I have been coming to Tap Tea Bar since they opened in 2017. I no longer live in Wilmington but it's a must when I'm back in town. The owner Dynh is awesome and puts so much work into making tap such a welcoming cozy atmosphere with super high quality bubble tea and fun unique menu items. I currently live in the triangle (and I'm a bobarista myself now) with soooo many options but of the dozens of places we have tried nothing beats tap to me. There is a sheet of paper where you can write in a handcrafted recipe or build your own - I did the build your own. I like that you can select the level of sweetness and caffeine level in some of the drinks and the staff is more than patient with all the questions I had. I've gotten drinks with mango toppers (little pieces of mango cut into star shapes) and the traditional tapioca boba balls. I prefer the latter. Place also has a nice vibe on the inside. You just go in and fill out the little form with all your selections and in no time they have your drink prepared. Even with it being busy in there I get like my drink came out fast. I love love love bubble tea. It's amazing to have a dedicated bubble tea bar in the area, it scratches the itch when I'm craving those tapioca balls. There are 3 types you can order: milk, fruit tea, and frostea. I've never been a fan of the milk teas, just not my jam so I can't say much about those... buttttttt the tea and frostea? Yum. There are two sizes, and a few tea bases you can choose from depending on flavors and caffeine levels you want. My go to order is the fruit green tea mango with boba. It's not too sweet and hits the spot. I tried my first frostea the other day - peach flavored and mmmm. It's sweeter if you're looking for that! There's lot of flavors to choose and you can mix-and-match for extra 50 cents. I love that they sell reuseable bubble tea straws, $10.00 a straw. The decor is spot on, cute study spot or just hanging with some friends. Depending on the person you order from, it's a great experience or it's an okay experience, young college kids probably don't think much about it. Definitely a place I'll continue to come back to over and over though. read more

They give you a good amount of tea (and toppings) and the prices are good. The tea bar itself is in a nice little strip and parking is a breeze! The decor throughout is very appealing (there's even a little place to take a instax picture and hang it!) However, there's not a whole lot of room inside but It's never been overly busy when I've gone.I will be back for my tea fix. Until we moved to Wilmington 4 years ago we lived somewhere we could find boba tea ( aka Bubble Tea) so my whole family was excited when I read on a reddit thread that Tap Tea had opened over not far from the Blue Moon building on Racine. The small local business is run by its owners one of whom told me they moved down here from New York and missed having it themselves. This place is really nice and has a lounge area with board games for people who want to hang out. They are friendly and have all the flavors I've ever seen and some new ones. They have three types of tea, multiple ways to make the drinks, and several toppings to choose from. I've already been three times and plan on going back often. read more
