Tiny restaurant near Intercontinental Hotel. Best food in Porto. Friendly and helpful staff. All that we ordered was delicious. Ordered the tuna tataki, foie gras, bruschetta, risotto, angus beef, apple tart. They take reservations. read more

Wow the food is outstanding! It isn't terribly small plates (compared to tapas in the US near me anyway) which is good! But watch out if you're trying to eat lighter for dinner. We got the mussels to start. Wow! Really interesting wonderful flavor and they were huge! Then the melted provolone with tomatoes and peppers and spinach I think.. goooood! Very bad for you though lol basically a huge melted cheese dip. For the main (stuffed note already) Spanish steak with port wine sauce with grilled mushroom and banana chips. Perfect! No room for dessert after but they looked amazing too! Great recommendation from a few people. Make reservations! They book for days in advance it seems! read more

This was one of the best meals we have had traveling Europe. We tried three nights to get in - the first night they were fully booked, the second night they were closed, and the third night the lovey owner remembered us and made sure to get us a table. We were not disappointed. The fish soup was unbelievably good and the organic mushrooms were the best I've ever eaten. Then came the mussels... wow. They were incredible and I would have never thought to put fresh mint in a dish like that. If you have room for dessert you must have the peanut foam, it was deliciously light yet full of flavour. read more

Food is very good, authentic Portuguese cuisine Reasonably priced. Good variety on the menu. Highly recommended.

Make a reservation - days before if you hope to eat on a weekend. Delicious meal, friendly atmosphere. Everything was perfectly prepared, beautiful to look at and even better to eat! read more

It's OK, but overrated. It is difficult to get a table and the food was just OK. 31 Porto or eLeBe are far better choices.

This has been one of my favorite dinners in Portugal. The place is simple and not pretentious at all but the food is extremely good. You do need a reservation for dinner. I will come back any time !! read more

So good. Awesome tapas and wine menu! Pretty busy place so you'll want to call to get a reservation. Would definitely go back!

Amazing food and service provided by Isabel, Maria and the TapaBento team! It was so amazing at lunch that we came back the same day for dinner! Truly a highlight of our trip to Porto. Muito obrigata, Isabel and team! read more

Great food, try the tuna tataki and the roast beef toast. They were both amazing. Service was also good, and overall an amazing experience.

Great food, quick and polite service and very nice atmosphere. Good selection of vine as well

Would give this place 10 stars, if I could. Absolutely amazing food and service! The owner, Ms. Isabel, was so lovely and gracious and even gave us tips on the best dishes. By far, the best meal we've had during our 7 day trip to Portugal!! P.S. the Foie Gras is to die for. read more

This place is absolutely phenomenal. Small, comfy restaurant with a very welcoming and friendly owner. Ordered the Goat Cheese as an app and only one word can describe it: Umami. Had the steak as my main course and it was better than most steaks I've gotten from Steakhouses. Almost went back again the next night! read more

One of the best hidden gems. Isabella was extremely friendly and accommodating to us. All of the food that we ordered was phenomenal. Will definitely be coming back when in Portugal !! read more

One of the best meals I've ever had. Get the frois gras. Honestly, get everything on the menu. Great wine too. Can not recommend enough

Fantastic food wonderful atmosphere can't say nicer things go you will love it . EXCELLENT

Me and my mother spent 2 weeks in Portugal. First Lisbon and then Porto. This restaurant was the best one we went to during our whole stay. We went back several times. Top notch! read more

Wow! This place is amazing! The food looked like from a star restaurant and it was so delicious! We ordered the potato pie, the grilled mushrooms and the goat cheese salad (which was our fave!). They also sell homemade lemonade, which was really good. Staff is friendly and competent, we didn't wait long. Their fuse did overload like 5 times during the 1 hour where we've been sitting there, but it didn't matter, as we were eating outside. Can only recommend this place, especially because they have a lot of veg stuff, which really isn't that easy to find in Portugal. read more

Great ambient, good service and excellent food at fair prices. I'll reccomend it to anyone who visits Porto. read more

Tapabento - Portuguese Near Me - Porto, 13

This is a great restaurant in old town Porto and hardest to get to. I've been there twice during last trip. Their fish soup is great, so are main courses. Their desserts are impressive and exquisitely created. I also like the people working there, great service and always helpful! read more

On a lark, we checked Yelp and saw 200+ reviews so headed towards the train station for a very late lunch. Everything was absolutely delicious. The tomato pesto bruschetta was perfect and the peanut foam was amazing read more

From the warm welcome to the warm soup on a rainy day this was a lovely experience. We had the vegetable soup, mixed salad and organic mushrooms with a glass of Rose and it was the perfect lunch. This place is adorable and delicious. Best to try to reserve ahead even for lunch, however, we did not have a reservation andLisa was so kind to get us in quickly anyway. Very recommended! read more

Great! Delicious! Like a local with super great advise from the waiters! Got the tuna and the tortilla and a mix seafrood. Super combi!

I went there on Sunday because it was the only day not fully booked. The meat was good; the tuna maybe was overcooked. The kaffir-lime panna cotta was absolutely delicious. read more

Beautiful food and the atmosphere was perfect - buzzing but not too loud - we all loved the food especially the Tortilla - great wine as well - worth seeking out read more

The best place in Porto! We found this nice place on our first evening here and although we hadn't ordered a table, they invited us to sit at a table until 8:30. The atmosphere if the room with the open kitchen was amazing. And the service was great, too. You could see that the staff cared for each other, and they liked to laugh and were really friendly. Food was also very good. You really have to go here, when in Porto! read more

After finding lots of great reviews we hunted down this restaurant (hidden behind the train station), and what a find! Great service- they fit us in without a reservation- and excellent food. The tuna toast was unreal. I'd definitely go back. read more

After reading all the positive reviews we made a reservation, we expected a lot. We had a table on the first floor, the atmosphere was a bit cold I think. Maybe a bit old fashioned but okay. We ordered a soup, 2 different toasts and the potato pie. All was good but not spectaculair. The toasts where not so crunchy, a bit wet. We had a good meal and a good time but I don't know what all the hype is about. read more

BEST FOOD IN PORTO. My friend and I could not stop ordering food, we just wanted more! The salad with fresh berries and goat cheese is to die for. The toasts are also very generous portions for the price. Amazing staff. I would eat here every single day! read more

Food is amazing! We tried many of the seafood dishes and the tuna, we thought worth the money! Also we ordered wine, the owner was really nice and gave us tastes of wine! Very busy though, make a reservation! read more

This place was by far the best that we ate at in Porto. It was recommended to us by our Airbnb hosts, and it truly did not disappoint. We got some amazing tapas along with the seafood curry. It was a meal we still talk about. The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Make sure to make a reservation because they fill up fast. We emailed the hostess, and she got back to us right away. Make sure to visit this place if you are in Porto. read more

Excellent! Friendly staff, good service, tasty food! The oxtail is out of this world good!

Wonderful experience. Great meal. Outstanding atmosphere. The owner and staff catered to our every wish.

Came here for lunch, and struck immediately by the charming intimate interior, were led upstairs, as steep and vertical a climb as any, with impossibly narrow stairs, especially compared to the US norm. Were seated with a window view, and ordered as usual, waaay too much: fish soup with several fresh seafood, prawns, whitefish, mussels mix swimming in a heady rich broth of tomato and fennel; a potato 'tortilla'--a layered casserole in the Portuguese tradition with caramelized onions; the best, freshest salad reminiscent of California with softened chèvre, strawberries, goji berries tossed with greens and a balsamic dressing; we also got a "tuna toast" layered with avocado. This last dish I was not a fan of, it tasted oddly fishy, a fresh ahi-like tuna piled on toast. My husband loved the potato tortilla, a layered concoction very tasty but a bit too greasy for me. The fish soup very good and as fresh as can be, but again the flavors of the broth were a bit muddy. If I wasn't spoiled with the fresh produce in CA, I would've fallen in love with the salad. The service was superb, warm and friendly. The prices more than reasonable for the generous portions and quality of ingredients. All of my quibbles aside, this was easily one of our favorite meals in Porto and it has a reputation of being one of the better restaurants in town, with good reason. read more

They kindly squeezed us in without a reservation and boy oh boy was it worth it. Everything that was put on the table for us was exceptional. The tuna tataki and asparagus and mushroom omelet get a special mention as they were beyond excellent - I'd go as far as to argue that the tuna was finer than some top end restaurants in London! Try to plan better than us and book a table, it will be an experience you won't forget. read more

Best seafood cataplana I've had in Portugal! The black angus main dish is mad good too. Red & white sangrias are bomb and kinda strong, but the flavor is on point. Loved the brownie dessert, but everyone seems to prefer the berry dessert they have. Make sure you make reservations in advance, because if they don't turn you around you'll be forced to eat quickly. Either way its worth it. read more
