Margherita pizza
Betsy B.

Went with family for lunch. It was pleasant inside especially with a breeze near the door. Service was excellent. I had the de amici's pizza that had cheese, rocket and prosciutto. It was quite good and I especially liked the crust. One person had the penne and another had the margherita pizza. We enjoyed the meal. Two had desserts and liked them. It was a good meal.

Lasagne Della Casa

This is such a wonderful local gem - the kind that you love to stumble upon when you travel - that serves authentic Italian food on Notting Hill Gate, near Kensington Gardens (Tube: Notting Hill Gate or Queensway). Scaloppa alla Milanese: This is aka veal Milanese and is one of Milan's most famous local dishes. The veal was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The breading was golden brown and slightly crispy; the meat was moist, flavorful and very tender. The dish was accompanied by a serving of fresh sautéed green beans and some amazing roasted potatoes. Lasagne Della Casa: It's a traditional lasagna completely unlike those that we usually see, which are baked in a large pan from which small square or rectangular servings are carved from. This lasagna was baked freshly and individually in a small baking dish (please see picture) and I have never had lasagna this fresh before - that the sauce and cheese were still bubbling when the dish was brought to the table. It was absolutely delicious and delightful. I will definitely return to this restaurant just for the lasagna alone! This was a solid 4-star dining experience, but I am rounding it up to 5 stars because of the service. We got to the restaurant just before closing time and were surprised to see how welcoming and hospitable they were. Service was friendly, attentive, and not one bit rushed. This is the kind of family-run neighborhood gems that locals love to support, and tourist are fortunate to stumble upon.

This is a really cute restaurant. The wonderful smells of an Italian kitchen entice you in, and there is warm mood lighting. The decor definitely had that Italian feel. Unfortunately, service was sub par; I could tell our waitress was eager to go home and was more focused on closing up shop than tending to us so we could be on our merry way. But, this has been my experience in most restaurants here so I'm not too put off about it. Luckily she went home and it must have been the manager who served us after her departure. He was much better at re-filling our water glasses promptly. I experienced some fleeting nervousness about leaving hungry once our meals were presented. The spaghetti carbonara looked very small, but it turned out the bowl was deeper than it appeared to be, and the pollo cacciatora (a special that day) that arrived two minutes later was adequate and came with sides. The food was well done, but nothing spectacular. Note that you should have a bottle of wine when you dine here. This made me progressively happier about the food's taste and I'm sure it made it easier to feel full in the end.

We had a lovely dinner here with excellent service. This is a wonderful family owned restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

We picked this restaurant for dinner during a recent trip to London based on a review on Yelp and…read moreit lived up to expectations! It is a small sit, so reservations are a must, although they did accommodate some walk-ins. Everything was freshly made which added to an elevated experience. Service was perfect balance of being prepared to execute as well as being able to spending time getting to know each other. This palace is highly recommended!

This place was quite good but I don't think it was amazing and here's why:…read more 1 - you have to be a BIG fan of pecorino cheese. My mom is, which is why we went but there are rather limited options, at least on pasta courses, that don't include pecorino. 2 - we tried three different pasta dishes. What made them truly stand out was the freshness of the pasta. That said, the sauces weren't remarkable. I tried a special pasta with pecorino, butternut squash, and mushrooms which was nice and not heavy but not partial flavorful. 3 - the ambiance is great if you like a small restaurant- with maybe 10 tables and 500 sq ft of space, this restaurant has character and charm. 4 - the service was outstanding. The staff were kind and efficient. 5 - the dessert was just OK - had some scoops of ice cream and the peanutella was outstanding while the strawberry and the pistachio were just fine. 6 - the appetizer cheese plate was the real highlight of the night here. Fresh cold cuts and cheese with the most wonderful fig jam. All in all; this is a good stop and you certainly won't have a bad experience! Perhaps just not the most notable.

Small buffet, but they have a menu where you can order hot items; not bad. They bring tea, etc. Juice is self service. The place is just loud. We came across this place and had a preview of their menu. When we saw food we would like to try we walked in. We were sat almost immediately. It was a little slow when we first arrived but soon picked up. The staff was super friendly and the place gave a quaint home like feel. We sat down and ordered some cocktails and water. We didn't want to stuff ourselves so we order the margarita pizza and an order of fries to share. Everything came out pretty quickly. We were offered a spicy oil for our meal. The guy said it was spice but to be honest it was on the more mild side of spicy. I like spicy food and this wasn't spicy enough for me. Maybe some chili pepper flakes mixed in what have been the spicy I was expecting. My friend and I enjoyed our meal and the service. I think everything was good. The reason for my four stars was because the basil (although fresh) was scarce in my pizza. The guy also had to substitute the drink we ordered with a syrup he had in stock because the one the drink calls for wasn't available. Also, who wants to pay £4 for a bottle of water to share. Crazy. Other then those small criticisms I would come back. I think it's worth coming back to. Give them a try and judge for yourself. My tastebuds and stomach were very happy.

Excellent dinner. Thank you Giancarlo and staff…read more We booked the dinner through The Fork app and sent a message earlier in the day about our kids, allergies to eggs and nuts. Giancarlo responded via email to let us know what pastors and pizza did not have eggs. We were able to order, spaghetti, rigatoni, and any pizza. We really appreciated the early notice. We each ordered a pasta or a pizza, and also split lamb chops at the table. Everything was yummy. The kids ordered the spaghetti all'Amatriciana, Rigatoni alla Genovese, and the Diavola pizza. They all finished their healthy sized portions (especially the pizza) and joked with the wait staff about the amount of Parmesan that our youngest had on his pasta. My wife had the Gnocchi con Nduja e Salsicca (which was so good! And she didn't finish and we brought some home) and I had the Margherita pizza with some of the Lamb Chops. The pizza was a little more doughy than we thought it would be, but it was unique and so flavourful! My eldest som even had a bite. The Lamb Chops smelled and tasted amazing, just the perfect amount of char grill on it. All the staff were friendly. The waitress working the desserts was prepping them right beside our table. That convinced us to get three desserts to share. We had the Gelati, the Belgium Apple Flan, and the After Dinner Mint. Our youngest licked the Mint dessert clean, loved it. The wafers in the Gelati may have had eggs so the allergy free folks in our group ate them. Everything was scrumptious. Great spot, great ambience, and really friendly staff. This place was steady, and it looked like there were a number of locals who frequent the spot. That doesn't surprise him because everything but the spirits was just excellent. Thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful night.
