I initially swung by to satiate my matcha craving, but it wasn't that great. It doesn't have much flavor so I added my own matcha when I went home. This place was a solid 5 star but the customer service experience took 2 stars away. We were loyal to them for over a decade. We have given them over $5000 of our business... but no more! Our last order, We ordered 40lb of coffee that was worth over $500, and unfortunately one of the 5 lb bags was busted open with beans spilling all over the box and on our porched because whoever packed the (8) 5lb bags (40 lb box) DID NOT reinforced that bags so that it was 1. tightly packed and 2. double taped the box. The bags were literally tossed in a oversized box sent via UPS to California. When we called and emailed them photos of the damaged bag and the beans spilled all over the box (the 1st and only time we have ever complained), they gave us a hard time and nickeled and dimed us over 1 broken bag of beans. They made us send back the beans (at our expense) until we put our foot down. In the end, they refunded us the 1 broken bag and made us send back the broken bag of beans at their expense. Granted they have one of the best priced and best single origin coffee beans in the country, but we will take our business elsewhere.

ZOLA's coffee menu is a unique blend of spiced lattes and especially sourced beans. There's just a couple breakfast bar type food items to choose from. After looking over the menu a few times, a barista stepped out from behind the coffee bar and started talking with me about the menu options. I tried the cumin latte which definitely peaked my mind. I then explored the diverse selection of used and new books in the space. Most of the reading selections were unknown to me, a rare experience. I picked up a journal on women's spirituality. There is something for everyone at ZOLA's.

Dry, stale, and with a flavor that's hard to describe without being unkind. The music was so loud at 7 a.m. on a holiday Monday that you had to shout at the baristas to be heard. And that "beautiful" outdoor area? Every seat and table was wet. Nothing had been wiped down. Hard to believe this place sits at 4.9 stars. I'm doing them a favor by giving them two. Just another mediocre Wilmington spot that's easy to skip next time.

I've been to Blue Cup a few times and definitely love the atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating is amazing especially with the bonus of a drive thru for those who need a quick grab is perfect!
