This is a restaurant attached to (and as part of) Mercure London Hyde Park. As hotel guests we came here for breakfast. Small buffet, but they have a menu where you can order hot items; not bad. They bring tea, etc. Juice is self service. The place is just loud. Service is fast, though breakfast is nothing to write home about. My bestie and I were hungry after our nap from doing activities. We walked over from our hotel to the stop of shops and restaurants. We came across this place and had a preview of their menu. When we saw food we would like to try we walked in. We were sat almost immediately. It was a little slow when we first arrived but soon picked up. The staff was super friendly and the place gave a quaint home like feel. We sat down and ordered some cocktails and water. We didn't want to stuff ourselves so we order the margarita pizza and an order of fries to share. Everything came out pretty quickly. We were offered a spicy oil for our meal. The guy said it was spice but to be honest it was on the more mild side of spicy. I like spicy food and this wasn't spicy enough for me. Maybe some chili pepper flakes mixed in what have been the spicy I was expecting. My friend and I enjoyed our meal and the service. I think everything was good. The reason for my four stars was because the basil (although fresh) was scarce in my pizza. The guy also had to substitute the drink we ordered with a syrup he had in stock because the one the drink calls for wasn't available. Also, who wants to pay £4 for a bottle of water to share. Crazy. We were very hungry after a long day of flying and found this spot. The folks we talked with were pretty nice, and we were seated quickly. There wasn't many people around so we were able to get the order in and get food quick as well. We started off with some drinks and they tasted very nice. For our drinks, he said he was missing an ingredient, but we were able to substitute it with something else (one was strawberry and other pineapple). We appreciated him doing that for us. The margarita pizza itself was fine. It seemed more like a cheese pizza, but it wasn't bad. I wish it had more basil instead of 4 leaves, but we ate it without issue. He did give us this chili oil we can put on the pizza to make it a bit spicy. It wasn't really spicy to me but tasted fine either way. Also ordered fries, which were also good. After we were done eating there was this bar code we can scan at our table that we can just pay that way instead of waiting for the waiter which i appreciate as towards the end the place started getting busy. We stayed at the Rove Hotel on Norfolk Square and found this little place. Beautiful inside but we loved the garden feel outside! We started with the most delicious tiramisu martini and garlic dough balls, dinner was Gambaroni & 4 cheese baked Mac. We finished with Tiramisu and Cookie Sunday dessert. Stopped by for a quick dinner on the way back to the hotel and stopped by Bella Italia. The service was reasonable and the food was enjoyable. They did give us a little bit of a hard time wanting to eat outdoors because of the beautiful weather but eventually they gave in and let us. read more

What a painful service experience we had at Bella Italia on Queensway. The place was busy on a Monday evening for dinner. Waiting became the norm at Bella Italia. We waited to be seated, waited for our orders, waited for the meal, waited for the bill, waited to pay. Two hours at this restaurant could have been boiled down to no more than 45 minutes. There was one poor lady doing everything including cleaning tables, and she just could not keep up with taking orders, serving orders, clearing tabs, and cleaning tables. Customers took the brunt of the lack of service by excruciating waits. The food was decent and the value was good. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant because of the terrible service. read more

I cant rave enough about this restaurant. My experience from start to finish was amazing. Great wait staff hands down were incredible. Very accommodating and kid friendly. The food was amaaaazing. The drinks were awesome and the everyhing was just wow. We did have an issue with figure out wether the chicken strips that came out were chicken or fish because the child eating them is severly allergic to fish, the whole staff came out immediately to resolve the issue and make sure that nothing was ingested in case of a reaction. ( It was in fact chicken we all laughed after) but there quick action could have possibly saved a life. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress she was an angel. read more

Wife and I stopped in at the end of a long day. I went with the Pollo Picante Pizza and wife had a pasta dish. Shared a bottle of wine and desert. When in London (and Queensway) visit Bella Italia. At least we do. For a restaurant chain, this is excellent and staff is very friendly. We are risotto with prawns and chicken pasta - both steaming hot. We will keep visiting here in the future as well. read more

I was there today and can just say that it was one of my worst experiences. The ambiance was probably the only thing, that was quite good. We didn't get noticed for about 20 minutes. Then we waved at the staff, to get a menu. My accompaniment ordered some mushrooms in cheese sauce and I ordered a tomato soup. (I'm a vegan and explicitly asked if it was vegan and they told me it was.) The drinks didn't seem to come either and although we just ordered small things they needed 45 minutes and the food came together with the drinks! 45 minutes for a water and a beer! I took 3 spoons until I noticed, that their had to be cream in the soup. So I had to walk to the waiter (because he didn't notice me again) and asked him again, if he was completely sure, there wouldn't be cream in it. (Again, I already asked him when I ordered and he said he'd be sure it was vegan). So he checked with the kitchen. Turns out there was indeed cream in it. That's an absolute no go. It made me feel horrible to eat something that's against my ethical believes, although I had asked if it was vegan. They then replaced it with a soup without cream (but a 1 inch layer of oil), that tasted okay, but not special or good. My accompaniment said that her food was okay too, but not that great either. The prices are also too high and the staff was completely overloaded and seemed really unprofessional. One server was nice and the other one was just okay. It also seemed really touristy. My wife and I had lunch there today and loved it. Had the pasta carbonara and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Minestrone soup very tasty. Somewhat disappointed in the Caprese salad as they served small cherry tomatoes that didn't have a lot of flavor although the mozzarella was fresh. Vanilla gelato was the perfect dessert.
