Nice outdoor mall. While I don't like to shop, this mall has a nice upscale feel to it. It's an outdoor mall with brand name chains at discounted prices. Pretty good for the shoppers, horrible for the non-shoppers who just sit and wait! j/k But at least it's outside, so you can get a tan while waiting for your friend to finish shopping. read more

Want a deal on anything? Come to the outlets. We spent several hours combing through our favorite stores and scoring deals. The place was under construction so there was a lot out of place but the favorites were still there. These outlets are very clean and with the renovations, they will be amazing. Decent place to shop, went there during after Christmas sales so everything was super cheap. Since it's an outlet, I don't expect most of the clothes to be that great and they weren't. Got a steal on some Coach clutches though. This Tanger pretty much has every popular store you usually see in the malls, except for department stores. My wife and teenage girls ages have been spending my money here for years and love to make a day out of going to Myrtle Beach, getting a hotel for the night and shopping all day long at the Tanger Outlets. Everything is discounted, there is plenty of parking space and loads of places for accompanying dad's to sit down and watch the money go away lol. Tanger Outlet has a Calvin Klein Outlet. Pretty hip casual clothes for men and women. Less expensive then Macy's. Good selection of tops, t-shirts, button up shirts, slacks, messenger bags, perfume, belts, leather suede jackets...... Carries club clothes that would look ok in Miami Beach, New York or DC. read more

I enjoyed coming here because I had a few hours to kill before my flight, so my future grandmother -in -law and I went. I liked being able to see all of my "work clothes" stores were in one solid area, generally walkable. The food court was rather slim, and while I know there was a starbucks, I did not get a chance to go in. I found some decent sales - not fabulous, but I know how to shop for good sales. I also microseethed at the sales tax. I live in MA, so we don't have this sales tax on clothing nonsense. For a yearly family trip, I would totally have the whole family come out to kill an afternoon. read more

Worst shopping experience ever. First of all, prices are overmarked-then they say 60% off. Then the stores were so busy you could hardly move-they actually had lines for some stores! Last and most importantly-we waited an hour in the parking lot to get out!!! They had two morons directing traffic at the entrance but did nothing for the cars trying to get out!! It was literally hell! Called the office and they did nothing! I actually called the police to come out and direct -they said they were coming but luckily that was at the end of the most hellish parking i have ever experienced-including disney, mba/nfl games, Los Angeles/Chicago traffic! Bigger than the other one in the area but not good for rainy days. The other one has a covered walkway ideal for shopping while it's raining. Has a nice food court with lots of choices. Seems like it has more shops than the other one also. The deals at this time of year are crazy. I mean like 75% off the outlet prices!!!! read more

North Face and Puma were a little disappointing compared to their VEGAS and Portland outlets sister stores. Loft and COACH were impressive. Liked seeing a Kate Spade and feel it had a great variety of sorts. The 501 outlet has NiKE yet their merchandiser could use some help in trend. Both clothing and shoes depts were weak and not worth the drive from the beach. Columbia was impressive; buy one get one half ! read more

We come here several times a year. Tonight alone we spent about 300.00 so seems the deals were pretty good in February for some reason . We tend to prefer this outlet to the one on 501 as we tend to find better/more deals here, but rest assured we will be heading to the other location tomorrow for a comparison . Under armour ( for me) Disney ( for the grands) , Anne Taylor ( for her) , and north face ( for us both) were amongst our favorites tonight. read more

I was very disappointed in the level of service I received at many of the stores I visited. The only place Tanger can really be held responsible for was their shopper services. All the others would be the responsibility of those companies. When visiting shopper services the CS agent was on her personal cell phone,she did ask her calling to hold ,while she rushed me through my transaction. Clearly that call was more important than her job. She was very direct and made me feel like I shouldn't have any additional questions. Also stores advertise they accept the Tanger coupons on their doors,but when you ask,the say "oh we don't take that one,or we can't use that one on sale merchandise." Then don't put on the door that you accept. read more

2/12/2018 6 pm. lots of construction, tripping on rocks on sidewalks near construction area (right in the middle of the walkway near the hanesbrand store and just outside of the foodcourt next to starbucks as well). really need staff to continually check for safety issues. Will say this at least they had an indoor food court with a little variety. read more

I absolutely love the stores and the coupon booklets that are offered to military but one thing that really turns me off about this place is the smoking locations. I am pregnant and have a 7 year old, it's especially the worst at the entrance/exit to the food court. You actually have to walk through a black cloud of smoke to get in and out. I don't think they were very strategic about picking smoking locations. Also, I sat outside of a store waiting for a husband and someone sits next to me and starts smoking. I am at a point of being obviously pregnant and my son was on the other side of me on the bench. Please make smoking areas centralized, but away from the entrance/exits of stores, as opposed to every bench being a smoking area!!!! read more

Love the outlets, but these are not all outlets. Do not be fooled. Not everything is a good deal. And the sales tax sometimes makes it more expensive then a normal store. The grounds are cleans, And most people are super nice. read more

Well. Now that we've got a Tanger just outside of the Triangle, my annual Myrtle Beach trips, and the call of outlet shopping, is a little less compelling. However, I still look forward to popping in here. With coupons in all the vacation guides redeemable for an outlet coupon book, the deals can be a little better than home -- and the inventory is definitely stocked deeper. This location has a Kate Spade, which is a highlight for me, as well as the usual faves: Banana Republic, J Crew. It is highly trafficked, which means that the stores can get crowded and a little chaotic. But they also cater to these crowds with an impressive-sized food court and even massage chairs... something that our location back home is completely lacking in. read more

There is lots of variety at this outlet center. It's conveniently located just off Hwy 17 in Myrtle Beach, a relatively short drive down the coast from NC or up from the strip/main Myrtle. AAA members, AARP members, and military can get a free coupon book by stopping by Shopper Services. I wish I would have allowed more time for shopping on Sunday afternoon; I didn't realize ahead of time that they close at 7pm and 4 hours wasn't nearly enough. :) read more

Very limited options for plus-sized clientele. Would love to see an Avenue, Torrid, Catherine's, etc. Really, just even one more plus-sized store would be welcomed. There were only 2 stores that I recall that I could even shop in for clothing--a Dress Barn and the Levi's Outlet Store. If any of the other stores had plus-sizes, they sure didn't advertise it in any way. So, if they do, they need to make it obvious, because I certainly wasn't going to go waltzing around stores that don't typically make customers-of-size feel welcomed. Shoe stores never seem to have anything over a size 10. Charlotte has a wide shoe store outlet, so why in the world can't an outlet mall like this have such a shoe store? So, yeah, if you're plus-sized with large feet, there's not a lot of shopping you can do here. read more

Out of the 2 Tanger Outlets in the Myrtle Beach area, this is the one we like. Great shopping selection (Gap Outlet, J. Crew, Hagger, Carters, etc) and a decent food court. Soda and water machines all around for that needed hydration in the summer months. Parking is good unless you pick a rainy day when EVERYONE is there. Great atmosphere. read more

A couple weekends ago I decided to go outlet shopping. The tanger outlets on 501 here in myrtle beach are technically closer to me than the tanger on 17, but I wanted a change of scenery, and stores to shop at. So I took the slightly longer drive up to this outlet mall. One thing I actually LOVED was how the outdoor walls of all the shops were color coded. They were color coded to match the directory maps all outside around the whole shopping area! So easy to find your way around!!! It was like we got into the map!!! ((Anyone get that joke? Friends the tv show. Joey had to " go into the map" when they went to London.)) When looking on the directory maps, trying to find where you are, and which store you are trying to go to next, theres usually color coded sections, right? I saw, for example, the Coach Outlet color coded in 'Blue', then I saw it was a good 10 stores away from me. well, off i went, on my way, in that direction to find the coach outlet.. As I was walking to find coach, I could see the outdoor walls of each shop beginning to change (I'm not a crazy person - I promise). As I was getting closer to where coach was, the walls then changed to that blue color, so i knew i was in the right section of the outlet mall. HOW AWESOME!!!! And oh look, there was coach! Tanger on 501 doesn't have that.. It would make large populated areas, similar to outlets, just THAT MUCH easier to navigate around. If only every place took a lesson or two from the Tanger Outlets on 17. I was able to get in and out of my stores as fast as I hoped, by looking on the map, and finding that bright blue area, and that orange-like colored area I needed. BOOM! DONE! Bye crazy busy tourist-y place. Got what I needed, and back home I went. read more
