Crackers and yogurt dip (included in the €3 cover per person)
    Sandee L.

Mixologist saves the day...Drinks were awesome, but the chef was trying too hard with the food. We did enjoyed the prawns in pastry and the crackers with yogurt dip that were part of the cover charge were good too. The scallops and butterfish both missed the mark. There was way too much going on! Great presentation with the scallops, but zero smoky flavor. The foie gras with the butterfish didn't seem necessary and I wouldn't have even known it was in there anyway but it was listed on the menu. Lychee panna cotta also meh. One of the staff members seemed thrilled to present the dishes, while the others were aloof. Honestly, one of the most underwhelming restaurants during our time in Portugal.

Wow! This was an absolute amazing meal! The food was absolutely absolutely out of this world! The drinks were delicious and the surface was lovely! The atmosphere was intimate yet very sophisticated!

It's been 10 months and I still think of my meal here. The whole vibe of this place was great! I was a solo diner and they accommodated me and helped me as I didn't really research this place as I should have. They treated me as a friend. The food was great! I should have ordered more dishes as I didn't know it was a tapas style restaurant, but the food saved me from myself. I will be coming back without a doubt. I recommend this place to a handful of friends that have since traveled to Portugal.

Birthday dinner (the ox). EVERYTHING was delicious.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, from the white fish ceviche to the ox and the sea bass. Each dish was perfectly prepared with incredible flavors and presentation. The service was impeccable--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had an amazing dining experience and can't wait to return! You also have a choice of ambiance- main room is more vibrant, side room more quiet and intimate and upstairs we were told was in between. Great experience overall!

Mistu has provided a unique and exceptional experience. The fusion of Asian, African, and European flavors was remarkaby delicious. Mitsu deserves a couple of Michelin stars. In conclusion, I must say that Tiago has delivered an outstanding experience. Well done, Mistu!

FOOD- wowsie, delicious. SERVICE: the server was professional and worked very hard. The issue I take is the service was extremely slow even by European standards. Management does not properly staff nor did they assist the team. A requested glass of water, a glass of the 20 year old port, and even the bill/check, arrived way too late to enjoy with the items it was meant to be coupled with. ATMOSPHERE: We sat in the secondary room (away from the main dining area) and you may as well sat at a bar. It was not cozy, nor comfortable, and felt like another space to shove people to get more people seated for more $$$. FOOD REVIEW- the best part. The meals are suggested to be shared. For 2 people, we were told 3-4 dishes would suffice. We were pleasantly surprised when the server brought us a complimentary hor' deuve hummus/chickpea ball. The food was fantastic. ORIENTAL DUCK SALAD, GREEN APPLE, POMEGRANATE AND HOISIN SAUCE 17€ It was a nice salad with the duck properly prepared. Tender and juicy with hoisin sauce and fresh greens. Entree's Grilled Sea Bass The sea bass filet is grilled to perfection. It had a deliciously moist texture that melts in your mouth . Grilled Octopus The grilled octopus was my 2nd favorite of the entrees'. Couple the grilled octopus with sweet potatoes and exquisite flavors burst in your mouth! Lamb Chops The lamb chops are crusted w/corn flakes and a tangy Korean barbecue sauce. I enjoyed these as well, and was surprised it made it as my #3 favorite for the evening choices. Dessert-crème brûlée Yummy

Amazing meal. The best meal we had on our trip to Portugal and in top 10 meals I've had. My husband says it's the best dessert he's had. We had booked through Google and they initially couldn't find our reservation, but had to refresh their tablet and found it. We got seated immediately. The servers were attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our meal. We had gotten the salmon ceviche, oysters and sea bass. We got the Japanese cheesecake for dessert. Lovely meal in a trendy restaurant. Definitely one to remember.

One of the best meals we have ever had! Everything was perfect and the flavors were amazing- they complimented each other so well. Our favorite was the braised butterfish. Wow- so soft and flavorful- it was the highlight of our meal. The octopus was more chewy then we like but it was still delicious with the sweet potatoes and edamame. The sea bass came with mushroom tortellini and it was good. The dresser was also a highlight- we got the dulce de leche and it was awesome when paired with the raspberry ice cream. Make sure to make a reservation!! Service and overall vibe were good too!

This entire experience was incredible. It felt like Michelin Star Dining. Every dish was so though out, the service was outstanding, and the price was great. Would recommend this to anyone in Porto

I went to Porto on a solo trip and treated myself to this place for my last dinner. I sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by the staff. The restaurant is quite small but gave a cozy intimate vibe. The bartender serving me gave amazing recommendations. I started with the white fish ceviche and had the NY strip for my main. Everything from the ambiance to the drinks flowed perfectly with the theme and it was a beautiful experience. I highly recommend making a reservation.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner tonight. A co-worker from home had recommended Mitsu and he did not steer us wrong. Five of us shared five dishes, including: salmon cerviche; duck salad; grilled sea bass; tagliatelle; and vegetable lasagna (with artichoke!). Dessert was the sublime lime mousse. It was a wonderful evening!

Definitely recommend making a reservation, I found it impressive that the hostess's reservation system was essentially a notebook and pen in this digital age. We did not see much of our waiter, since the restaurant was extremely busy and filled up with diners. Standouts: 1. Razor clams - I'll always get these if I see it on the menu. Cooked in this incredible garlic sauce. 2. Fish and seafood cataplana - delicious, tomato-forward seafood stew; I liked the version that we had the night before more which came with rice and was more filling. But this was basically a never-ending bowl of fish, clams, mussels, and shrimp. Add to that the fact that the restaurant like most in Porto did not have A/C and I emerged feeling like I had been sitting in a sauna. Skipped dessert; I had my eye on the Weeel! froyo truck parked outside. One more nit - the metal chairs are not comfortable at all for sitting a long time in.

As I came in on my own I opted for the one open stool at the counter. The restaurant was busy on a Monday early evening, about 5:30-6:00 pm-ish, with what felt like mostly locals. They have a regular menu, a daily menu printed on the counter top, and they also do Take-Away. Their specialty is definitely their roasted chicken, which one can see cooking on spits at the entrance of the restatruant, conjuring such amazing smells that truly open up the appetite. The staff is sweet and did their best to serve me, with my English/Spanish and no Portugese self. Everything I ate was top-tier without being fancy. Simple and flavorful. I ordered a 1/2 chicken (way too much for me by myself) that came with batatas (french fries- which I didnt love), so I ordered a side of white rice and a salad, as well as what I would call a carafe of wine (it was definitely either two very healthy pours or 3 regular ones). All in all, I paid $15 euros, which I thought was a great value for all that I was given and how tasty everything was.

There were two other groups before us that were sat pretty quickly within 15 minutes or so. During the time we were waiting the hostess was extremely friendly and kept giving us updates on when the table was going to be ready and was making light conversation with us as we waited. When we finally got seated you could tell that the servers were definitely busy trying to get everyone's food and drinks out and so the same hostess came to us and said don't worry I'll take your order for you and told us the things that were the most popular which from my pictures we basically got everything she said LOL. And we were not disappointed with the food that we chose. Now we know why they are considered the house specialties. The flavors of the potato fish cheesy goodness dish I cannot remember the name of it was just so warm and comforting. I was worried about a fishiness coming through when you took different bites but no all the flavor is harmonized well with each other. The tuna salad that they made was extremely fresh and again was pleasantly surprised that though it was fish the spices and bread/butter combo that came with it really didn't give any fishiness. It was also well balanced. Now I will say though those other dishes were amazing our favorite hands down was definitely the grilled octopus. It was so tender and almost melt in your mouth. We were blown away by how well it was cooked. For sure I would say if you are in the area and have a good amount of time please check this spot out and give yourself at least 3 hours to enjoy the meal because again we sat there laughing eating and talking with the people around us because it was that fantastic of a Time for roughly 3 hours.

Presentation was amazing. The tuna itself paired with the ponzu sauce was quite good. There were other elements like trout roe and crispy chicken skin, but the portions were sparse and I felt like the sauce drowned out their contribution a bit. Still a great dish though. Would order again. My main dish was the Vitela (braised veal). While the menu ostensibly presents these items for two to share, they can make half-portions of certain items, of which the Vitela was one. The meat was wonderfully tender. A couple of very minor issues here and there, like spilling some wine when pouring the glass, stuff like that. Also, the server shook my hand coming and going. Nice gesture but all I could think of was germs. Bathroom: Single-occupancy, upscale and nice. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up though. All in all, at decent restaurant but like I said, I had a bunch of small complaints that just added up, and it says a lot that my favorite course was the bread course.
