I have always loved this place the crispy chicken with my favorite snow bubble is the best treat I can get. The food is good and drinks awesome customer service is lacking but it's a nice place to relax and they even have board games available to play. Bring your friends and just kick back . read more

I'm pretty new to the whole Boba drink thing, so speaking as a rookie, I really like this stuff. Lots of options and pretty fast service. It wouldn't hurt them to get some new chairs (the fabric is getting a little grody looking) and their prices seem a bit high for what you're getting. But if you've got 5 bucks to spend and you're getting it to go, I'd give it a try. read more

I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels neglected while entering this shop. I used to come here for the milk tea and thai tea. I see the owner a couple times a week but i never get greeted with a smile or a "hi". Maybe cuz he doesn't speak english but a smile is a universal greeting all around. The drinks used to be good but after awhile its started to taste watered down. Lacks flavor. I might as well make my own cup of simple syrup with ice added into it. I shun away after disappointments from the drinks and the service. I'll just make my own thai tea at home. Tastes ten times better and im a happy customer. read more

This is a typical Tapioca Express. Don't expect exceptional service, drinks, or food. Their basic Jasmine milk tea is a bit bland. Their popcorn chicken was really dark, so they probably used very old oil. On the plus side, I really love their warm Almond & Hazelnut milk teas. They remind me of a warm mocha. read more

To be honest: 1) Customer Service sucks, teen girls working there with mean mugging faces. No friendly vibe there. 2) ALWAYS out of popcorn chicken! ALWAYS... 3) One specific drink tastes different on different days, although it's the same drink that I order all the time. 4) They don't ever sincerely apologize to their customers whenever they mess up on their end or continuously out of things on their menu. If you're always out of one thing for more than 3 days, why not just take it off the menu, instead of having customers like me with high hopes that you'll have it, leave me to be really really really disappointed that you don't. Other than that, I gave them two stars because 1) their milk tea is good when it's on a good day (taste different all the time, you're only lucky if someone good makes it) and 2) location is near so it makes it convenient to stop by and order something refreshing to drink. ***Do they even read these reviews? If so, I've seen no changes at all after going there for nearly 2 years.*** read more

This place is cute and small. It's located in a strip mall near a Thai restaurant and a coffee shop. There's plenty of parking so no worries on trying to batle other cars for spots. I usually order the thai tea with mixed small and large boba and my kids usually order the strawberry snow bubble but without the boba. The large sizes are huge and the boba is good. Service is awesome. They are friendly. If you want to just hang out and enjoy your beverage or snacks, you can. They have wifi too so you can surf on your computer while relaxing. I wish they had a tv still so you can enjoy whatever nonsense is on at the time. I love this place for its cleanliness, location, variety, atmosphere and friendliness. There aren't many places like this anymore. read more

Fresh Avocado Smoothie ...with pearl. Yum! This is my new go-to local TapEx. It's no different from any other Tapioca Express, the interior is meh, but the location is key for me!!! Just a few steps away from my children's martial arts place, this Tapioca Express will become my hold grail spot for my mid-afternoon smoothie/milk tea. There's nothing more refreshing than a boba drink on these hot toasty afternoons while waiting for your child to get out of martial arts. Seriously. Tapioca Express is making a killing at this location.... read more

Terrible customer service that female there had attitude like no tmr every time I come in she always gives me a hard time. She had an off the shoulder tank top which is a violation with health safety at a food place. I don't know whose allowing her to work there like that but I'm not coming back and I've been coming here for 10+ years read more

I'm obsessed with this place and I have been since freshman year of highschool. I'm 23 now. I would come after school to get cream cheese wontons (the best in Elk Grove including all Chinese places) & a boba tea. I looooove this place Idk why they only have 4 stars read more

This place is right by my house, and 'convenient' on my way home from work everyday :) The place is very clean, drinks are consistent, and service is solid. I like their free wifi, and the TV seems to always be tuned to something I like.. strange.. Great place.. will keep on coming! Thanks Eric for the service! read more

First off, drinks are made with powder and syrups, no fresh fruits. Staff are ALWAYS RUDE. I'm not sure of her name, but she's tall and Asian with glasses...always has an attitude to not just the customers but the rest of the staff. There are so many other boba places so take the time to stop at another location and not this one for your own satisfaction. read more

Large selection of drinks to choose from. Very reasonably and fairly priced. Great sizes. I like the blueberry tea with tapoica boba. Awesome portion sizes of boba. I got a discount and 2 free drinks. The waiter allowed me to change my drink although they already made it. read more

They make the drinks pretty quickly and I love that there is hardly a line. I like that the plaza has ample parking which helps when you just want to grab a drink and go. The free wi-fi is convenient if/when I need to study and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. read more

My first time here, I was actually driving through the lot and saw people walking around with the boba drinks in their hands. It was a pretty quick transaction. The list of flavors on their menu were way too long, which I guess is a good thing, but I didn't feel like reading the entire menu so I just asked for avocado. The lady asked me what size and with tapioca or jelly. She was nice, no big deal. It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday afternoon. The place was clean, I didn't spend much time in there so if I wanna compare this spot to other boba joints, then this is A-OK. No fireworks here, but the drink was alright. My total for a large drink with boba came out to $5.22. That's kind of a grip, right? Oh well... read more

Since this is your typical Tapioca Express its kind of hard to write a review. I do visit this location a few times a month (get a stamp card- after 10 stamps you'll get a free drink). This place is clean and stocked with board games and a tv to pass the time. Service is always quick and friendly. The menu is the same as any other TapEx- boba teas, snow bubbles and fried snacks. Drinks can be a little on the sweeter side sometimes- especially the hot milk tea (just ask for it half sweet). My boyfriend used to work at a Tap-Ex and finds sometimes this location does not have or make all the things they could. If you like boba this is the only place in Natomas and the surrounding area. Stop in for a visit, maybe I'll see ya there! read more

After hanging out by the pool all day was in need of boba break. My cousins guy decided that Tapioca Express was much needed and close by. The menu is pretty good size just got boba with lots of flavors and different styles. The styles diverse from you normal boba tea, smoothies, teas, and more. I settle on mango smoothie with boba balls. I enjoy the smoothie it was refreshing after long day in the sun. More so love the depth of flavor really taste the mango with every sip. The boba balls were medium in size. Nice, moist, and gave you good amount. The prices were very reasonable but norm for boba. Sure place that would come back again too try more flavors and different styles. read more

I'm currently obsessed with this place. This location of the chain has always been quick with the service. The passion fruit snow bubble and lychee green tea with large bobas are great. I have not had any of the food yet, but I'd be willing to try it. I will keep coming back for the drinks, though. read more

I loved the Passion Fruit Green Tea w/ Pearls here, it was the perfect amount of sweetness. This location is out of my area but I'd definitely come back here again, it was over all very busy but I'd understand why and there aren't any stores that sell BMT where I live unlike the Bay Area! :( read more

Boba was pretty good. I'm originally from southern California so I can be quite picky. I think I found a place to hold me over until I go back home. My usual drink is the almond milk tea with boba. The one here unfortunately didn't have much almond flavor but the boba itself was pretty good. read more

This is a chain so there really isn't anything particularly special about it. It is a good place to get boba or smoothy or a snack at a reasonable price. This location was in a strip mall with a lot of parking. There were a few tables but there shouldn't be any trouble finding a spot as most people got their drinks to go. Service was friendly and fast. read more

This is one of the few boba places that are close to me. It's not as good as the tapioca express on stockton blvd., but I'll take what I can get. The popcorn shrimp from here is delicious. read more

This place introduced me to my first boba drink. And it opened a door to all kinds of experimentations. I'm grateful for these guys. They have the normal boba drinks with plentiful toppings and the like. There's also a food menu but were haven't gotten anything food related yet. Overall the ambience is nice. read more

Oh man. I'm pretty picky when it comes to bubble tea. I want a strong tea base, and I like a very chocolatey chocolate milk. When it comes to that, TapEx never disappoints. I do have one complaint though ... I don't normally want my drink on ice. It's cheating, I feel. I don't want a cup full of ice; I want a cup full of boba and milk tea! My fault I guess for not specifying, but I've been to other TapEx locations where the default isn't a drink on ice. Oh well. And as others have pointed out, sure, they could be friendlier. But you know what, I'm not there to make friends or anything. I just want my bubble tea -- and on that, they do deliver. And how can you argue with their pricing? $2.79 for a small boba? So much better than the $4 on average here in Portland. read more

I go to this location regularly and they never seem to fail me with their popcorn chicken. I'm a huge fan of snow drinks and in my many years of boba drinking have realized that not all locations offer the snow option. This specific location is placed strategically close to the sleep train arena so you can grab a boba drink before going to watch the Sacramento Kings win. It's also a pretty chill spot to hang out with a few friends with individual leather seats that you sink into while drinking your boba. The location also offers board games to play while you enjoy your drink and choice of snack. Be sure to grab a stamp card after 10 drinks your next drink is on them! Friendly service they offered me a cup holder (holds 4 cups) when I ordered 2 drinks. Must try popcorn chicken (you can add the level of spiciness yourself near the counter) Customize your drinks with different jellies, small or large bobas, and different fruit flavors. read more

I am not a big fan of their selection of teas , but there are only few that I always order : Chai Milk Tea , and Taro Milk Tea. The problem I have with this place is not the menu , but one of their staff members who is horribly unfriendly . Every time I come in , one of the girls ask me repeatedly to show her my Rapid Responder badge so I can get the discount . I told her on few occasions if it's so difficult to remember my face , but she speechlessly just slammed my tea on the countertop and then walked away with disgruntled looking face . Every time I walked in she is mean to me and always questions my credibility on getting the discount even though I am qualified by being a rapid responder . Instead of her thanking me for contributing to the community as being on the frontlines against Covid 19 , she undermines my credibility and sometimes even refuses to give me a discount . She also works at T4 and does the same thing . Every time I show up in either places , she is questioning me about showing her my badge and on few occasions she falsely informed me that they stopped giving discounts to rapid responders . I asked her coworker who was standing behind her if that was true ,as I doubted in her because of my past experience with her , her coworker told me that they didn't stop giving discounts to rapid responders . I hope she gets educated and properly retrained on proper customer service handling , instead of treating certain customers like second class citizens. read more

All the other Tapioca places I go to suck. Except Lollicup, but that's 30 minutes away from here. The drinks I get here are always cold and thick (just the way I like!). I love when the drink is cold enough to make the boba freeze, because everyone knows cold boba is better. The service is quick and friendly, and they close a little later than other places (9:30 I think), so it's good for a sweet treat after dinner. Tapioca Express Natomas ftw! read more

Ok. I love the drinks here, but it just does not compare to the TapEx in the South. Its just... not the same. My sister always orders the Strawberry Snowbubble and she noticed that they use the Strawberry Nesquik to make it.. whereas the people in the South don't would actually add some chunks of strawberry in the drink. Another thing I don't like is when it comes to closing time 9PM, and I come at 8:50PM they refuse to take my order.. wait sorry.. THEY LOCK THE DOORS & REFUSE TO LET ME IN.. um hello.. you have ten minutes left like rly? Again, I love the drinks and food and I'm super thankful this place is close to where I live.. but the South area is where its at!! read more

Every time I come here to order popcorn chicken, it's ALWAYS out. Honestly, it shouldn't even be on the menu. Out of all the years I've been coming here, I may have been able to order it ONCE! read more

Priciest boba I have had and not the best tasting either. Nonetheless Tapioca Express is the only bubble tea store in Natomas, so I frequent here. My favorite thus far is the Mango Frosti Milk. Service is hit or miss. read more

I've frequented this place on a number of occasions now and it is such a blessing to have boba nearby lol. It's really just okay, but it is now my local boba shop, and I found the tea that is done right for me here....okinawa milk tea haha I wouuuuuld give it 5, but there were a couple times when I'd come in and their kitchen was closed. Since then I don't think I've gotten food from here. read more

I was recently introduced to boba and I am hooked! I live in Natomas and was hoping their was a good boba place in the area and was excited to come across Tapioca Express. This place is great! I ordered a cantaloupe snow with green apple jelly and it was super refreshing and delicious. The extensive menu has SO many different things to choose from (from the fruity snow bubbles to the milk tea with boba to the crispy chicken meal) and it will take me a while to get through it all but I am determined to try something new every time I go. It also was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon around 3ish and the employees were welcoming and friendly, unlike some of the reviews I had read stated. I really hope this place stays around for a while because as I mentioned before, I will be trying to get through the entire menu within the next year or so. Wish me luck!!! Boba, here I come! :) read more

I always go here when I used to live in Natomas. It's the only place that I know that sells boba drinks. They serve really fast. There's hardly any people every single time I went here. The workers are very nice and polite. I like their Thai tea & milk tea. read more

My new FAV BOBA spot! I crave this place all the time now. Sometimes Boba can be a hit or a miss. I loved the service here and the friendliness of the staff. They allow you to taste anything of your choice before you make a decision. Their milk teas are on point! I order the Taro Milk Tea with Coconut Milk and Grass Jelly. Different milk options are a must for boba places and not all have a variety. They should think about adding almond and soy milk too. They are very clean inside! They also have a stamp reward card! read more

Been here a couple of times now so it's enough for a review, the boba here is eh-whatever. Every time I order a taro snobubble, it's just ice slush and barely tasted any taro. So the next time I went, I ordered a taro milk tea and a thai tea and boy, were they bitter. And plus, they ran out of big tapioca balls so I got the small ones instead. I don't know who likes the small tapioca cause that's just a choking waiting to happen. And it didn't taste good either. read more

Not sure I understand why this place got anything less than 5 stars. It's a boba tea place, not anything else. If you like boba tea you'll love this place. First of all, I think of myself as an amature boba enthusiast. I've tried many kinds of teas from lots of boba places. I have to say this place is great. It is purely boba tea. It wasn't too sweet for me and it had perfect flavor. DRINK YOUR BOBA TEA. for all you Canadians, just substitute boba for bubble :-P read more

The customer service was great, I bought the taro regular with tapioca. It was really yummy. Totally exceeded my expectations. I'm generally hesitant to try new places that sell boba drinks however, this is a new fave in the area. read more

This is an update::: So I recently went back in to give it another shot. May i just say they must of done something different. The atmosphere was a lot better. The drinks were tasty and quick. The service was honestly probably one of the best service I've had from them. I don't know what made them change but I'm back to being a fan. I gave them 4 stars only because I haven't had any of their snacks again yet. But I can only hope they are good. read more
