Cup of coffee was good and they had desserts and breakfast items. Very intimate yet surprisingly a great size. Has outside seating too in front. Convenient off main road near netted parking. ( even though the meter person stalls and gave ticket thinking I expedited BUT I had already added on time so unsure why they had to aggravate me lol I was having a great morning there with a business partner lol) I will definitely go back and I will definitely bring my pup (who is a big puppy of 65 lbs so I'll have to make sure it's when not busy lol) Great place to try if downtown. read more

While in Wilmington I stopped at a coffee house that located at Cotton Exchange. The Barista was very friendly. She helped a very indecisive person (me) choose an amazing coffee drink. I ordered a vanilla frappe which was sooooo delicious. I recalled loved it. It was sweet but not overly sweet and it was topped off with whipped cream..yummy! It was a quaint spot and it seemed as if it were a placed that many of the locals frequented. read more

Came here for a afternoon caffeine pick-me-up, and was very glad I did! The place is very cute on the side inside, with a little bit of seating in the loft area. As the name might imply, the place is also dog friendly. They have a ton of flavored syrups to choose from (both sugar free and regular!) and I decided to go with the sugar free peanut butter syrup in just their regular roast and was glad I did. Their coffee is bold, hot and flavorful and honestly didn't even need an extra flavoring. Ok so I came to your guys cafe and got some coffee with my brother because I'm California and I flew out to surprise my father because he was diagnosed being blind this past Father's Day holiday in June. Anyway y'all's environment was awesome but when I've been trying to call and to talk to a staff member for over a week, to ask questions, I never get an answer, always get the answering machine. And all I want to do is order more coffee (bourbon butter pecan flavor) so that's why y'all get 1 star. No picks up the phone. And I can't order. Nice place to grab a cup of coffee, a latte, an Americano, etc. They also have fresh baked goods brought in daily... they have really tasty bagels! The staff was friendly and very helpful. Visiting for the day on the way home from the beach and needed a caffeine kick to continue our drive. It was such a cute and kitschy spot. There is a great pastry case with bagels, cookies and treats. We had iced mochas with extra mocha and added a dash of cinnamon, DELISH! VERY disappointed in my experience at Java Dog this morning. This place came highly recommended but I won't go back. My boyfriend and I stopped in for coffee and breakfast around 7:30am. We ordered two ice coffees and a breakfast burrito and a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. The young man behind the counter took our order and rang us out but I noticed that he didn't wash his hands and barehanded the food which he put on two paper plates. He put them both into the microwave at the same time and after a minute, opened the door and poked them with his fingers to see if they were done. Gross! I saw the whole thing and asked for a refund. That is a major health code violation. The young man initially denied everything but then admitted to not washing his hands in between handling the cash and the food. He gave me the refund for the sandwiches and we left. Other people seem to like this coffee shop an I'm hoping that this was a one off. Either way, I wouldn't go back to Java Dog. read more

This place comes highly recommended so when port city's card reader wasn't working (cash only) we saw the perfect opportunity to try java dog! Unfortunately, it just was not what I was expecting. The coffee had a weird artificial after taste yet no flavor at the same time. The ice cubes were melted down from the get go.. making it straight water. $12 dollars for two iced coffees and nothing to show for it. This will probably be my last time at java dog. My only disappointment here was there just was no room.
