I wanted one was awesome. After a couple of pints, we entered into a game of genga, which turned out to be a pretty epic game actually (24 completely levels - I know, amazing). I know it's gimmicky, but I liked pouring my own pints and exploring the different beers available. As it was super reasonably priced, I can see myself heading back and doing a mini tasting. It's a cool concept and I like that if you tried one beer, and didn't like it, you can just move on to the next one.

In my pocket, come on!", well, that's how I feel about Bloodhound. I've been there a few times now, and I am always greeted with smiles and genuine pleasantries from the team. My first time I sat at the bar, worked on my phone and casually chatted to Alice the bartender. I sipped my first sip of the incredible Willie Smiths cider (TAS) and was wowed by their stupidly extensive beer menu. Next time I popped in with my mum and housemate. We grabbed our drinks at sat the window, chatting away and had a grand 'ole time. Mother dearest enjoyed a few glasses of tempranillo and L and I tucked into pints of cider. After watching and hearing the team deal with an incredibly rude and offensive customer, I was really impressed with them. They were calm, honest and didn't let it get to them. My next visit was with a friend of mine. We sat at the bar, enjoyed some very good banter about espresso martini's and sunk some pints. They were doing 25% everything in a bottle, so I jumped on it and tried another Willie Smiths. YUM. I've since been back twice with two different friends and I just love it. They spice their own rum, they do buy one get one free tacos on a Tuesday and they have a whole upstairs that I'm yet to even explore. The crowd are cool, the booze is great but hats off to the team, because they really make this venue!
