This place was amazing! We took a day trip to Wilmington and decided to get coffee from here. I had the cold brew with vanilla cold foam and it was wonderful! The coffee base it very good. The ambiance of the shop was very homey and cute, I loved it. The employees were kind and helped me through the order taking process, I will definitely be coming back!
Super cute coffee shop! It's also pet friendly. Love the interior, very cosy vibe. Barista was friendly. They have good assortment of specialty coffees. Pup cups also available for your poochie. I ordered an iced rivercourt s'mores and it was amazing! If I'm ever back here visiting, I'll definitely stop by again.
Visiting from out of town and decided to stop here while exploring downtown. I ordered a flight bc there were so many flavors i wanted to try. I love sweet coffee drinks and the 3 lattes i chose were so good! We ordered the banana fosters latte, christmas cookie latte (my favorite!!), and rivercourt smores latte. Love that the shop was also dog friendly!
Our barista was great. She was patient as we read through the menu. It's a cute hidden gem...the sign doesn't really pop out and there was a car blocking the street sign they had lol. But we found it after we went around the block. The flight was really good but they kind of tasted similar to each other and I wasn't a fan of it sitting because the toppings got soggy. My husband loved his London fog.
Went on a Sunday morning around 10:30 and it's a cozy little cafe. Definitely a place for mostly drinks than bakery items but the cinnamon bun was amazing and the chai tea was great too. Prices weren't insane which was a nice change for a trendy cafe! Staff were also really nice! Would recommend and will probably be back for a flight of coffees (love that idea)

What a cute little venue with a relaxing feel, and the 2 young ladies were very hard working, cheerful and friendly. The wife had one of their specialty coffee's and like it very much. Comfy seats, Not so busy on Sunday at 9 am this particular time but it was very nice.
My husband and I found this charming coffee shop while cruising downtown Wilmington. The exterior is cute with little tables on the sidewalk for sitting and sipping. Inside we were greeted by a happy faced barista who shared the seasonal menu with us. The interior was adorable with a cozy couch and multiple tables to enjoy time at. I enjoyed the seasonal pomegranate punch and my husband had the pumpkin chai latte. Both were great! Definitely a great place to stop in for a drink or tasty treat.

My husband really liked the crumb cake too. I would definitely come again!

I tried their February tea special which was hibiscus and raspberry teas lightly sweetened. Really good! There was only one person working and it was busy, they were multitasking and making you feel welcome at the same time.
Great space. Great staff. Even better coffee. My new fav coffee shop in town. I dream about the French toast latte.

Really loved the concept and their summer menu is so fun! Located right downtown so it's very convenient to park and wander around. A little sad that their card machine was down, so I couldn't get everything I wanted, but I did get to try the blueberry cobbler latte! Light coffee flavor and I couldn't really taste the cookie, but there was a yummy thick blueberry top that made up for it! read more

I was in need of coffee while at the children's museum. The staff recommended maroon monkey, which was a short walk from the museum. It was a great recommendation. It had a relaxing atmosphere and the barista was very nice. I had the blueberry cobbler cold brew and raspberry coffee cake. The cold brew was really good and I enjoyed the flavor. The coffee cake was very tasty and the raspberry really made it special. I would highly recommend if you need some coffee while exploring downtown Wilmington. read more

Some Saturdays I walk over to the downtown market when in Wilmington. At the edge of the downtown area, there's this delish coffee place called Maroon Monkey Coffee. Plenty of espresso in their lattes. Perfectly steamed and mixed in almond milk in them too. Friendly staff. And just the right amount of art, a customer postcard board, and velvety couch to create an inviting ambiance in this smaller space. read more

Location: heart of downtown and river walk.A seemingly artsy area of Wilmington, cute shops and eclectic art. You can stroll through the area and find stuff to do. Parking: on the street but there are several municipal parking lots, one right across the street but you are looking at $9 for an hour! They do patrol the area too. So the other option is meter street parking. The latter is almost impossible to find. The coffee shop: outside a couple tables to sit. Inside a few others and they aren't on top of each other. It's not particularly large space but they have a standing bar at the front windows. Music playing, this is a little more busy behind counter. No couches but it's a place you can plug in during your work day for sure and they offer Wi-Fi to customers. The coffee: it's good. Nice smooth coffee. I did it in to getting the banana foster on ice with a 1% milk. No additional sweetener. I wouldn't think to get anything bananas flavor for coffee but all the reviews had me curious. Flavors are OTC bottled syrups. I mean, the coffee is good but I don't get any hint of banana or anything flavor other than sweetened bold coffee with cinnamon on top. I thinkI got a hint of the banana in the 6th or so sip .I got my son the s'mores on ice and that you taste the marshmallow but it's very sweet. UPDATE: went back today and tried the iced French Toast latte with 2% milk. EXCELLENT. Much more prefer this flavor to the banana foster. Again, no extra sweetener needed and it was perfect level of sweet. The food: it's a small shop so they aren't putting forward a large food menu. Muffins, bagels (butter and cream cheese options) and squares or cakes. Very limited assortment. Could be because it's Sunday but I am thinking these are procured. The young girl at register wasn't particularly helpful but to take order and payment so I can't say I printed on this. That said the bagel was actually really enjoyable! Better than my coffee in some ways. Stations: you are fixing it yourself as fast as food preferences or additional sweetener. Added a photo. It was strange set up though. I had to find a garbage pail for everything that was no where near the station. Overall will I go back? Yes, if in the area. I mean there's a lot to do in the area including the river boat tours do I can see my swinging back in. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Wasn't packed on a Saturday morning which I can appreciate. The barista was so nice. Their specials are definitely worth trying! They're different but absolutely delicious. I also got a bagel which you toast yourself at their self-serve station. Something I also love about this place is it isn't overpriced. Coffee and a bagel was less than $10 which is hard to find nowadays! read more

Definitely a contender on my top 5 favorite coffee shops!! I am so sad I don't live by this place:( If I did, I would be going every single day! DELICIOUS coffee and frappes! Support this small, local, family business! They roast their own beans and make their own chai in-house! Plus, all the cups and lids they use are eco-friendly! Every single cup they use they stick their signature logo on it, it's so cute. I got the Bananas Foster Iced Latte, and it was too die for. If you like your coffee a little more on the sweet side, that drink is definitely for you! Other popular favorites are their Chai Latte, S'mores Latte, and Cold Brew. Might I add that their decor and aesthetic is gorgeous! From the brick walls to all the greenery inside, it is the perfect environment to get some work done, study, or simply chat with some friends. read more

I came here on a lunch break to get some work done, and I was pleasantly surprised by how cute the ambiance was! Staff was very sweet, and my matcha latte was perfect. Got it with oat milk and honey for sweetener. The cafe is dog friendly too! read more
Located on Front St. in Downtown Wilmington at City Market, Cheeky Monkey Coffee's specialty lattes are like Autumn in a cup. "S'mores" and "Fall Festival"? Delicious! Cheeky Monkey also makes their own chai, which is what my friend drinks, and she was very impressed. read more
