    Seafood rice and rabbit

This is a true gem!!!! I am always skeptical of yelp reviews, but when you want sardines.... This place was awesome. I didn't like the grilled sardines, but the fried ones were amazing. The sangria was 15/10. The house wine was $20 for the bottle and it was so good. Coming back again. Don't skip the rabbit

A Grade is a hole in the wall mom and pop where we had our first meal in Portugal. It was a recommendation from someone from home who said the seafood rice is life changing. Well I don't know about life changing but it is very good. So good that we ordered a second serving. The octopus rice was also very good and a must try. The clams and fried sardines were prepared normally but delicious as well The restaurant is located near the river but in a small alley. The service is personal and friendly. I highly recommend it and avoid the tourist restaurants on the water.

    Grilled prawns

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We went just when they opened since we had no reservations. We ordered the grilled prawns and roast kid. The prawns were overcooked but seasoned well. The roast kid is actually goat. It was good.

Came here during my trip to Porto, definitely felt more like a family-run restaurant. The food was decent and the atmosphere and service were pleasant. The experience fit well with the rest of the vibe I got from Porto generally. :-)

Rating: 3.5 stars Restaurant located within walking distance to the waterfront on a tucked away street. Seems like a lot of locals also eat here. Food: fried sardines with tomato rice and steamed clams. Both dishes were good staple dishes. Service: very friendly and offered complimentary port tasting at the end. Overall, a good local dining experience, but not "outstanding".

This was recommended by our hotel as a place which feels like eating a Portuguese grandmas cooking. It did not fail to disappoint as everything we had was very tasty. We ordered the octopus salad to start and had the vegetable soup and the cabbage and potato soup. All of which were delicious. We also had the seafood pasta and the fried whiting fish filets with vegetables and tomato rice. Super tasty although they could have given a larger portion. Prices were a little higher than most restaurants but the service was fast and friendly. Definitely a good place to go for some Portuguese home cooking!

Fantastic dinner; rabbit, soup, sardines. Cute romantic spot.

Romantic restaurant, that feels like stepping back in time. Great spot for local cuisine, it's small, romantic, and tasty. The owner is very attentive, making sure we had all we needed. My wife and I don't eat Gluten, and they we accommodating, prepping a fried fish dish with out the breading. It was a great spot to spend the evening together.

Typical family restaurant. Very hard to get a table, food is tasty, fresh and simple. For sure not a turist trap with super kind staff and shity food. Prices around 20€ per person(main dish+drink) Recommend it!

    Clams in white wine

Tiny mom and pop type restaurant hidden round the corner from a busy street. It was empty when I arrived just before noon but was filling up by the time I left. I ordered the clams and the roasted octopus and I think it was the owner who served me. He answered any questions I had and was very attentive during my meal. The clams were cooked in some kind of white wine and was soooooo good. The roasted octopus was served with some rice on the side and was super filling but very good.

As I came in on my own I opted for the one open stool at the counter. The restaurant was busy on a Monday early evening, about 5:30-6:00 pm-ish, with what felt like mostly locals. They have a regular menu, a daily menu printed on the counter top, and they also do Take-Away. Their specialty is definitely their roasted chicken, which one can see cooking on spits at the entrance of the restatruant, conjuring such amazing smells that truly open up the appetite. The staff is sweet and did their best to serve me, with my English/Spanish and no Portugese self. Everything I ate was top-tier without being fancy. Simple and flavorful. I ordered a 1/2 chicken (way too much for me by myself) that came with batatas (french fries- which I didnt love), so I ordered a side of white rice and a salad, as well as what I would call a carafe of wine (it was definitely either two very healthy pours or 3 regular ones). All in all, I paid $15 euros, which I thought was a great value for all that I was given and how tasty everything was.

There were two other groups before us that were sat pretty quickly within 15 minutes or so. During the time we were waiting the hostess was extremely friendly and kept giving us updates on when the table was going to be ready and was making light conversation with us as we waited. When we finally got seated you could tell that the servers were definitely busy trying to get everyone's food and drinks out and so the same hostess came to us and said don't worry I'll take your order for you and told us the things that were the most popular which from my pictures we basically got everything she said LOL. And we were not disappointed with the food that we chose. Now we know why they are considered the house specialties. The flavors of the potato fish cheesy goodness dish I cannot remember the name of it was just so warm and comforting. I was worried about a fishiness coming through when you took different bites but no all the flavor is harmonized well with each other. The tuna salad that they made was extremely fresh and again was pleasantly surprised that though it was fish the spices and bread/butter combo that came with it really didn't give any fishiness. It was also well balanced. Now I will say though those other dishes were amazing our favorite hands down was definitely the grilled octopus. It was so tender and almost melt in your mouth. We were blown away by how well it was cooked. For sure I would say if you are in the area and have a good amount of time please check this spot out and give yourself at least 3 hours to enjoy the meal because again we sat there laughing eating and talking with the people around us because it was that fantastic of a Time for roughly 3 hours.

That's always a plus as we got to witness the buzzing crew efficiently feed the customers. We got 4 kinds of appetizers that our server recommended. They were all good but we liked the casserole baked dish the best. My wife and I shared a rice plate of the bifanas (spicy pork steak) with fries. For drinks, I got a bottled Compal juice while my wife got her afternoon macchiato. Our bill was a grand total of €17. I even corrected them as our bottle of water wasn't included in the chit.
