This spot is very nicely decorated and has a great indie vibe! The staff was really friendly and helpful with questions I had too. Parking a bit crazy but I guess that's the norm here. I initially swung by to satiate my matcha craving, but it wasn't that great. It doesn't have much flavor so I added my own matcha when I went home. Although we have not gone IN the coffee shop we had some provided to us in our houseboat this past week. We always appreciate places when they provide coffee from a small business. A pet friendly coffee spot with nostalgic vibes all over the cafe! The baristas were very pleasant! The service was quick and great! There were heatable food options available in a refrigerator next to the paying counter and the directions were easy to follow on the appliances. The best part about this place, other than the old school Nintendo set up and games available for play, were the shelves of VHS classics available to watch. I saw titles ranging from Titanic, Harry Potter, and Pokemon. I'm sure there was something for someone on that shelf! Art and store merchandise was available for purchase. Generally I like plain lattes or cappuccinos, nothing too sweet, with quality espresso and this drink fills all of those categories. Whole milk is probably delicious too but their soy is also tasty compared to most. I was told they home make their vanilla syrup as well! The cafe itself is very urban and peaceful. There's tons of indoor seating for groups, bar seating for individuals, and patio seating for outdoor meets. Their plant arrangements are beautiful and make for fun, lively outdoor scenery. The brick matches the town feel and the artsy vibe is typical coffee shop while supporting local art vendors. They have board games and fast wifi, outlets and nice background music. The staff I've met have all been very kind and parking (on the street) has never been an issue. The espresso is delicious and ranges from $4-5 something for pretty much all drinks. They carry a local roast too! For food options you've got your GF biscotti, a few bagel varieties (with a toaster or microwave to heat & butter or cream cheese to top), muffins, a couple nut energy bars, and very simple breakfast sandwiches/burritos in the fridge for microwaving. I'd say eat breakfast then come here for coffee and work or meeting with friends. Overall, some of the best espresso drinks in Wilmington! Love the small biz, cafe feel. And respect their appreciation for local roasts and succulents! Stopped by this coffee shop while in town visiting in-laws. They're in walking distance to the coffee shop which was a nice morning stroll. The inside is small but intimate. There's seating as well as a media corner. I ordered the caramel sunrise hit with oatmilk and orders my husband the same thing but iced. I was able to get it decaf which was great to me because I find that hard to get at other small coffee shops. For my husband to not be a coffee drinker he thoroughly enjoyed as well. My husband and I stepped into Luna Caffe after brunch across the street a few years back. It has since become one of our favorite coffee shops in Wilmington. The baristas are always very kind and enjoyable to talk with while we order or wait. The general vibe of the inside is lovely! I've heard great things about Luna, and I'm happy to say they were all true! I stopped in for a chai latte on a freezing cold morning. They are open for takeout and delivery so I ordered and waited outside so other customers could go in. There was a delicious looking selection of bakery items- muffins, lemon pound cake, apple fritters, bagels, and various beverages. The two people working were busting their behinds to get everything done, and brought out everyone's drinks quickly. Mine was so hot it took awhile to cool down enough to drink- perfect for a morning of driving around running errands. It was creamy and delicious, made with almond milk as requested. LOVE this sweet spot in an awesome neighborhood. They have an extensive menu with tons of options for anyone from tea to coffee to smoothies. They have food items from lots of local spots, though I'd love to see that even more expanded. The gamechangers for me recently have been 1) That they've started roasting their own beans and they're AWESOME! I've had to switch to decaf recently and decaf tends to be gross, but their beans make me not miss the caffeine so much. 2) They have online ordering. I know that's a lot for a small business to pull together but I'm so appreciative that they've done it. I generally just get a decaf oat milk latte, but occasionally splurge. Every latte I've had has been great (the sip I had of the cookies and cream was drool-worthy). They do a ton for the Wilmington community. Local art is hanging on the walls for sale, they host an artist's market monthly, I was there one-day when a non-profit asks if they'd sell their records for them and they agreed to. Love seeing that kind of support of others in the area. Wilmington has some great coffee shops now, but many don't roast their own beans so that makes Luna really stand out to me. Love the quiet, peaceful patio outback, too - it's a great spot to get some work done. My one "complaint" is that the WiFi can be a bit spotty - I've had a few times that I've been getting some work done there and had to switch to my phone's hotspot. But for grabbing a cup to go, this is one of my faves. read more

I really need some additional stars. Not because I'm planning to lay out 5 or more....but to offer the middle ground to Luna Cafe as a good starting point. Cafe Luna wants to be a Third Wave Cafe. And to be honest, they aren't quite there yet. Maybe by Wilmington, North Carolina standards. But drive 2 hours to Raleigh, or a little further, to Durham/Chapel Hill....and you will see, that Luna has a little bit of a hill to climb to even get on the radar. (yes,..mixed up metaphors)... Just like my feelings about my first visit. I really had my hopes up high.... and came away deflated ... Luna has a great feel, different seating to facilitate different moods, from study to social. The decor....kinda sparse on personality. Not objectionable, not memorable either. Baked goods? I don't know. Didn't see anything the day I was there. The latte. That's the benchmark for me... Let's see you do your latte before you get third wave cred. Ooops. Uh oh. An espresso, and a latte...served in paper cup to go even when we were staying. Bitter. No bright notes, no milk foam kinda tough. Will most of Wilmington notice. Nope. That's evident due the the high star count. So if I compare to the lower standards that match Wilmington expectations, I'd leave Luna in competition with Port City Java in a slight lead due to PCJ being a soul sucking chain. Will I be back? yeah, maybe... but with lower expectations. read more

Highly impressed with this place! My wife and I just moved here a couple of days ago and are already loving the southern hospitality we have missed in the past few years of living overseas. Will, the owner, along with the other barista working were both super friendly and truly cared about their product. After we had received my wife's drink and sat down to wait for my pour over, Will tested out the apple cider my wife ordered with what was leftover. He then came from behind the counter to let us know it was a bit off with too much nutmeg and insisted he make her another one. Just this simple gesture of care for what he is making speaks on what kind of owner he is and the quality product he produces. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend grabbing a coffee here if you are passing through Wilmington. read more

Cute little cafe that was just a few blocks from where I was staying over the weekend. I decided to give the "Golden Coconut" a try as it was listed as one of the most popular drinks (they only serve it in one size because it's considered a specialty drink) and I loved that the barista gave me the option of "Vegan or Regular". I opted for Regular and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Creamy with bits of coconut in it and the turmeric itself was not too powerful at all. Would recommend it! read more
