How can anyone say anything negative about this place! The Tanger Outlets out the best in name brand shopping. They offer top designers at a discounted price. I have been going to the Riverhead location for years. They are also clean and well kept. They have a huge staff on premise cleaning daily. This place operates with much class. They even offer a shuttle if your tired of walking there two large facilities. I also enjoyed the food court. They have great choices to choose from. The vending machines also take credit card, What more do I need to say, I love that because I never carry cash! They are open late too, you never have to feel rushed. This is a great place to shop for a birthday gift or a gift for a loved one. I never realized that there are Tanger's all over the country, but trust me I will go to each one. Regular stores masquerading as an outlet mall. Don't be fooled by the name, there are no bargains to be had here. The prices can be much better at a Macy's one day sale and if you are going without any plan, you are going to be doing a lot of walking. When this place first opened way back when, they did have great deals. Slowly over time though the deals seemed to be less of a bargain and now, for what you are going to spend in gasoline, you might as well go to your local mall and you'll come out ahead. You can forget it around the holidays when the masses of sheeple come out and totally jam up the entire area. Avoid at all costs - if you are going to drive 1.5 hours from NYC, you are better off going 2 hours out to the Crossings on route 80 in Pennsylvania -much better deals and no sales tax! read more

I remember when this place was brand new and every one was wondering what the hell was going to be in there. Then I remember when they built Tanger II and every one freaked out of sheer happiness some more. I still love this place. Way better than the Deer Park outlets (see the review on my profile before this one). I love how there are 2 centers on one piece of land. They have a great selection of stores. Parking isn't too bad if you get there bright and early. Only downside is that it's in east bumblef*ck aka Riverhead. The only stores that keep me coming back are the Pottery Barn Outlet and Restoration Hardware Outlet. All of the other stores seem to have regular store prices and poor selection under the disguise of being called an outlet center. There is a great selection of stores here ... everything from Polo by Ralph Lauren to Express to Armani. Lots of high end brands mixed with low end brands. A lot of the stores like Uggs and True Religion jeans seem to be clearing centers for all the bad products that didn't sell in the regular stores ... or where all the weird sizes go that don't sell well. Also, the prices are pretty much the same in many of the stores as the sale racks at the regular stores in the mall. I was pretty surprised to see that Polo by Ralph Lauren didn't even HAVE a clearance rack ... everthing was regular priced. They used to have one of the best clearance racks I've seen and years ago I used to find Purple Label sportcoats and RRL jeans at hundreds or even thousands of dollars off retail. Now, it seems to be a larger version of what you'd find in a Macy's department store with no bargains. They have a coupon book for $5 (free with AAA) which is pretty useless. Most of the coupons you have to spend $250 to save $25 ... or the coupons don't apply to sale merchandise. It is impossible to find anything at stores like Saks 5th Outlet or Hugo Boss where you can actually use the coupon because everything seems to be 'excluded' in the fine print. The good stores like Restoration Hardware, Nike, Pottery Barn, etc. don't even offer coupons in the book. If you are in the market for home furnishings, you can save hundreds of dollars or more at the Pottery Barn outlet. This is one of the only outlet stores in the country for the brand and often have amazing deals on furniture and rugs. I always hate going in there because I will see an absolutely amazing deal on a couch, chair or table and then not be able to bring it home because they don't ship. The layout of the mall is a bit weird ... two sections with huge parking lots in between the stores. The cars zig zag through these huge parking lots because the lanes are long, which makes it very dangerous to drive through. I do find that you have to get in your car and drive from one section to the next which means about 4 or 5 car trips within each section. There are some restaurants nearby ... don't hit up the food court. There is a Panera or Applebee's right down the road ... or for more fine dining, try the Riverhead Project or any of the ones on Main Street in Riverhead. The further out you go towards the wine trail, the better the restaurants will get.The food court in the mall has mostly your blah Asian kiosks and sandwich stands. I'm surprised they don't have an actual restaurant in the mall. read more

Tanger Outlets was OK, i am not a Big Fan of shopping in general, i mostly do all of my shopping on-line in search of unique items. Tanger outlets have a variety of stores and Brands to choose from, for all of your shopping need, mostly all the top brands are located at this outlet. Each offering Good deals and super low mark downs and discounts, which is good if you are in search of Awesome deals. This outlet is located outdoors which is was pretty cool. I lived on Lawng Eyeluhnd for 8 years...so you know that I love Tanger Outlets! And the original, out in Riverhead! I'm not talking about that fancy shmancy new center in Deer Park. The Tanger Riverhead Outlet Center is comprised of tons of great stores...Old Navy, Kenneth Cole, Steve Madden, 9 West, Express, H&M, Aerie, West Elm, 2B Bebe, Coach, Juicy Couture, Zumiez, etc. And yes, buy the coupon book! It is definitely worth it and will save you at least $10. You will save way more than you spend on the book. I love this place because they also have a Pepperidge Farm Store (with tons of treats for discounted prices) and they also have a Nathan's in the food court. So yeah, this Outlet Center might not be as bright, sparkly and fancy as the Deer Park one...but I feel like this one is more of an "outlet." You'll definitely find way more deals and it isn't as crowded. read more

This place is HUGE. There really is an enormous selection of stores and goods, so it's a treat to go and outlet shop at Riverhead. If you go online and just take a look at the number of stores at this location, it's incredible. I personally didn't find that the prices were that great when I went. I understand that it could be a function of timing or luck. Sometimes you just don't find great deals outlet shopping, and it's not a function of which outlet you went to, but more a function of the stores and when you went shopping. Some downsides: 1. They are doing construction in front of Banana Republic, and given that most people are walking from store to store, it's a little dangerous and inconvenient. I definitely got wood dust in my eye. 2. The parking lot is enormous. But somehow it still takes time to find a parking spot. 3. The whole place is huge, not just in stores but also in square footage. So there will be a lot of walking to do. read more

This is a pretty average outlet with a crazy amount of stores. You will find all the popular stores such as Coach, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley, Calvin Klein, Loft, American Eagle and other huge name brands. For my most recent visit, I was searching for an interview outfit and was able to find very professional pants, shirt, but no jacket/blazer. We visited on Labor Day after driving from Montauk. Some shops are closed due to the pandemic. Many stores had decent sales and food court was okay. Some stores didn't have any notice of their store hours during Labor Day and were closed when we got there. We didn't shop much here but looked around at some stores. Not the best place to go shopping but it's the only outlet in eastern Long Island. read more

Looking for something to do on a rainy Sunday? Or even a sunny summer Wednesday? Tanger Outlets is for you. Came here for a little retail therapy and was cured! At Tanger, you can find a bargain and then in other stores not so much. My boyfriend and I hit up most of the stores on that said rainy Sunday and walked out with some great merch! We really scored at Vans (buy one get one 50% off,) Aeropostale, Old Navy, Gap and Converse. They really had deals. The "mall" is outside, but all roofed-in so we didn't get wet as we went from shop to shop. In Suffolk County, plastic bags are now 5¢ so BYOB (bring your own bags!) There is a food court to grab a bite, soda & vending machines, benches and bathrooms along the way for your convenience. They also sell coupon books for sale or you can download an app which helps you locate stores. They also have digital coupons on the app (it costs also.) My family and I have been going to these outlets for years and they have gradually improved over the years- this place has a lot of designer outlets with current and relevant pieces and its all cheaper then Woodbury Commons. Some of my faves are: Saks 5th Ave Off 5th: good deals on Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff, Wildfox, Free People to name a few... this place is huge so if you have the patience to dig around you will find some pieces. Barneys NY Outlet: higher end brands then the above mentioned actually looks and feels like a Barneys and is not cluttered at all...good deals Cosmetics Company: this place sells discontinued and limited edition MAC! (I snagged a sold out Riri Hearts MAC Palette today) along with Smashbox, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown and more at seriously discounted prices. Nike: this store is HUGE and they have a TON of shoes including Free Runs, Jordans, Ski Hi's. Ugg: my family mainly gets all our Ugg boots here every season- they have the classics at really good prices and a bunch of limited edition styles and colors for hella cheap. They also have a Coach and a Michael Kors...if you're into that. My mom also comes here all the time for home and kitchen deals from Williams Sonoma, West Elm and Le Creust- all are HUGE. First outlet I had ever been to- definitely a good way to start! I like this outlet a lot because of the layout. It is a large circle so you can see all of the stores in front of you. There are some stores you have to drive to, but for the most part, you can park in one place and go through the whole outlet without having to go back to the car. There are some outlets where, if you've never been there, you have to keep looking at maps to see where you are and what stores are around. This outlet has a huge selection of stores such as Charlotte Russe, Victoria Secret, Old Navy, Yankee Candle, Steve Madden, Aldo, Nike, etc. (Check website for full list). Hmmm...I love outlets and we always usually find some great deals but this location was so busy with cars and people walking between traffic that we couldn't enjoy ourselves. They have traffic lights in different places that only seem to add to the chaos. It took forever to go from one end to the other because of this. This is my third visit to this location and I must add that the discounts doesn't seem to be anything significant. I do however love the layout, the cleanliness and the abundance of parking provided by the outlet. They do offer the coupon book but in my experience there is a required minimum purchase to make before those coupons apply. If you are a triple A member do get it otherwise if you're planning on splurging on your day at the outlet, the 5 dollars is worth the investment as you may encounter coupons that would be worth your while. The layout is a bit weird, long areas, but it's easier to find parking then you'd think. Went out to the Tanger Mall yesterday with my wife, She had certain stores she had to go to and I had my own that i need to go to. Overall there is a ton of stores to choose from something for everyone. They run sales all time, And the prices are generally great anyway. Parking Lot in both Tanger 1 & Tanger 2 is huge so there is tons of parking. The place is huge so expect to do some walking. Only issue I had was the lack of shade, as there is no protection from the Sun and I was burning up on that mid 90 degree weather that day. Great place to come for holiday shopping. This place has two sections: Tanger 1 and Tanger 2. However, the choices are limited and not as vast as Woodbury Outlets. The drive time are almost similar: ~1hr. Therefore, if possible, go to Woodbury Outlets for more choices and varieties. If you got no other choice, then come to Tanger Outlets for shopping. My absolute favorite trip out far east to make while in Long Island, there is Tanger I and Tanger II last I went which was 2013. Going back soon, but you will get in a good workout, your cash, cards and your legs. You have to arrive early and even then you can finish up to Tanger II, the other section with half of it done by 6pm. My suggestion is to arrive by 9-10am if you can, so you can get the full effect. Has a TON of stores! You will not be bored, you will be begging that you had a money tree in your purse or car. NOW.. the ONLY skyscrapers to be seen.. were hay stacks and windmills. The Rising Sun Touched Farmers fields and meadows dotted with deer... AMAZEMENT.. on my wife's face grew she said she couldn't believe that LONG..Island was SO BEAUTIFUL and untouched just a few hours from Mayhem of THE CITY'S.. metropolis. The The Cars on THE LIE.. GREW.. FEWER and fewer ... The SUMMER Sun in the East was warm and magical... I KNEW we would be Going to the VERY LAST EXIT.. on the highway ... and then a little more. My wife was VERY eager to see the Riverhead mall that she had heard SO much about from all her FLUSHING Friends... And we were THERE... THE journey that had taken our forefathers DAYS on a perilous Rocky Road ...with Highwaymen and Indians ...now those times GONE ... wife stretched as we pulled into the parking lot and she got out of the car... MY wife looked around seeing ALL the NAMES of the DESIGNERS clothing that she dreamed about owning...FROM when she was a child... COACH .. POLO ..Brooks Brothers .. NIKE... Kate Spade... I am relieved as I know that the skirts are $6 in here .. NOT $650 ... LIKE in Neiman Marcus. Dear wife then tells me she would like me to get LOST.. for a couple hours.. GO shopping on my own.. or hang out in the car... this is where the Miller's Ale House would come in so Handy.. like the one at the Deer Park Outlet... but alas I do not see any beer houses or bars.. Must mention that this is one of my favorite shopping hotspots. A very large variety of first class shops. About an hour drive from New York City. Spacious with comfortable parking spaces. Recommends when you come to purchase the coupons book in offices ($ 5), which gives significant discounts to most stores (the book is in the offices and can be reviewed before the purchase). Anyone who knows that he will arrive several times can already purchase a customer club/membership and then it's 10$ for life and each time you get there the coupons book is free (with few other free stuff you get like when you collect points, birthday etc. In addition, you receive 4 coupons at each purchase, that giving you in some stores a 25% (!)discount on a specific product and shop. I've spent many a Saturday of my youth waking up at 7am to pile into the car with my mom and her co-workers to drive 2 hours and go shopping at Tanger. My mom was an outlet mall fanatic, so naturally that same affinity was instilled in me from a young age. However, I never quite got the appeal of driving such a long distance just to shop, so I had to knock off a few stars just for the sheer personal agony of the commute. I also didn't enjoy this mall as much because there weren't that many stores that appealed to my younger self, so I always wound up shopping for about an hour then sitting in the car bored for the rest of the day waiting for my mom to finish. Tanger is a fairly large mall with a ton of stores. This location is divided into two semi-circle sections, so on a map it's basically shaped like the golden arches at Mickey Ds. The prices to me are just okay (not dirt cheap, but you will find most things for 30%-75% off). I wouldn't say that this mall has a particularly broad sampling of stores targeted to any specific demo, nor is it organized in any identifiable way... it's moreso a little bit of this and that thrown randomly about. You'll find an expensive designer store next to a Payless, Claire's & Abercrombie. Basically there's no order but there's something for everyone. Now that I'm older, I have the luxury of saying no whenever my mom plans a trip out to Tanger. I personally don't think it's worth the trip if you're coming from the NYC area like me. There are plenty of other closer malls with comparable deals, so save yourself the gas and the headache. read more

I prefer coming to this Tanger Outlet as opposed to the Deer Park one because I feel they have more selection/better stores. But when it comes to sales, for me it's a hit or miss. Plenty of parking here (2 big lots for their two sections). I guess the only cons would be that the food court and vending machines ($2 for a bottle) are overpriced (not surprising) and it's completely outdoors with the exception of the sidewalk that has a "roof" thingamabob, whatever that's called. So eat before you get here unless you want to spend an arm and leg on food/drinks. There ARE water fountains at the bathroom areas so if anything you have that to keep you hydrated. I think they've recently renovated areas throughout the place because there's a fireplace by one of the food courts and the seating is nice at this outlet! Good for the husbands that sit around waiting for their wives to shop haha. read more

Trying stuff on and going from store to store is not my thing, but I promised a friend I would go with her. 50 minutes to get there (love the HOV lane), we had our map and we were ready to go. We get there and the parking lot was full (good times) so we had to park in this deserted section. We decided to hit up tanger one first, good god I think we spent 4 hours just in that one area. I was ready to shoot myself. Too lazy to walk It took us 20 minutes to find a spot in tanger two and once again we spent another 4 hours in tanger two...Well my friend did ( I was passed out on one of the benches) Was it worth it?? Hell no. I mean I found some good deals, but nothing mind blowing. I suggest printing a map, many of the stores are not outlets. Best deals were at Old navy, Coach, Cole Haan and Banana Republic, everything else was a waste of time. The food court in tanger one was really small, but I suggest eating at Wok & Roll, food was pretty good. I don't think I will ever be back, just wasn't worth it. read more

I don't understand why people like Tanger Outlet Center at Riverhead. The layout of the Outlet Center at Riverhead is a nightmare. There are two separate sections of the outlet center which means if you want to visit several stores, you might have to get back into your car and drive from one parking lot to another parking lot to get to other stores. This is not an easy feat when there is holiday traffic. Whose bright idea was this to make people drive to different parking lots to get to stores? Usually when you go to a mall, you need to just park once and go shopping...no, not at Tanger Outlets at Riverhead! It's ridiculous here. And the drive out here is not worth your time and gas money if you are coming from NYC. There is another Tanger Outlet Center closer to the city at Deer Park. And if you are hungry? The food at the outlet center is not too good. You will need to drive out of the outlet center to get better food. I suggest you eat before you shop and eat after because getting out of the parking lot can be a nightmare if it is crowded. read more

I don't know why people love this mall. After years of being too lazy to drive my ass to Riverhead (come on, it's fucking Riverhead!), I finally visited this outlet mall since I needed to kill a shitload of time before an event nearby. What's my take? Well the shops are pretty much what you find in any outlet mall. Here they still lean more towards the broad consumer (read - not so many luxury stores). I wasn't impressed by the inventory. Unlike some excellent malls like Leesburg Commons, many of the stores here didn't exactly have a good variety of sizes. Even Woodbury has better stores and more sizing options IMO (which is interesting since I often bitch about WC not having a lot of sizes). I also don't like the way the mall is divided. It has 2 distinct areas, which are not exactly organized in any meaningful manner. I mean, what the fuck? You mean to tell me if I want to check out the Gap and I'm at the Crocs store, I have to drive to another section? At least make it somehow within walking distance? The architect of this place should be shot. At the very least, organize it so that certain genres are sensibly placed close to each other. Unlike Woodbury and other more logical malls (where you park on the outside of the mall and walk from store to store), here you have two giant triangle shaped series of stores which makes it virtually painful to walk from one end of the mall to the other. Bottom line, unless the stores you want are adjacent to each other, be prepared to walk a ridiculous distance from one place to another, or worse yet, drive to another part of the damn mall just to get to where you want to go. The food court here sucks. It's tiny and I swear the people who work at McDonald's are idiots. How do you have a tiny stall with such a big staff and you can't get your shit together? 3 people should not be waiting for 15 minutes for an ice cream cone (1 each!!) just because nobody has any clue who's job it is to get the damn cones? For those of you who live nearby and need to go outlet shopping, well I can understand why you'd go here. For those of you who live 100 miles away, don't listen to the people who say "man this place is awesome". Fuck them. If you don't live nearby, don't bother hauling your ass and wasting your gas money coming here. There are many other malls that are far better than this architectural nightmare. read more

Tanger Outlets are just like typical outlets.. they sell things that are either overstocked or out of date. With that being said its a hit or miss. If you are looking to score some designer names at a discounted price then I would def head over here first. I know the Coach and Michael Kors stores have purses at discounted prices...but then again dont expect them to be $50. You still have to pay a good $150-400 for a purse. I am a frequent shopper and have worked at various stores here. Tangers good for shopping. Only downside, the foodcourt is way overpriced. I'll tell you what I know about some of the stores NIKE: always has great sales around holiday times like 40% additional off clearance apparel and 30% off clearance shoes. And you find decent stuff on clearance too. I've bought running tanktops and bras that were originally $30 for only $5. Sometimes the mens tees on these clearance sales are only $2. Good sales. TIP: they do not carry newer items, everything is older season. COACH: go to coach!! They seem to always have sales going on. You can get nice bags that were originally like $250 for only $70. I've done it about 4 times in the past couple years. VICTORIA SECRET: ehhhh. Not a fan. Occasionally you can find some good sales here but I find all the things they carry aren't as nice as whats in their regular stores. Plus the layout is very cluttered and messy, hard to sift through bins and such to find what you want. JUICY COUTURE: decent sales here on occasion. I bought a bag that was originally $200 for $80 and was happy about that. Have also found those track jumpsuit outfits on sale too. CHARLOTTE RUSSE: their prices have gone up over the last few years, but the quality of their clothes seems to have remained the same. I go here for just the bar/club outfits really (something I won't wear that often) because there reg clothes won't last long. Usually holes appear in sweaters and shirts and the biggest thing: the zippers on their clothes/dresses always break! But like I said, its pretty cheap and its good to go here if you just want a cute shirt for the bar. read more
