I must've walked by this place a couple of times before deciding I wanted to check it out on my trip in Porto. Best decision ever! They are known for seafood in porto. I was able to try the cod risotto and a glass of wine (naturally in Europe) I'm still dreaming of the risotto to this day! This cute restaurant was in a little alley close to the main streets so it's pretty easy to find. It's always packed full of people. The staff is very attentive. Arrived in Porto around 7 pm and asked our hotel clerk a restaurant nearby that didn't need a reservation. He recommended Impar Flores and it was just a good 7 minute casual walk from our hotel. All the tables were full when we got there around 730 pm and so had to wait a good 10 mins at the bar before we got seated. Service- for a Saturday night, the place was busy and the staff was cordial and friendly. Kudos to this one waiter/manager who got us seated who was extremely friendly (photo attached). 5 stars Food- we got the prawns tempura as an appetizer based on Yelp reviews. It's a little different than Japanese tempura in that the batter around the prawn wasn't crisped but a bit soft in texture. The green dipping sauce I can't quite describe it but worked well with the tempura. As a first bite, we enjoyed it. 4.5 stars My wife had the salada de salmao (salmon salad). It was in a bowl, nicely plated with generous amount of thin salmon along with avocado. I didn't try it but wife enjoyed her salad. As for me, I got the naco de vazia c vinho de Porto. (Sirloin steak with port wine). It included a small salad and fries that reminded me of In N Out fries. The steak tasted great and the sauce had a nice gravy taste but very subtle with the port wine. I enjoyed it. 5 stars. The check came in a book and you can pay cash or credit card which we chose card. Overall, it was a great first meal at Porto. Would come back in the future. read more

We walked by and saw this place was busy and decided wanted to grab dinner here. Emanuel was outstanding as he was incredibly friendly and helpful in helping us get an outside seat even though they were packed. For appetizer we ordered the tuna tartare, beef carpaccio, and cheese plate and for dinner got the octopus. Tuna tartare was outstanding and super fresh and full of flavor, beef carpaccio was good and cheese was plate was good and tbh too much cheese for us. The octopus was also good. Out of the 3 octopus we had in Porto this was third only because it needed some sauce to tie everything in. Came here for lunch. It was exactly what I needed. I ordered the "Linguine nero with prawns" which I was absolutely craving and it did not disappoint. To drink, I had the azur (?) white wine which was just okay. My partner had some beef with fries which was overall okay, not the best but definitely not the worst. Overall this place was not bad but it was very pricy for very little good risotto. Quality- the mushroom risotto was pretty good. It was Cooked well. The octopus risotto was a bit overcooked and there was not much octopus flavor to it. The duck salad barely had any duck. It was mostly vegetables. The staff was friendly and professional. The ambiance very cute. The location, great. These are all things that lured my fiancé and I into Impar Flores during our 3 day trip to Porto. We ordered the burrata, octopus, and prawn (shrimp) linguini). Everything looked beautiful. We had been walking all day on a tour and gobbled up the tasty meal. About 3 hours after we returned to the Airbnb, I started having terrible stomach cramping. Like contractions that came in waves that debilitated me. For the next 7 hours I switched between scream-vomiting into the toilet and well...the same out of the opposite end. I'm from the US and frantically searched how much a hospital stay in Porto would cost because I was in so much pain. In sum, this beautiful restaurant gave me crippling food poisoning that ruined the rest of the trip. I was bedridden for the next 24 hours and lost an entire day. We had a non-refundable tour scheduled the next day which we missed. After I could stand, I did not have enough energy to walk, far less traverse the hills of Porto. Avoid this restaurant like the hellish food poisoning plague that crippled me for 3 days of a European vacation. Godspeed. read more

Impar Flores is a small restaurant in a touristy part of Porto, near the Sao Bento train station. We made reservations over the phone and our table was ready when we arrived. There is seating outdoors, but the restaurant is in a high traffic area, which might be distracting. There are several tables indoors and the interior looks quite upscale. We ordered the octopus with potatoes and creamed greens as well as the black linguine with prawns. I really enjoyed the flavor of the black linguine and the sauce. The prawns were perfectly cooked and flavorful. I also enjoyed the octopus. It was crispy on the outside, but soft and tender on the inside. I also enjoyed the soft potatoes. This is a new restaurant that has only been open about 2-3 months. They have great seating outside on both sides so you can see the passers by. There's also inside and bar seating. The have daily food and drink specials so check out the black board posted outside. The service was phenomenal as they explained the menu thoroughly and gave recommendations based on our tastes. Excellent food and service. We had the Tagliatelle Carbonara and the posta the Bacalhau and both were exquisite!

I'm sitting here at the restaurant right now. We ordered prawns, salted cod cakes, fish soup, duck margret, and a tuna steak. Everything was too salty except the salted cod cakes, which ironically were bland. Duck and tuna steak were catastrophically over cooked. Fish soup had more salt than the Dead Sea. I had to pour half a cup of water into my bowl to finish it. Prawns use here are frozen prawns. We're Porto. Bah. This restaurant single-handedly made Porto a little less magical for me. read more
