Excellent dinner. Thank you Giancarlo and staff. We booked the dinner through The Fork app and sent a message earlier in the day about our kids, allergies to eggs and nuts. Giancarlo responded via email to let us know what pastors and pizza did not have eggs. We were able to order, spaghetti, rigatoni, and any pizza. We really appreciated the early notice. We each ordered a pasta or a pizza, and also split lamb chops at the table. Everything was yummy. The kids ordered the spaghetti all'Amatriciana, Rigatoni alla Genovese, and the Diavola pizza. They all finished their healthy sized portions (especially the pizza) and joked with the wait staff about the amount of Parmesan that our youngest had on his pasta. My wife had the Gnocchi con Nduja e Salsicca (which was so good! And she didn't finish and we brought some home) and I had the Margherita pizza with some of the Lamb Chops. The pizza was a little more doughy than we thought it would be, but it was unique and so flavourful! My eldest som even had a bite. The Lamb Chops smelled and tasted amazing, just the perfect amount of char grill on it. All the staff were friendly. The waitress working the desserts was prepping them right beside our table. That convinced us to get three desserts to share. We had the Gelati, the Belgium Apple Flan, and the After Dinner Mint. Our youngest licked the Mint dessert clean, loved it. The wafers in the Gelati may have had eggs so the allergy free folks in our group ate them. Everything was scrumptious. Great spot, great ambience, and really friendly staff. This place was steady, and it looked like there were a number of locals who frequent the spot. That doesn't surprise him because everything but the spirits was just excellent. Went on a Friday night and was surprised by the loud electronic music thumping through the restaurant. It didn't match the cheesey italian interior one bit! I arrived late into London and was starving so my hotel recommended Taormina since it was close by. They had a rib eye steak that was quite nice - cooked perfectly medium rare like I requested. Eh... it was alright. I was there by myself and I ordered their spare ribs and a Margherita pizza to go. They were extremely polite and friendly and was able to get my order ready with a minimal wait of around 10 minutes. The ribs weren't anything special and as for the pizza, the crust was mush softer that to my liking. Did not enjoy at all. The atmosphere seemed nice from the street but not once you're dining there. The server was rude. The food was really bad- tough, flavorless pasta and our salad was iceberg lettuce with a couple olives and cucumber slices and no salad dressing. You'd be better off at an Olive Garden. read more

I ate dinner here during a trip to London. I must say I'd have never found the place or considered eating here if I hadn't been staying nearby, but I'm glad we found it. My family is Italian, so I consider myself to be fairly picky when it comes to Italian restaurants. This is definitely my favorite Italian restaurant in London. This place always has a crowd, no matter what night or time you go. The staff are very friendly and actually started to remember me after about my 3rd time there. It seems to be a family owned/run place and they are always joking around with each other and in a good mood. I generally order the veal dishes and have not be disappointed yet. Went there for a late Friday night diner. Got quickly greeted and seated. The staff was responsive to my requests and there was one female waiter who helped me connect the wifi so I could check into my flight. Unfortunately there was one male overweight Italian waiter that was very rude and seemed to be almost tossing things at me each time her needed to drop off something at the table like he had to provide service. I was staying down street at the hotel and just by chance walked by here earlier in the day and told myself to come back for dinner and I'm glad I didn't forget. As usual I start off with the Calamari and it was fantastic being from Florida we get good seafood but I was really impressed with it. For the main course I went with some thing I don't normally eat pasta I chose the pesto pasta it was also a smash hit again I was surprised. Fish, pasta, veal, all the favourite Italian fareI've had the vegetarian option which was fine, but I prefer to order meat at this place, as its very nicely done and a treat, if like me, you hardly eat meat anymore. Generous side salads and good choice of wine. The waiters are happy Italians with families of their own, so they are nice to children. If you go enough times, you'll get seated further in, but as this is a place that has a lot of 'regulars', be prepared to be seated near the door. Very busy and central so always book in advance. We stayed in a flat next door for our stay in London. Everyday we would walk past the restaurant going and coming for the day. Wonderful smells as we walked by. The night before we left we decided to eat there. WOW! Wished we had eaten there sooner so would could have had a repeat!! I had the pasta porcini special, my mom had the dover sole. Both were yummy and cooked to perfection. Garden salad was fresh and crisp. Fried calamari was perfect and tender. House red wine was cheap and delicious! A tiny Italian restaurant very near the entrance to the Italian Gardens. They use the purest olive oil I've ever tasted and the portions are generous. My wife got a tortellini with mushrooms & cream sauce. The only reason I'm not giving 5-stars is because the tables are a little too close together. I stumbled upon this restaurant last night with my girlfriend and all i can say is wow !!! Service was quick and very friendly and the food was spot on. This is a wonderful place to have freshly prepare, hot pasta. And the Caprese salad is the perfect size to share with your dinner companion. The place is packed with locals every night, a great sign. The service is exceptional. Even as busy as the place is they never leaving turning your head to see if there is a waiter to serve you. I went here on a Friday night at 7pm with my 9yr old son. We were in London for the weekend and wanted an italian meal. To start with the waiter spilt a full glass of coke over my son , ok an accident but not good for new white trainers! No apology given just an OOPS and another coke, Starter of whitebait was just cooked and not at all crispy, Pizzas were the most bland I have ever. My son had chocolate fudge cake for dessert, this was basically a slice of cold chocolate cake with aerosol cream. Along with 1 small white wine the bill was over £58 which for the rushed service ( I got the impression that children were not particularily welcome in the evening) and quality of food I think was very over priced. read more

It's awful! Avoid Taormina Italian Restaurant in London! How the romantic dinner for 2 in Taormina Italian Restaurant, London, turned out to be a huge disappointment for 2. Being a total novice to vouchers and coupon discounts, I have purchased a promo voucher for "£19 for a two-course Italian meal for two at Taormina worth up to £47.50 - save up to 60% on main courses, desserts, wine and coffees!" . In anticipation of a romantic dinner and fine Italian cuisine, my boyfriend and I went to Taormina on Friday evening only to learn that this would be a total disaster. It only took another 10 minutes for an extremely unpleasant experience to unfold. (Tip to all: when you get to an Italian restaurant on Friday, 7pm and find it empty - beware, it's not a good sign.) Instead of a warm welcome that you get from the host, their staff told us that the offer is not valid on Fridays despite the fact that we reserved and mentioned the discount a night before. Then they told us the promotion is only valid for pasta and pizza and a bottle of vine - absolute shock to us considering that none of this was advertised neither on the offer nor on the website. So the non-so-friendly staff was arguing with us saying that they have no idea about this promotion (!) and is not going to recognize it. We asked to speak to the manager who was available only by phone and when explained the situation he said that he also no idea about this offer and that "we are trying to steal from him!" Lastly, we decided to leave the place and asked for the £19 back that we paid through your website - and they completely refused to compensate us stating that they got no money from this promotion. I was so disappointed with this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone. We were not made to feel welcome, the waiter had no manners, snapped "what do you want?" "drink?" Whilst we were eating our starter, the waiter kept coming over to see if we had finished, the second we had finished, they whipped away the plates and the main course came immediately. Not even time to breathe. I had spag bol. It was tasteless, would have been more enjoyable if it had come from a tin! The music was 80's pop. Not what you would expect from an Italian restaurant.
