The place is wedged at the edge of a neighborhood that backs up to one of the main city streets. I believe I saw about six parking spots total in the gravel parking lot. ZOLA's coffee menu is a unique blend of spiced lattes and especially sourced beans. There's just a couple breakfast bar type food items to choose from. After looking over the menu a few times, a barista stepped out from behind the coffee bar and started talking with me about the menu options. I tried the cumin latte which definitely peaked my mind. I then explored the diverse selection of used and new books in the space. Most of the reading selections were unknown to me, a rare experience. I picked up a journal on women's spirituality. There is something for everyone at ZOLA's.

Non-dairy milk options are almond, oat, macadamia nut, pistachio. Tried one of the summer specials, pandan and coconut latte which is made with pandan extract and coconut syrup. Ask them to make it less sweet. The latte was alright. Could've been made either hot or cold. Also tried one of the pastries, a blueberry crumble danish. The danish was the highlight of the visit. It was very good, not overly sweet, tasted fresh. I liked the soft, sweet blueberry crumble in the middle. Besides pastries, in a small display cooler, they have mush oats, baked omelette cups, and a gluten free snack from Cravings. In the back of the coffee shop, there are some comfortable chairs and a small couch. Dim lighting at the tables. They have a loyalty card where you can get a " stamp" for every visit and on the eighth visit, you get a free drink.

They seem to be known for their more flavorful coffees so that may be my mistake, but I find there is room for improvement with the scaling and shot pulling. Overall, I enjoyed my time, but despite the aesthetic, it may just not be my cup of tea express-wise. LOVE the postcards, however. We need more of those!
