Exemplary Service, Incredible Modern Cuisine, and an Unforgettable Family Dinner at Tasco! I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Tasco. This was our final night in Porto with three generations at the table--my wife, our two daughters, my parents, and myself--and we wanted a special place to celebrate the end of an amazing trip. My wife had walked into their famous neighbor, Muu, the night before to see if she could get us in, but they were completely booked. However, the co-owner of Muu and Tasco couldn't have been more festive or welcoming! He accommodated us by booking a table for our group at Tasco--their sister restaurant right next door--for the following night, and he even did a shot of tequila with my wife to celebrate. Talk about incredible Portuguese hospitality! Traveler Tip: Tasco is co-owned with Muu, literally right next door, and shares some of the same kitchen facilities and culinary staff. If you can't get into one, definitely check the other--you're getting that same exceptional standard of food! We were seated in their fantastic private dining room, which was perfect for our family. Tasco serves elevated modern cuisine designed to be enjoyed family-style. We started with the Cogumelos Mágicos (wild mushrooms) and the Cyber Punk (fresh tuna sashimi)--both were incredible and packed with flavor. For our main courses, we shared the Rib Eye, Black Angus, and Supremo de Robalo (sea bass). Every single dish was cooked to perfection and loved by everyone from the kids to my parents. As impressive as the food was, the service during a chaotic moment truly set this night apart. Mid-dinner, my wife accidentally broke a wine glass right on the table. Before we could even feel embarrassed, our server stepped in with total grace and composure. They cleaned the entire area seamlessly without disrupting the flow of our meal, and upon noticing my wife had a small cut on her finger, they immediately brought out a bandage with genuine care and concern. From the warm tequila-fueled welcome the night before to looking after us so thoughtfully at dinner, the team at Tasco delivered exemplary service from start to finish. If you're visiting Porto and want incredible modern dishes, warm hospitality, and an unforgettable vibe, Tasco is an absolute must-visit! read more

Food was great in theory / on paper, but execution wasn't quite there and some dishes felt overengineered / over experimental. Service was nice. I wouldn't come with a kid - this is more an adult vibe. read more

All of our dishes were super fresh and seasoned, albeit a tad too salty. I really enjoyed the grilled octopus. It's the best cooked octopus I've tried in Portugal, super tender and a nice char. A little on the expensive side, but great flavor. I wish it had more bell peppers on the side to add some sweetness. We also ordered tuna tartar, burrata with sun-dried tomatoes, and slow cooked veal. The tuna tartar was fresh but could have used some jam or freshness from some citrus. The burrata had a great creamy gazpacho sauce with fresh sun-dried tomatoes. And the veal had a nice tender wine flavor. The dessert was amazing, a trompe l'oiel lemon with lemon sorbet and a sweet cookie crumble. The lemon had a light chocolate crust and was filled with cream and lemon curd. Such a beautiful and tasty end to our meal. read more

Overall, a lovely place with nice staff and good, solid food, though I found it a tad expensive for what I was getting. And there were a series of small, minor issues that detracted from the experience. Bread course came warm, with a caramelized onion butter and some spicy bell pepper mayo that was ridiculously divine. This was my favorite course. Got the Cyber Punk tuna sashimi. Presentation was amazing. The tuna itself paired with the ponzu sauce was quite good. There were other elements like trout roe and crispy chicken skin, but the portions were sparse and I felt like the sauce drowned out their contribution a bit. Still a great dish though. Would order again. My main dish was the Vitela (braised veal). While the menu ostensibly presents these items for two to share, they can make half-portions of certain items, of which the Vitela was one. The meat was wonderfully tender. Flavor was had a slight tinge of bitterness and saltiness that didn't quite agree with me. Good dish overall. Service was kind and engaging. Possibly a bit too fussy over me for my American sensibilities, but they were very nice. The server knowledgeable about wine pairings and helped me pick out some for the courses I ordered. A couple of very minor issues here and there, like spilling some wine when pouring the glass, stuff like that. Also, the server shook my hand coming and going. Nice gesture but all I could think of was germs. Bathroom: Single-occupancy, upscale and nice. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up though. All in all, at decent restaurant but like I said, I had a bunch of small complaints that just added up, and it says a lot that my favorite course was the bread course. I would not repeat personally, but I think it might be worth a try for those that really love what's on the menu. read more

Our Airbnb host recommend this spot -- and it was very very cool! We asked the waiter to surprise us -- and he did bringing course after course of delicious fare. My favorite was the beef tartare and my husband's was the ceviche or maybe the veal or possibly the soup. And the tangerine ice cream with cheese and cardamom foam -- so incredibly scrumptious! We were full when we left but if the plates kept coming out, we would still be there tasting and being surprised. Everyone spoke English -- and likely multiple other languages, too. I appreciated the books that surrounded us -- clearly showing they valued reading. read more

We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and we are so glad we did! Quick pro tip - contact the restaurant and make a rezzie ahead of time. We emailed and then spoke on the phone the same day. They had a 6pm slot open but we needed to be done by 7:45pm for the next reservation. This worked out perfectly for us. We tried 2 of the cocktails and they were simply delicious (Fat Hooker and Tex Durex). Craft cocktails with unique ingredients and flavors that would rival any fancy cocktail lounge back in the states. For apps, we had the tuna sashimi - so fresh and delicious. The fish ceviche was good but not our fave. We loved the whole, grilled octopus. The beef tartare was yummy. The sides are surprisingly good! We loved the puréed cauliflower! The ribeye was cooked to perfection but was a bit too fatty on one side. My hubby who is not a fan of citrusy/sour desserts thought the lemon dessert was very, very good! We Loved it! All of the servers were attentive. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner! read more

Heard this spot through TikTok and it did not disappoint! Tip: While they don't do reservations, you can call ahead and put your name down. But if you're unable to, come by the time the restaurant opens (7pm). Spots fill out quickly, as there are limited tables. Tasco is known for their experimental and delicious cocktails, and we enjoyed ours with the complimentary dishes (bread with carrot hummus and garlic butter, and octopus croquettes). We also enjoyed our shareable "moments" with the pork ribs and salmon ceviche. Would highly recommend for the drinks and shareable portions! read more

Amazing all around. Highly recommend. Get a later reservation, we started at 930, and ended up hanging with the staff until 1a. Really enjoyed our meal. One of the best during our stay in Porto. The service was exceptionally chummy and personal. I came in with a special drink order, which the waiter dictated it to the bartender, and then on his own, had the bartender remake it before bringing it to me (along with a small one for himself). Good cocktails aren't a given anywhere in Porto, and this place obviously has committed to a strong bar program. The waiter ended up the evening with some amazing chocolates on the house, and a list of the best craft cocktail bars in town. read more

Excellent service and a beautifully decorated restaurant! Found out about this restaurant and decided to visit while on vacation. Arrived early (when it opened) for dinner with a party of 4. The waiter was great and took the time to explain the menu to us, learn our names, and make sure to check for vegan alternatives for myself so I could also enjoy the staters. They only have one vegan option, Guiseppe Acrimboldo, but if you let the waiter know ahead of time, he or she will find a way to accommodate you (as he did for me). I thought the Guiseppe Acrimboldo was very interesting, good taste, but interesting. I didn't think it was filling for a vegan but I liked it. Would I order it again? Probably not, but that's just because it wasn't enough and would've preferred the sweet potato puree to be thicker instead of smoother like baby food. The rest of my party enjoyed the Ribeye, Cogumelos Magicos, and the Machu Picchu which they thought were fantastic! Even though the last two were shareable, I'd say that to order two Machu Picchu as it wasn't enough for 3 people. Overall 5/5, hope to visit again when in Porto. read more

Small and personal with amazing attentive and friendly staff. The ambiance was perfect, spotless, modern and not too loud. The specialty drinks and the port was a great highlight on the relatively small yet very special menu. The fresh and tasty ceviche starter kicked off the night. The sweet potato and cabbage vegan main was excellent and the grilled sea bass with sesame butter beurre blanc sauce, crispy skin and a touch of salmon roe made it an instant highlight after over a week of eating our way through Portugal. Not sure of the name of the desert, but the chewy delectable cardamon honey sea foam with a light cake accompanied by local port sealed the epic dinner. read more

We showed up a couple minutes after 7pm to see if we could get in without a reservation but unfortunately they were booked solid. As we stood on the sidewalk outside trying to figure out where to go next, the host came out, said they had a cancellation, and seated us. We spent the next two hours enjoying a fantastic meal! We also watched many people without reservations get turned away. We were very lucky. The food was really fantastic as were the drinks. My wife ordered some wine and the bartender came over to discuss with her why she should try white port with her meal instead. I ordered a drink that came in an awesome tiki glass. If you can get in here to eat it is definitely worth the effort. It was one of my favorites in the week we spent in Porto. read more

First i got to mention that we arrived to Porto late on a Monday. We were looking for a place to eat. Even though in Europe they dinner late. 11pm was too late. The only place where they had the kitchen open was this. Octopus was delicious. No mushy no dry. It lacked a little of the explosiveness that I was expecting. Still a very solid option. read more

Their food is smack your mama good. I'd never smack my mama because that's disrespectful but it's that good. Drinks. Food. Service. All top notch. The Stripper. The name of a drink, not a scantily clad woman. Reminded me of an alcoholic raspberry lemonade. Sweet, tart & refreshing. BBQ pork ribs. Sweet, smoky, meaty goodness. With thinly sliced carrots and zucchini. Because eat your vegetables, kiddies. Octopus. I don't even like octopus & that ish was goooood. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful. Pretty to look at (as pretty as octopi get). Rice & salad (two separates). Flavorful. Perfect sides. Chocolate brownie bites. One, complimentary. Anything free is an A in my book. Two, perfectly sized to finish the meal. Topped w/ sea salt flakes. Service. Impeccable. They want you to be happy AF. Not just happy. Happy AF. With everything. They openly said that if something is not to our standards that we should send it back. What restaurant says this? That's how AF they want you to be. Ambience. Cute vibes. Tucked away on a quieter street. Just feels good. Sorry, mama... it's not looking too good for you. read more

Lovely restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Everything is to be shared. So we had the beef tartare, ceviche, octopus and bean/pea veg side dish. Excellent recommendation on the wine as it was a Pinot noir that paired nicely with everything. Our fav was the tartare. It had a totally unique presentation with tiny mustard seeds in top. read more

You need to go here if in Porto. Traveling in Portugal, we wanted a spot with smaller versions of Portugese staples so we could eat all the things! This was a recommendation by our hotel, and we were so pleased! We needed a reservation, even for a Tuesday night (9pm). Decor on first floor is cozy and inviting, decor on second floor seems to be trying hard to feel like an outdoor area with picnic tables, fake greenery on ceiling, etc. Servers were SO friendly. I learned where my server went to college and her first job, and got to know some fun facts about our other servers life history, all in a good way, in good conversation. Food was delicious! Rump steak with Portugese sauce was delicious-- pairs perfect with the roasted potatoes side. The sliced pork sounded a tad bland, but was nothing but!! Tender, juicy and flavorful! We also loved the codfish fritters, they were crispy and seafoody in just the right way. Sangria was an excellent choice for a drink, well priced too! Value was great for the portions and quality we received. Highly recommend for couples, friends, small groups and large groups, but again, you'll need a reservation! read more

Overall - it was a great experience & I'd definitely recommend this as a good place for a date night or a small dinner with friends. They had an english menu available and the waiter spoke english was well which made it easy for us to dine here. They started us off with complimentary bread (served warm) with butter and croquettes. We came quite hungry so this was a welcome start to the meal. I ordered the Cold Contagious cocktail (€8), which was a hit - it was the right amount of sweet and tart at the same time. We also got: (4/5) Tuna Tataki - €17 - the tuna was lightly seared and served with a sweet teriyaki-mirin-soy sauce that paired well with it. The tuna texture itself was on the firmer side and quite hearty. (5/5) Cod (Bacalhau) - €23 - I loved this dish - the cod was flaky and tender but also had a bit of a bite to it. This was served in a spinach sauce that paired really well. (5/5) Grilled fresh octopus - €36 - Super tender & flavorful. I think this was the best octopus we had on this trip so far - highly recommend if you're a fan of octopus. This was a full octopus, so it was quite filling and we had to take some of this to go. (4/5) Oven baked veggies - €6 - We got this to be healthy & balance out the veggies on our trip - this was solid & hit the spot. (5/5) Hazelnut & chocolate cheesecake - €6 - Wow! This was a really pleasant surprise. The style of cheesecake was more of a fluffy mousse rather than a cake slice which meant that it was easier to eat more of. This was topped with chopped hazelnuts and also had hazelnuts throughout, which brought a nice crunch. This was paired with slices of dark chocolate and some dark chocolate sorbet/ice cream, which had a deep chocolate flavor and went really nicely with the cheesecake. Our total came out to ~90ish, which I thought was fair for the food quality, service, and ambiance of the meal. Make sure to email for a reservation in advance, as they were fully booked and generally reservation only! read more

Respectable food, but not mind blowing. We ordered the seafood rice, tomato rice, squid, pi-pau, codfish, and the chocolate cake. The rice is served in a broth. The service was very good. The chocolate cake was also a level 10. The rest of the food didn't really standout to me. read more

What an amazing surprise! Everything was absolutely wonderful. The staff was delightful and the food was incredibly good. Simple yet sophisticated. Focused yet adventurous! And we had the honor to meet the chef and she is young and humble and really sweet. I can't recommend this place enough! We are definitely coming back for more! I ate here on one of my first nights in Porto. A local recommended it to us as a good introduction to Portuguese cuisine. We arrived a little early, but it was already a popular spot. And I could see why! I loved the atmosphere of this spot; the size of the restaurant is small enough to feel intimate but roomy enough to feel comfortable. All of the dishes we tried were excellent, especially the seafood options, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I never do rating on Yelp while traveling but this place is gem... super friendly staff and the food are so DELICIOUS!!!

The food here is fantastic and worth 5+ stars. However, I deducted a star off for the service since it was a bit on the slower side. Anyways, the food is extremely good that I would still go there again. This restaurant is mostly tapa style but with bigger portion than the traditional tapas. We ordered 4 dishes - steak, octopus pantanisca, codfish pantanisca, and tomato rice. The steak was so flavorful and good, one of the better steaks I had. I was pleasantly surprised with tomato rice. Initially I thought it was going to be too soft/soupy but that wasn't the case and felt like eating actual rice with good tomato flavor. However, the favorite dish I had was both the octopus and codfish pantanisca. Octopus and codfish were very fresh. Highly recommended! read more
