***Yelp event*** I came to the help event to the tap and tavern. I have never heard of this restaurant but I love it when a hotel has a separate restaurant. Parking is a bit hard since it is shared with the hotel. Once you find parking you are greeted by the hotel staff and you walk to the restaurant. As you walk by you are greeted by the other stands that YELP had there for the xmas party. The food was great. We had sliders, pizza bread, garlic fries, fish tacos (I'm not a fan of fish but they were great, not fishy at all and had a pico on them and that was great). I ordered a lemonade and a shot of tequila. The bar staff was great. Lots of fruit flies around bar area which is a turn off. Bartender was not very friendly, keeps to himself, not chatty, also disappeared for a while to the back so service wasn't that great. I had the oaxacan after midnight tequila based drink which was strong. Not tasty. Also tried the berry star martini which was a berry vodka based drink - this was delicious. Not too strong, on the sweet side! I opted for the regular fries instead of garlic fries. This was a mistake. Fries were stale, not fresh, should've gone with the garlic fries. Bar servers did not have the bathroom key which was annoying because I wasn't a guest at the hotel so I had to go to the front desk to be let into to restroom each time. Beautiful scenery, great view of the bay and airport. Hotel and bar are right next to the water. Hotel is pretty, very tropical feel inside. Gayle, darling granddaughter and I were here a couple days ago as part of our overnight stay prior to sending the kid back to her parents (non-stop). CONS 1. Service was a bit on the slow side, mostly from the kitchen and bar. +/- 1. Hotel prices. PROS 1. Nice dining room/bar area, giant TVs, and a great view to the bay. 2. A few things to review. Some good and some not. Food orders took a long time to come out. Was here for Thursday to Sunday. This is only Thursday night, not too busy. Took a long time. Drinks were fine. Drink prices as expected, food a little pricey but I get it. The servers didn't seem to understand some of the basic food questions or comments and that was tough. For example, a dairy allergy (meaning lactose intolerance) meant they served burger on a lettuce wrap, and when asked they said it was cause of the egg. I worked in the industry long enough to know to ask if I wasn't sure about something. Eggs are often included in the dairy category but dairy allergies are to milk products, not eggs. But whatever. When we ordered desserts, the garnishes (berries on one, raspberry sauce in another) were absent. When asked, they said "oh the kitchen must be out, it's been busy" but they never told us beforehand, or when they dropped it off. So that felt kindof unfortunate. The desserts were good but maybe not good enough without their garnishes. Raspberry is a major profile and I was glad it wasn't my dessert or I'd have been more upset. We had drinks try to be delivered to us when we didn't order them. We tried to use our evening drink coupons on a bottle of wine for two people but they only have one discount. Then tried to keep the drink coupons we were supposed to use all weekend but the server said "oh you're staying? You want it back?" Only after we asked. Should have asked beforehand. Generally I think of it as below par, which I hate to say, as I think they were trying. The trying got the 2nd star. But they don't know their food allergies, mixing up eggs with lactose, they don't think about guests staying more than one night for their drink tickets, they don't mention if a dish will be different based on things being out of stock, and it feels generally very slow for service. I will see how it is into the weekend, and I don't have much choice otherwise. Also it's pretty noisy, not too bad though for conversation depending on where you sit. read more

Burger was dry, fries were good. chicken sandwich was also dry and the wings were burnt. $15 for a salmon that's meh. When I asked for something a kid can color or draw, he gave us a kids menu you can color. I mentioned "oh wow there's a kids menu this whole time" and waiter replied "yeah it's a hidden menu". Good music though. I suggest if you are a large party, sit separately so you can tip however you want. They get tipped so much that they don't care about the service they provide. read more

Wow!!!! Not expecting a Michelin starred dining experience but was expecting edible food from such a nice hotel. Never had to send a frozen pizza back before so that was a first. Came back re-microwaved, that didn't help. Dining partner ordered a medium cheeseburger that was so overcooked she sent it back to eat the re-microwaved pizza. Kind of wished she kept it because it couldn't have been as bad as the pizza. Other dining partner ordered chicken quesadillas. Tried to hide the pre cooked chicken with a ton of cheese, but that didn't work. Only hope was to hide it all with alcohol but only got one drink in a 90 minute dining (?) experience and server disappeared. Pretty obvious this property couldn't care less about the restaurant because the hotel is full. Thinking a new manager is needed because this restaurant has been completely ignored. What a shame. There were lots of bad reviews for this restaurant so we knew it could be hit or miss. Overpriced? Yep. Short staffed? Yep. But we had no problem with the food or the service. Just be ready to wait a little, sit back and relax. Our party had the burger, the Turkey sandwich and the Mac and cheese. All were good. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Massive spider in our food. Such terrible service. We were talked down to like we were incompetent. We had to shout across the restaurant for any services. A drink spilled and our server walked past us 4 times and didn't assist or even acknowledge us. It had a great view of the ocean and the drinks were good, but the food was terrible. When we brought our complaints to the manager she only took of $50 for the appetizers and we were still left with a $158 bill and they left themselves a $31 tip. Terrible experience. read more

Wow did this place go downhill. We stayed at the Embassy Suites 5 years ago and loved having this as an option. A few things: - The server was awful. She was by herself so they definitely need to get her help but.. she had almost a defensive attitude anytime we asked a question. When we were wanting to leave, she was nowhere to be found so we had to just pay for our meal at the bar - It's hard to screw up a Tavern/Pub burger but this was one of the worst burgers I've had. It tasted like a burned hockey puck. The bacon was clearly microwave bacon and nothing tasted fresh. - My wife ordered the Keto bowl which was unimaginative- just a sparse assortment of vegetables - The cost of this nightmare was equally ridiculous. Let me start by saying The gentleman that answered the phone at the front desk told me that they don't have menus in the room for the restaurant in the hotel (this is inside the Embassy Suites airport waterfront) however they have a QR code why isn't it posted in the room??? So we walked down to the restaurant where we walked in to a beautiful glass lined dining area unfortunately the music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation, seriously!!!! When I asked if they could turn the music down they apologized and told me the management wanted at this level let me say Sean our server was doing the best job possible due to the fact it was busy and he was the ONLY server. He and the bartender did the best job they could do. Unfortunately nothing could go right. Our first round of drinks was wrong because he couldn't hear my order due to the music. We ordered a Buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer we came out quick and was good. Second I ordered a hamburger cooked well done no bun (see photo) hamburger was more medium/medium rare and the Cesar Wedge Salad. Unfortunately those took forever and when I asked Sean where are order was he came to apologize that the kitchen hadn't done it yet so they rushed it and rare hamburger delivered. When Sean came for the check I showed him the 10% off coupon on their YELP site and no one knew how to take it off the bill. The manager Steven from the hotel said they didn't have a coupon, which I showed him, even after showing him the coupon he seemed put out by it. Not great customer service, I was told that it will be taken off my bill at checkout. The food was mediocre all in all, however I do appreciate all the KETO options Other then Sean and the bartender doing the best to keep customers happy the management did a POOR Job. My girlfriends and I had planned a getaway for a birthday celebration and expected a fun experience. upon our arrival we weren't greeted. We were treated like children and disrespected. it wasn't until the end of our meal we discovered a spider inside of our basket of fries we had been sharing among the table. This place is awesome and I'll be back for 2 reasons: 1) The bartender Gabriel is fantastic. Super friendly and welcoming. I always prefer a place where the bartenders actually talk with you about the food and drink rather than just taking your order and giving the look that they're inconvenienced by you. Props to this spot for hiring Gabriel. Dude is a rockstar. 2) If you like plane watching or just looking at views of the bay, then the outdoor patio is superb. Grabbing a beer and plane watching on a nice day is one of my favorite things to do and this is the perfect spot for it. I haven't found spots to compare to this at SFO Airport so I'll be back. The food is good although a little pricey for the quantity but what do you expect in a hotel restaurant. It's not a negative for me but just something to be aware of. This Bar/restaurant is located in the Embassy Suites by the San Francisco airport. The hotel is great but this place has a charm of its own. The drinks are great and the food is awesome. I have ate here many times and have never been disappointed. And the view is awesome. It overlooks San Francisco Bay and the airport. You can see the planes landing and the city off in a distance. A great place to watch the sun go down with a drink. Tonight had the Mac and cheese with hunks of baking and wings. They were perfect. read more

When I explained it was a much larger mess (and showed her my shirt and pants that were wet) she gave me another small pile. No assistance. No larger rag to help wipe up the mess. If the restaurant was full OR if she was the only server I might understand the wait and utter lack of interest in our table. The bar The bartenders are friendly and pay attention to detail. The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a good selection of craft beers. The food/restaurant Pricey but what can one expect from hotel dining? We've eaten here a couple of times and the food has always been amazing. Their side dishes can be improved (or for lack of better wording, upgraded). The pros Excellent location with an amazing view of the Bay. Not utterly loud. You can have a meeting or decent conversation without feeling the need to raise your voice. The cons Customer service can be greatly improved. The waitress we had during our most recent visit was slow (we were a party of 2 and a group of 4 - seated after us - received their food first), she didn't offer any drinks (we had to ask for everything), she didn't come by frequently enough for refills, and we had to flag her down for our check. No apology or explanation for the slow service. Even other wait staff and food servers visited our table more than our own waitress. Everything just seemed to be a drag. The restaurant was not packed and it was disappointing considering all of the other positive aspects of our visit. The bar, food, and view totally saves this place. I would've given them 4-stars; but will limit to 2-stars due to the poor (food) service during our recent visit. read more

Checked into the Embassy Suites around 7:00pm on a Saturday evening. Hungry & tired so opted to grab quick dinner at Tap&Tavern (didn't feel like leaving hotel to go get dinner). We walked into Tap&Tavern and thought OMG it's closed! There was a family of 3 eating THAT'S IT :). My husband walked over asked bartender were they open he said "yes sir sit anywhere" :). The fresh, tasty food as well as the presentation of the food items were awesome. The restaurant ambience is fantastic, the bay view as you are dining is outstanding. You find self parking but we stayed at the hotel so walking down was great. The have four big tvs and full bar and kids menu options. Reasonable price menu for a fresh made menu. If you are in the area you should try this place. We loved there Steak tacos, Nashville chicken sandwich and Turkey, Bacon Baguette.
