Prince George's County deserved to get an outlet like Tanger Outlets. Way past due. But I am so glad it's here. Great deals to be had. Great variety of stores. Good place for a walk, a coffee, and an easy walk , bike ride or shuttle down to the National Harbor. Make sure to slow down and take a look at some of the historical items that they have around. This would be 5 stars if there was some food stores. Starbucks and aunt Annie's has it locked down. But again, you could always just take a walk down to the National Harbor will your find plenty food. You know, now that I think about it...walking down here in the evening with the music in the background is actually kind of romantic. Keep up the strong police presence. They have plenty of shops of all varieties, and fairly good deals around the holidays although not necessarily at other times. So thought the whole meaning of Outlet was to get a better deal than the store. This is so not the case here. Unless you shop only clearance you may find the outlets worth it. The prices are not competitive...just got the store. It will make you mad if you travel to get to this outlet to find prices very similar to your local store. During holidays it's a different story. They are packed and everyone has sales for the most part. They have inventory and deals you can't find in the stores. Parking is set up nicely, close to the store so you don't have to walk far at all.The location is great! You have then MGM Grand there, and the National Harbor right there. So the area will be crazy packed during the holidays. You really have to look for your delas, but this is an outlet so that shouldn't be the case. I will visit again near the holidays but really should just go to the one is Charleston. Now that one has deals galore! That was my least favorite so far but have enjoyed others. read more

Overall, the mall is spacious, pristine, and easy to navigate. However, the selection of stores is not as good as what you can find at other outlet malls in the area. Many of the stores look like the aftermath of a Black Friday sale. I saw merchandise haphazardly tossed onto displays, making them look like piles of laundry. Not appealing! read more

Its a nice outlet with decent stores and on the right day you will find good deals. Parking at Tanger Outlets National Harbor is not the best part of the place, and can take longer than you night expect. I searched online before coming here, hoping to get some coupons or deals, couldn't find any info about it. Luckily we still decided to come here and it was a wise decision. We did find some end of season sells that saved us money. To sum things this is a good outlet, and a lot is about the day you will come here. read more

AVOID TOMMY HILFIGER at all cost. Staff is the most disrespectful I've ever encountered in my 40+ yrs on this earth. Prices aren't even discounted. While waiting in the long line just to try on clothes, the manager decided it was best to bark orders at the customers, like we worked for them, and told everyone to move the line outside and away from the entrance to the fitting room. Then had the audacity to "Thank you" with a condescending attitude. Only saving grace was the young lady working the fitting room that stood up for the customers and engage customers in a friendly manner. When trying to check out, we were the only customers standing in line waiting for one of the three employees standing there socializing amongst themself, to step up and check us out. Only until we walked up to one of empty registers did one of them (cashier 966988) let us know which register is open and checked us out. Disrespectful during the entire transaction and had treated us like we were bothering her by being there. Tanger should take note of this b/c this interaction ruined the experience at you Outlet. Based on the reactions of other customers there at the same time as us, they walked away with the same feeling. read more

After my visit yesterday evening, I'm now concerned about safety there. There were two shoplifters (male and female) that ran out of Nike with a lot of clothes in hand. The female was captured but the two police officers had a very hard time trying to subdue her. I believe the male escaped with the stolen merchandise in hand. With that said, Tanger looks nice but ALWAYS pay attention to your surroundings. Criminals/thieves are out there ready to make their next move and you don't want to be their next target/victim. I love Tanger Outlets! Most shops here are priced at 60-70% off!!! If your one who doesn't care for last seasons styles and are in desperate need of clothes come here! I have bought GREAT items here. A cheap MK bag, work clothes, and new sneakers all for less than $200! I bought a beautiful dress from express for only $10! It looks like it costs $50! I love shopping here. I stopped shopping at the mall because the outlet is far more affordable. The food selection isn't huge but I typically eat lunch or dinner off the outlet as nearby there is the national harbor and other great food options. Consider having a snack here but eat your meal elsewhere. For those who have a sweet tooth there is a nice fudge shop and Lindt shop that is worth checking out! The entire outlet is very clean. The staff here really do a great job making this place look great! The bathrooms are clean and throughout the outlet. Also! If your a college student MOST stores offer student discounts! Express and Steve Madden by far has a great student discount I noticed. Certain stores don't such as MK and I believe Coach. People leave bad reviews because the items are out of season. This isn't a problem for me! If you can take something from the past season and revamp it will still look awesome! I get my best compliments when I wear outfits I bought from this outlet! The Tanger outlets National Harbor has a great mix of stores, and is more centrally located to the population centers of Washington DC than other outlets. They have great deals, and the customer service is Excellent, I was very surprised. I guess they learned from the service debacle when the National Harbor opened. I got great deals with my elite club card, and the coupons provided. I hope they keep up the efforts to keep this place classy. One of the only negatives thus far was the traffic situation is tough. This should improve as we get away from the holidays, and the novelty wears off. Don't pay attention to comments on the traffic, of course it's going to take a while if 20,000 people are trying to park in such a small development. It's a short term problem. You know when you go to an Outlet, you expect a deal. For whatever reason across the board I didn't feel like this outlet offered a lot of actual deals...if that makes sense. For example at some stores, Items that I knew the full price of, were still full price. Call me crazy but why go to an out door outlet mall in the cold, if you could go to pentagon city mall and pay the same prices, take the metro, and be warm. Oh! The mall that could have :( This mall will take a long time getting used to. The stores here are awesome - most of the stores that I generally shop at. But that's about it. There are soooo many things going against this outlet mall though - - Parking - Parking size is more like for a Whole Foods than for an outlet mall where you want the shoppers to spend the entire day (along with their $$ too)! - Food options - or the lack of it - does the mall management seriously want shoppers to survive only on Johnny Rockets and pretzels?!? Unless they start pumping pure oxygen in the stores, the shoppers will start dropping like flies here. The obvious side effect is folks bringing in food with them and discarding their trash everywhere. The wait to get a table @ Johnny Rockets has been a minimum of 30 minutes for us and on an average about 45 minutes! The architects of this mall need to surrender their license pronto - whoever thoughts Americans dont like food as much as they like to shop must not be from this Earth. Overall the mall has good stores with poor planning when it comes to parking and food options. This would have been acceptable if the mall was in downtown DC or Arlington, but this far out, it is a recipe for disaster. read more

4.5 stars "...and then Prince George's County said 'checkmate'..." Fabulous! Kate Middleton did not name her son Prince George for nothing. So great to see these stores come to this area, so great to see folks from all cultural backgrounds shopping here and pouring money into Oxon Hill (!), so great to have such a beautiful outdoors mall that overlooks the Wilson Bridge. Fantastic! As one said, there are the "usual suspects" but that's not a bad thing - good pseudo-anchors that will always do well. Additionally, do not be fooled, most of these are not true outlets like back in the day, but brands that have made less expensive versions of their popular items and thus more affordable. It would be nice to have an Off 5th or Nordstrom Rack or Last Call (true outlets i my opinion), but time will tell. One thing we've learned with this mall is never say never! I also really like the areas for sitting (great patio furniture that I would love to have in my own backyard), and you have to admit that the interactive mall directory/map is just wonderful. *click and *cllick* and you don't have to process north/south/west/east anymore - and just follow the direct route the map delineates for you! So simple [and unnecessary], but it show how they did not cut corners at this mall. Overall I give this shopping haven 4.5 stars instead of 5 however because it definitely needs more food options. Thank goodness I arrived on a full stomach: (1) there are very few places to eat or even snack (2) because of this the lines are very *very* long. I feel some people with impatient and bored spouses and children will cut their shopping trip early if those grumbling tummies become too loud! If you plan ahead, you can definitely stop by 'the original' part of the Harbor for a sit down meal, but if your primary goal is shopping at the outlets, this would not work Oh! How can I forget: thank you, Prince George's County Police and Crossing Guards for keeping things smooth these past couple weeks - very impressive. Parking was good too. Not impressed...prices are not as good as at Potomac Mills and other venues. The smell from the water treatment plant might make you lose your lunch...guess it's a good thing they have basically only one Auntie Anne's, a Johnny Rockets and a Starbucks for food. Cops are everywhere, which might be a good thing, but I'm not sure why they only left one entrance open. Takes forever to get in and out. Don't see any reason to come back when other malls have better prices in the same chain stores...plus, they don't smell and have places to eat. read more

I consider this outlet mall a small one compared to Virginia's Potomac Mills and the ones in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (tax free!). It may be about the same, size-wise, as the one in Queenstown. Nonetheless, it's nice to have one close to home than to drive miles and miles. However, my biggest gripe for all outlet malls is that they seemed to have forgotten the original purpose of outlet stores. They're literally the same as those in regular malls. So, tell me again how these stores are any different? Other than that, it's new and clean. It can be quite confusing with the maze-like layout. However, I find it odd that there's only 1 sit-in restaurant, Johnny Rockets. There are lots of stores that you generally see at outlet malls such as Converse, Crocs, Nautica, Wilson Leather, Calvin Klein, Haggar, Jockey, and many more. What may set this place apart from others may be IT'SUGAR, Tommy Bahama and Diane von Furstenberg (coming soon). Parking may be a hassle but if you're patient you will find a spot. Otherwise, be sure you have a good pair of shoes on and have fun shopping! read more

Comparatively speaking this outlet is relatively new, it has been opened for around a year with less stores compared to other outlets around the area. Most outlets have department stores however this place doesn't have that. So if you are looking for Nordstrom rack, off 5th avenue etc this is not the place for you. However they do have some stores that other outlets don't have such as Penguin, Hugo Boss, Asics, those are the ones coming to my mind. They also don't have much food options. I visited on Black Friday and the Johnny rockets was crowded! There was a line out the door. This is an outdoor mall so on cooler days this place is a ghost town. Overall, this place is not bad for an outlet however for me Potomac Mills is a bit further away but still worth the drive due the amount of stores they have. P.S. My one and only complaint is where are the food options. I get it... the National Harbour is right around the way. But if I dont want to deal with moving my car and looking for parking there and waiting for a table somewhere. Overall I thought the outlets were well worth a trip. There were some great deals to be found, though keep in mind that these days, most (if not almost all) merchandise at outlet stores is made specifically for the outlets, so it's unlikely that you'll find anything that originally was sold at the pricier mall store. Quality can also vary dramatically - most of the men's slacks at the Banana Republic outlet were made from polyester rather than cotton or wool which you would expect in the mall. Parking was a real pain. The PG County cops are out in full force doing parking duty, but there's no rhyme or reason as to why they open (or close) certain lots. I was made to park far away, but the main lot was about 1/3rd empty. There's not nearly enough signage to indicate where to park or how to get on the highway. Also, what were they thinking with not installing enough food options? There's 80+ shops, but only a Starbucks, an Auntie Anne's pretzels, and one very small Johnny Rockett's (which had an hour long wait at 2pm). Make sure you eat beforehand because there's not much to chose from here. read more

Went on the second day it opened and although it was very crowded, I was really impressed with the quality of the stores. I actually think it has better stores than Arundel Mills. I was surprised to see a Theory outlet store (which is a high class store known in NYC), Original Penguin, Hugo Boss, and even an Express outlet store (really good deals here). Most of the stores are pretty large and the staff was very friendly. Hopefully they will open even more high end outlets like Louis Vuitton, Burberry, or Armani Exchange. Glad I no longer have to drive all the way out to Arundel or Potomac Mills. Please bring a DKNY store and an Armani Exchange outlet, I loved the one in Dolphin Mall in Miami! read more

I think that perhaps I had ridiculously high expectations of Tanger Outlets. I am a big fan of the Prime Outlets, but since those are pretty far (in Queenstowne, MD) I was excited about an outlet mall located so close to my home. I also figured the area was perfect because it was a stone's throw away from the National Harbor. However, I was disappointed by the predictable selection of stores/brands. Many of the stores at Tanger can be found within your local mall or Tyson's Corner - and the price points are not the markdowns I expect from an outlet. White House Black Market and Polo Ralph Lauren's Factory Store were the high light of my trip. My friend is a gym buff and was really impressed by the Nike Factory Outlet, but felt their offerings were still too overpriced. Even though the National Harbor is nearby, you'd think Tanger would have at least two full service restaurants to accommodate the ebb and flow of customers they see daily. Well...there is Johnny Rocket's, a fudge/ice cream shop and a smoothie place/Auntie Anne's Pretzel's. That's about it. My co-workers decided to take our lunch break there to look around and grab a bite, but the line for Johnny Rocket's was out of the door with a wait of 45 minutes+. We ended up drinking lemonade and eating pretzels because we didn't feel like going over to the National Harbor and paying for parking. Speaking of parking, Tanger is a parking nightmare. I've been twice and the lot was nearly to capacity both times. I think Tanger still might have some potential if they had better deals that beat the prices I pay at my local shopping mall. Also, I understand there is a shuttle but I also couldn't figure out where it picked up from or the hours of operation. They should probably put a few signs out in more prominent places... Despite my disappointment in their store & restaurant/concession offerings, it is very nice in terms of decor. The layout is a little hard to navigate, but the touch screen maps are a big help. I think I'd rather shop online than go to Tanger...I'm just not sold on the convenience factor. read more

Bringing me a Converse Outlet store closer than exurban Virginia is reason enough that this place will never be less than okay in my mind. But there are plenty of other reasons that it will never be more than average in my mind as well. First of all, however, I do have to say that I've never seen a friendlier staff at an outlet mall. My lady and I visited multiple stores looking for last minute holiday presents a couple of weeks ago and everyone greeted us with a smile even after a month of being open. Who knows if this friendly demeanor will continue but it was a welcome change from the grumpy people that usually staff outlet stores. The problem with this place isn't with them. Or even with the store selection. All the major clothing designers are here and the prices are good (although nothing was bargain bin). My main problem is with the layout. Maybe I've been spoiled by Arundel Mills, but now I kind of expect similar stores to be clumped together. The shoe stores here, for example, are far flung to the winds (and since it's outside, there will be winds and rains) so there's no choosing a parking area (of course the lots are pretty full since it's new so that might not be an option anyway) and shopping quickly. I guess if you're a shopaholic, this isn't a problem. But for me, someone who just wants to find bargain footwear and get the heck away from the mall, it's kind of a big deal. But not as big a deal as having a place to get new All Stars in Maryland! read more

It's kind of dangerous how there's an outlet so close to DC...I used to go to Leesburg Outlet for my outlet shopping excursions since it was the closest and I was actually grateful it was a bit out of the way because otherwise, my limited monies may be further depleted by outlets' good sales and prices. Now that Tanger has opened up at National Harbor, just a hop, skip, and jump away from DC, I fear for my wallet. I came here with the boyfriend a week before Christmas (why, I do not know...I forgot it was only a week before Christmas, as I had been diligent and purchased my Christmas gifts weeks in advance. However, my boyfriend had failed to do the same, so there we were just a week before Christmas...). Parking was a zoo; I lucked out and found parking only after 15 minutes of circling around one section of the parking lot a couple of times. However, parking woes could also be attributed to the timely arrival of the holidays no less than a week later, so hopefully during regular weeknights or weekends, it's not as crowded. I can't say the same about holiday weekends or weekdays though, especially for an outlet which has incredible deals on holidays! There are a number of shops here, less than Leesburg for sure, but there's only a limited space for all the shops here. However, there's Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Crocs, H&M, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Movado, Nike, Le Creuset, Swarovski, and much more. There's even going to be a Diane von Furstenberg coming soon too! Plus, I saw a Chick Fil A stand. I love me some outlets, so I'm very glad Tanger came to National Harbor and we get more outlet options in this area. I think it'll drive quite a bit of business towards National Harbor. read more

I've been to the National Harbor outlets twice in my travels. Once, was the day after Christmas. I don't recommend it. The other time was last week around 2:00PM on a Wednesday in the rain. I can't recommend it enough in that scenario. My mom and I were the only people there. The highlight of my trip specifically was my trip to Van Heusen. You see, I am an awkwardly shaped fellow, and the 2 young ladies in there helped me dress to the 10's! They allowed me to open up several pre-bagged shirts and try them on to see how well they fit my awkward frame. They set me up in a nice black & white checkered shirt I wore to a wedding the following Saturday. It was a success as I scored with one of the bridesmaids. Another high note, I slept in the shirt as the hotel room was cold and there wasn't a wrinkle on it the next day! read more

An excellent, clean, and vivacious location. Tanger Outlet malls provide a great atmosphere that will get you in and out with great deals and good stores. Con #1: Parking can be tricky and challenging, however there is plenty of parking. Just be ready to walk a little bit. Can't hurt to walk anway. Con #2: As some mentioned, there is no "sit down" restaurant around there. Lots of quick bites to go and that is really the extent of it. More so, I wouldn't even think of it. It is for quick bites to eat and to go. Pro #1: You can shop at major stores and get amazing crazy deals. Pro #2: You literally can do all your shopping in the same place Pro #3: its not packed or psycho like regular malls. I think overall the outlets are ok. Its good to have some closer to home. Anyone who has been to a Tanger outlet before, its prety much the same stores. I personally didn't notice major discounts but that's how most outlets are nowadays. Now about the grand opening, I think it was as organized as it could be, there were large volumes of people, police there to direct traffic and I think they did ok, it was just way more people there than they may have anticipated. I was however shocked to see that there weren't many (I only counted 2) places to eat. Mabye there's more coming. I gave three stars. I think its a solid outlet, I would go again. I stopped by the Van Heusen store inside Tanger looking for some dress shirts. Sam was happy to assist me in finding the right style and fit shirt. I was right in between the "classic fit" and the "slim fit" and with Sam's help, going just what I needed. They have shirts on sale for $17.99 and $19.99, so grab them while they're hot! See you in the summer to restock my closet. .... 3 months have passed and I've lost even more weight. Now I'm wearing Slim Fit Medium instead of Classic Fit Large. Tanger is To northern NoVa, DC and Md as the Leesberg Outlets are to the West-northwestestern Washington DC suburbs. Tanger is for all the budgeteers seeking designer brands and discounted prices. Notice I said "discounted" and not Target priced. If you've been to Leesberg, you've been to Tanger. It's possibly a smigen smaller, similar fatty food choices, similar name brand selections and an equally as frustrating parking situation. The parking situation is atrocious. Who designs these things? A congested area requires a parking lot with ample parking and attendants who know how to direct drivers While they attempt to navigate through a labyrinth. I find the parking attendants to be a little abrasive- who directs traffic with erratic arm movements and a mere facial expression during the holiday season? Fail. read more
