    Soup with seafood

Our Airbnb host recommend this spot -- and it was very very cool! We asked the waiter to surprise us -- and he did bringing course after course of delicious fare. My favorite was the beef tartare and my husband's was the ceviche or maybe the veal or possibly the soup. And the tangerine ice cream with cheese and cardamom foam -- so incredibly scrumptious! We were full when we left but if the plates kept coming out, we would still be there tasting and being surprised. Everyone spoke English -- and likely multiple other languages, too. I appreciated the books that surrounded us -- clearly showing they valued reading.

We came here to celebrate my son's birthday and we are so glad we did! Quick pro tip - contact the restaurant and make a rezzie ahead of time. We emailed and then spoke on the phone the same day. They had a 6pm slot open but we needed to be done by 7:45pm for the next reservation. This worked out perfectly for us. We tried 2 of the cocktails and they were simply delicious (Fat Hooker and Tex Durex). Craft cocktails with unique ingredients and flavors that would rival any fancy cocktail lounge back in the states. For apps, we had the tuna sashimi - so fresh and delicious. The fish ceviche was good but not our fave. We loved the whole, grilled octopus. The beef tartare was yummy. The sides are surprisingly good! We loved the puréed cauliflower! The ribeye was cooked to perfection but was a bit too fatty on one side. My hubby who is not a fan of citrusy/sour desserts thought the lemon dessert was very, very good! We Loved it! All of the servers were attentive. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner!

Heard this spot through TikTok and it did not disappoint! Tip: While they don't do reservations, you can call ahead and put your name down. But if you're unable to, come by the time the restaurant opens (7pm). Spots fill out quickly, as there are limited tables. Tasco is known for their experimental and delicious cocktails, and we enjoyed ours with the complimentary dishes (bread with carrot hummus and garlic butter, and octopus croquettes). We also enjoyed our shareable "moments" with the pork ribs and salmon ceviche. Would highly recommend for the drinks and shareable portions!

What a treat for our last night in Porto. Highly recommend the slow cooked veal and the sides (we tried 4 with our entree). Everything was delicious and the staff was top notch!

Amazing all around. Highly recommend. Get a later reservation, we started at 930, and ended up hanging with the staff until 1a. This was our first night in Porto and the head bartender hand wrote us a custom city guide based on our categories - cocktail bars, art, gardens and unique spots of Porto. Excellent service and a beautifully decorated restaurant! Found out about this restaurant and decided to visit while on vacation. Arrived early (when it opened) for dinner with a party of 4. The waiter was great and took the time to explain the menu to us, learn our names, and make sure to check for vegan alternatives for myself so I could also enjoy the staters. They only have one vegan option, Guiseppe Acrimboldo, but if you let the waiter know ahead of time, he or she will find a way to accommodate you (as he did for me). I thought the Guiseppe Acrimboldo was very interesting, good taste, but interesting. I didn't think it was filling for a vegan but I liked it. Would I order it again? Probably not, but that's just because it wasn't enough and would've preferred the sweet potato puree to be thicker instead of smoother like baby food. The rest of my party enjoyed the Ribeye, Cogumelos Magicos, and the Machu Picchu which they thought were fantastic! Even though the last two were shareable, I'd say that to order two Machu Picchu as it wasn't enough for 3 people. Overall 5/5, hope to visit again when in Porto.

Small and personal with amazing attentive and friendly staff. The ambiance was perfect, spotless, modern and not too loud. The specialty drinks and the port was a great highlight on the relatively small yet very special menu. The fresh and tasty ceviche starter kicked off the night. The sweet potato and cabbage vegan main was excellent and the grilled sea bass with sesame butter beurre blanc sauce, crispy skin and a touch of salmon roe made it an instant highlight after over a week of eating our way through Portugal. Not sure of the name of the desert, but the chewy delectable cardamon honey sea foam with a light cake accompanied by local port sealed the epic dinner.

Lovely restaurant. The waiters were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Everything is to be shared. So we had the beef tartare, ceviche, octopus and bean/pea veg side dish. Excellent recommendation on the wine as it was a Pinot noir that paired nicely with everything. Our fav was the tartare. It had a totally unique presentation with tiny mustard seeds in top.

We showed up a couple minutes after 7pm to see if we could get in without a reservation but unfortunately they were booked solid. As we stood on the sidewalk outside trying to figure out where to go next, the host came out, said they had a cancellation, and seated us. We spent the next two hours enjoying a fantastic meal! We also watched many people without reservations get turned away. We were very lucky. The food was really fantastic as were the drinks. My wife ordered some wine and the bartender came over to discuss with her why she should try white port with her meal instead. I ordered a drink that came in an awesome tiki glass. If you can get in here to eat it is definitely worth the effort. It was one of my favorites in the week we spent in Porto.

Brilliant! One the the best dining experience I've had. They stagger the tapas dishes so that they flow together. And they are very quick to clean off the tables and reset them The cocktails are also very fun and the menu is hilarious. Overall a bit pricy but definitely worth the experience!

Their food is smack your mama good. I'd never smack my mama because that's disrespectful but it's that good. Drinks. Food. Service. All top notch. The Stripper. The name of a drink, not a scantily clad woman. Reminded me of an alcoholic raspberry lemonade. Sweet, tart & refreshing. BBQ pork ribs. Sweet, smoky, meaty goodness. With thinly sliced carrots and zucchini. Because eat your vegetables, kiddies. Octopus. I don't even like octopus & that ish was goooood. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful. Pretty to look at (as pretty as octopi get). Rice & salad (two separates). Flavorful. Perfect sides. Chocolate brownie bites. One, complimentary. Anything free is an A in my book. Two, perfectly sized to finish the meal. Topped w/ sea salt flakes. Service. Impeccable. They want you to be happy AF. Not just happy. Happy AF. With everything. They openly said that if something is not to our standards that we should send it back. What restaurant says this? That's how AF they want you to be. Ambience. Cute vibes. Tucked away on a quieter street. Just feels good. Sorry, mama... it's not looking too good for you.

The focus here is on rotisserie chicken; they have other items but they're not the main event. It's very big inside, 2 stories and even early it's pretty busy. The chicken is well seasoned and very juicy; enough so that you know why it's So popular. Sides I can barely remember , but everything else was good- it's just that you will Always remember that chicken! Other than that, my only other clear memory of that dinner is that it was very reasonably priced. If I were in the area again, I'd return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

As I came in on my own I opted for the one open stool at the counter. The restaurant was busy on a Monday early evening, about 5:30-6:00 pm-ish, with what felt like mostly locals. They have a regular menu, a daily menu printed on the counter top, and they also do Take-Away. Their specialty is definitely their roasted chicken, which one can see cooking on spits at the entrance of the restatruant, conjuring such amazing smells that truly open up the appetite. The staff is sweet and did their best to serve me, with my English/Spanish and no Portugese self. Everything I ate was top-tier without being fancy. Simple and flavorful. I ordered a 1/2 chicken (way too much for me by myself) that came with batatas (french fries- which I didnt love), so I ordered a side of white rice and a salad, as well as what I would call a carafe of wine (it was definitely either two very healthy pours or 3 regular ones). All in all, I paid $15 euros, which I thought was a great value for all that I was given and how tasty everything was.

We didn't have any problems with communication. It helped that they could speak in Spanish and my brother could speak it way better than me. The food was very good. All the flavors were spot on. All plates were wiped out. The ribeye, though, was not that tender. It was flavorful and the temperature was right, but it was quite chewy. So, if there is one dish that we wouldn't recommend, it's the ribeye. Everything else was great. The place is worth coming back to if you want your carnivore cravings to be satisfied.

Around noon, someone did show up briefly to post a sign out front saying they were going to be opening at 12:45 that day (I asked out of curiosity; sounds like it's *often* 12:30, but it's really mostly a "they'll open when they want to" kind of place.) I knew it'd be the sort of place that would fill up immediately, so I got back at 12:30. At least that day, it turns out they still had 1 table left after they sat everyone there before they opened - that last table got claimed at 1, 15 minutes later. It's not a large space, and word is out for good reason. Given it's not a large space, it was also easy for them to have excellent service, which they did. You could tell they were all passionate about the place, and again, for good reason - it was great. Definitely one of the best meals we ate on that trip. Between the two of us, we tried: Complimentary bread and olive oil. One OMG fantastic, wonderful fish soup. The sort of soup you'd want to eat every day if you could. Croquettes that were pretty good. Enjoyable enough, perfectly crispy, a little too salty. Not nearly as memorable as everything else. The seafood rice stew for 2 - a description I always question ("for 2"), but true in this case. It was quite large - and great. Excellent shrimp, which I'm picky about. I'm even pickier about shellfish (clams, mussels, etc). I was expecting to give my wife most of them, but I did *not* do that. They really know how to get and cook the best seafood here. The rice at the top of the stew wasn't anything particular to mention - filling, though, and warming for the drizzly day it'd been that morning. The rice at the *bottom* of the stew, that'd been slowly cooking in hot stew the whole time, was *very good*. :D Wine-wise, they have like a hundred bottles of wine by the whole bottom, some very expensive, some *surprisingly* reasonably priced, but we also didn't need a whole bottle of wine with lunch - by the glass, they just had one red and one white house wine (also solidly priced, though, for a place like this, 6 euros (Be way more than that in the US. I had the red with the stew - solid.) Also a handful of solid-looking ports by the glass, one of which I had with dessert, a reserva tawny for 6.50 euros. After eating the stew, my wife tapped out. I was also pretty full, but I'd spent a lot of effort getting here and I was *gonna* have dessert, darn it. Had what was basically just a whole roasted stewed apple, cooked down until it turned to pudding. Super good. Went really well with a reserva tawny port. This place was great.

Luckily for us the restaurant was only half full so there was no need to wait (weekday at 3pm). Odd hours for popular restaurants worked out the best for us on this trip. Inside there were just 8 tables so I can see why this place usually sees long lines outside. It was quite cozy. Menu was straightforward with appetizers, seafood and from the country (aka meat). The octopus rice was so good. The strips of sliced octopus were very tender and the flavors of this dish were delicious. It was comforting on that cold and rainy afternoon. The salt crusted seabass selection was delivered the with flare all covered in flames. Our server ignored the flames and proceeded to crack open the salt crust, fillet and debone the fish. Full service! The fish was meaty and perfectly cooked. The side of potatoes and broccoli was addicting and I normally don't eat a lot of potatoes. We skipped dessert but the menu was tempting. Besides the fish service it would've been nice to have a bit more proactive attention from our server. When we requested our check, she pointed out that out that tipping was not included and waited until we completed the transaction. Would return for the food next time in Porto.
