Visited Tanger Outlets on Black Friday, which in hindsight was... ambitious. Traffic was backed up so badly that we spent about 30 minutes just trying to get off the offramp. By the time we finally reached the parking lot, it looked like the entire state of South Carolina had arrived ahead of us, but we somehow snagged a spot within 15 minutes, so small miracles do exist. Even though most of the outlet is outdoors, it was shoulder-to-shoulder crowds the entire time. Navigating between stores felt like participating in an unlicensed pedestrian Olympics. Definitely not the ideal day for strolling, browsing, or breathing. Once we actually got inside the shops, the selection was solid and there were plenty of good deals. Lots of variety, lots of brands, and most stores seemed well-stocked despite the chaos. Black Friday probably wasn't the brightest idea, but that's on us. I'd come back again, just on a normal day when the parking lot doesn't feel like Thunderdome and you can actually walk without being swept away by the crowd tide. read more

Great selection of stores at this local outlet mall. They have a large variety of shops so it really suits everyone's need. The walk path as many others have referenced are covered, which makes it nice when it's a very hot day. Also, the paths are so wide that you don't feel like you are crowded on top of one another. There are maps throughout so you can grab one easily versus trying to wing it. I also appreciate that they have a food court and various ice cream and coffee shops so if you need a quick bite it is easily accessible to you. Found parking to be easy to navigate and there are several different sections and lots. I didn't find a ton of discounts for reduced prices compared to what I would have expected for an outlet, but it's still fun to kill time when you are looking for something other than the beach to do. When I am visiting my family down South in Myrtle Beach, SC my father and I always find the need to visit the Tanger Outlets for one reason or another. It's usually for sneakers and while my Dad leans on New Balance of late, I've been hooked on Asics for the past few years and that leads me to one of the issues I encountered on this visit. Asics had closed their outlet store a few weeks prior to my paying the family a visit. Sure Pop found something he liked at NB but I was off my plan and needed to figure this out before we headed home. Now its important to know that there are so many shops of all different variety here at the Tanger outlet but I do not advise wandering around aimlessly to find them and instead grabbing one of the maps that are readily available and using it tactically. It's South Carolina after all and can be very very hot at times. I'd suggest that you arrive with a bottle of water to keep you hydrated and maybe a handerchief to dob the sweat off your brow. Oh yeah, also wear a hat, you can thank me later. Outside of the sneaker shops, my favorite stops are the entertainment shops, the places where one can find action figures, pops, and assorted t-shirts with pop culture characters or music icons. There are a number of snack stands and also little jewelry kiosks if you are looking for that kind of stuff. I recall a couple of refreshment stops like Ben and Jerry's but the others elude me as I cobble all of this together. You can hit their website and peruse and like I suggested, go in with a plan first and then noodle about. An important change I noticed this time around was a business office which offered some benches in air-conditioning and bathrooms for visitors to use. There are also a few vending machines with soft drinks, snacks and water, the latter being a very important need while shopping. There was a complimentary WiFi detected which I never mind having since it made check ins easier. That's all I've got on this one and can say that you will likely find yourself in the place for a couple of hours so do mark down where you parked since their lot is massive. Oh yeah and for those curious about the kicks. I decided on a couple of pair of Skechers, a brand I have not really owned many of but these were comfortable and was happy to give them a try. One of two Tanger outlets in Myrtle Beach, Hwy 17 offers the typical name brand stores with Polo, H&M, Coach, and Vineyard Vines listed on the marquee on one of the entrances. My wife and I try to stop in at an outlet during our trips if we have time, and this one was our first choice to see if the Lululemon store had what we were looking for. It did not, but still admired this walkable outdoor mall. We also stopped in at the large Sketchers outlet as well. Even for a weekday, it had a decent amount of people walking around (could tell immediately since the large parking lots were pretty full) and I didn't see many empty storefronts. It reminded me back 30 years plus when this sort of mall was very popular in the Midwest, not so much anymore. Was happy that this still exists. read more

A wonderful convenient outlet built for visitors comfort and exhilarating shopping experience. Lots of free parking all around the outlet to start with. The walkways are very clean and covered with roof. Saved is from multiple random passing showers. There are lots of sitting areas for shoppers to rest. Multiple small stalls selling drinks and ice creams. Vending machines are available as well for drinks and snacks. There are water spray play area for kids. They have excellent collection of stores, some that are not in the Highways 501 outlet like Oakley, Disney, Kate Spade, Tory Burch and North Face, few that I noticed. The shops have excellent inventory with discount on most of them. The prices were great for the products. We shopped so much stuff from Adidas, Disney, Oakley, Old Navy and bunch of others. Very different experience from NJ/NY area outlets. read more

I spent about two hours shopping and enjoying this particular Tanger Outlets but I didn't end up buying anything today. It is an open style mall laid out as a chevron so that you can walk up one aisle and then walk back down the other. An easy loop to get back to where you parked! Tommy Bahama, Crocs, Sperry, Old Navy, Wrangler, Ralph Lauren and more. I am just not spotting any great bargains or deals like there used to be at outlet malls. Still, it was a pleasant time. It was a rainy day when we decided to go shopping, and there's no better place than an outlet mall. I knew that a Greg Norman store was located at this outlet mall and it's a favorite of my husband's for his golfing clothes. Also, the best time to buy is January right before the new season starts and the older styles are on clearance. This store had a sale going on, but their clearance rack was 50% off the clearance price which was extraordinarily inexpensive. A Disney Outlet store is also offering many items at a great discount. We walked past many other stores that also had 50 % off signs - or a buy one get a second at half off. This mall layout has sections that are semi-covered so that if it is raining you are in a covered space. Lots of parking is available in the lots surrounding the mall. read more

Wow!! Our son is a HUGE Hurley fan and we were on a trip to MB for his 14tb bday. It was raining so we decided to go shopping. This store was a present surprise. A TON of deals. Shirts for $8? Can't beat that!! We spent close to $300 but we got a ton of items. Shirts, hats, flip flops and shorts. They had a deal that is called head to toe. Hat, shirt, shorts and flip flops for $50 We will DEFINITELY stop back when we are in MB again. read more

I always hit the outlets when I'm in Myrtle Beach. Lots of parking around the mall. It's clean and well maintained. Partially shaded by a roof in most of the mall which helps when it's raining or the sun is strong. Great factory outlet stores like Under Armour, Disney, American Eagle, Simply Southern, etc. are all in one place. Vending machines and a food court are also here. Seating in areas around the mall and kids play areas are also available. There are a few ways to enter or exit from the highway. read more

Looking for Sketchers and Clark sandals I decided to check out this outlet location. The stores were easy to find and they had some good sales going on. They had buy one and get a second pair half off on sandals which worked out great and same for sneakers at Sketchers. The staff was helpful and both stores. Love tons of stores all bundled up together in one place? That's effectively Tanger Outlets in a nutshell. This location is primarily outside with tons of airflow. Expect your usual staples, but with stores coming and going, definitely check their website if you have a specific destination in mind. (Tanger Outlets' website is really useful.) PROS: -Located right off the highway. Literally. On-ramps take up some of the space that would have been parking lots. So, if you're traveling to here, it's super easy to get to. -Not located in the middle of nowhere either. There's a Walmart across the way, and you have the entirety of Myrtle Beach down the street. So if you need to get other shopping done at the same time, it's very doable. -Parking lot surrounds a good 60% of the mall. Depending on what store you want to go to, you might have a very short walk for an in-and-out visit to the store of your choice. Starbucks happens to be one that's situated near an edge. -The mall is outdoors but the majority of the mall is under giant awnings. All of the main, straight walkways are covered, so as long as you can tolerate the sun/rain while walking around the corners, you can still enjoy the mall during sketchier weather. -The food court is entirely inside - including the bathrooms. This is fantastic for enjoying your food without worrying about wind or rain or heat. All of the seating is indoors too - but there are lots of tables around outside if you happen to want to eat your meal outside. -Lots and lots of outdoor seating in-between the stores. Not only are these great for waiting while people shop, but they're great for taking breaks. As there are tons of little booth/pop-up shops around these seats, though, you might consider finding one away from the shop if you don't want products pitched at you. (I saw an italian ice vendor asking nearby seated patrons if they wanted to try samples) -The whole place is really nice and clean. I know this Tanger has been around forever, but the look definitely still has a "new" feel to it. Trash cans were empty, bathrooms were clean, brochures were well-stocked. CONS: -Navigating this outlet is weirdly difficult. I think it's because it's just four giant, long "aisles" at parellel angles. It can be difficult to tell where you are in relation to the store of where you want to go. I highly recommend remembering which corner store you were near when you parked - and if you get lost, there are lots of Tanger Outlet Maps brochures located all around. No real, big giant map displays though; you have to waste the paper to get the map listing. read more

My children and I were going to visit with friends and stopped to kill some time before it was time to meet up. We had fun walking around the shops and seeing all of the different shops available. I liked that the outlets were clean and easy to navigate; we were there for 30 minutes and hit three stores that we needed. I definitely recommend avoiding the weekends if you can; it can become a bit crowded. Each time I have been to the outlets we have had good success with finding what we need and enjoying the atmosphere. read more

This is a really nice outlet mall with lots of great shopping options. I'm a big fan of Eddie Bauer so I prefer the outlets on 501, but the facility is much older and crowds are lower. At this mall, I found lots of great bargains, including the Disney outlet. We go to Disney pretty often and the souvenirs are stupidly expensive. For what I'd spend for a t-shirt at the park, I can buy 2 or three here. Spent $120 at the Disney store and left with a huge bag of loot. This is a great way to spend a cold or rainy day when visiting the beach. You can find just about anything and not spend a fortune. read more

Today I got two t-shirts from the Gap and a brown handbag from Coach. They have a few sitting areas around the outlet and a Market Hall (Auntie Anne's, Charley's Grilled Sub, Famous Wok). I've always experienced great customer service every year that we come here. The only thing that could make it better is if it was all indoors to shield patrons from inclement weather. There was a downpour today while we were there. Stop by Tanger Shoppers Services and purchase the Little Red Book of Savings for $5. read more

I enjoyed strolling the outlet! I visited Clark's shoes and got the wallabies I had been looking for. They had a crazy sale, buy one get the second for $10! My next stop was at New Balance. They also had a sale of buy one get the second half off or 30%, depending on the shoe. Those guys made my buying experience lovely. There was one guy ( I'm bad with names) who greeted me, asked what I was looking for, showed me the different selections, and then show me recommendations he suggested. His personality made it for me. He kept checking on me through his jokes with other customers and the staff. Got 2 fresh pair of New Balances! I next visited Old Navy. Sheesh, this place was JUMPING! Other stores I visited had a max number of people to enter at a time. This place didn't and was littered with folks. I kept my mask on, shopped quickly, stood in the long check out line 6 ft apart from the person in front of me and checking the person behind me with the side eye when they got too close. The line moved fast despite at least 40 people in front of me to checkout. I tried holding my breath but that got old fast! Last but not least, I'm now hungry. I head to the Food Court area and decide on Charley's Philly Steaks. They had the longest line, so I chose them (food must be good). The food was delicious and hot when I received it, but I was rushed to place my order. That's a pet peeve for me. I ordered the 6in teriyaki chicken philly. Y'all know me. I'm watching what is being cooked on the flat top. I see a slab of something slapped on the flat top. It's my chicken. It is ONE slab of that "steak'um" thing you get in the frozen section, but it's chicken. As it cooked thru and the grill guy is chopping it up, it was nothing. I asked if there would be more "meat" and some chic interrupted in me speaking with the grill guy, and said I ordered a small and the small gets one slab. There was teriyaki bread and swiss cheese that I ate. I had one good bit of the meat. The sandwich was more a grilled teriyaki swiss. read more

This outlet is a little over an hour from where I live. Many of the stores are high-end and I didn't see a lot of good deals. I was hoping there were other stores, such as kitchen gadget shops. It's a nice looking outlet with bathrooms and a food court. This is the closest outlet to where I live. The one in Raleigh is over 2 hours. The only store that I prefer is the Merrell shoe store. read more

There's something for everyone here and I feel you can score some awesome deals here that you can't find elsewhere. For example. My husband bought swim trunks at Vans that were marked down to 4.99 and they were BOGO. WHAT? He stocked up. I also purchased North face jackets for my kids for under $30 a piece. Unheard of. They have Simply Southern stores and stores with items exclusive to the area so that's always fun. And you can get Tshirts and other things like that super cheap. Sometimes I also check out Kate Spade and Banana. If you're a Tanger "member" they offer many additional coupons to the already great deals. A must do every time we're here. read more

I only give 5 Stars because my Bride loves this place. Me you ask? NOT SO MUCH. I looked around for something that interested me and I could find nothing. I did see the Fudge Shop and it all looked great but I'm trying to do the Low Carb thing and Fudge is not on the menu. Normally we visit the outlets on Hwy 501, but I had a B&BW reward I needed to redeem before it expired that day. This is your typical outlet but the stores may vary. This location does not have Nike or Victoria's Secret so that was one of the downfalls to my shopping. A few of the stores did offer some great discounts, so that kind of made up for it. I am kind of upset though, because we purchased a pair of Vans for my middle son on a Saturday and he wore them to school on Wednesday and texted me his shoes had already ripped. So, I will not be traveling back to MB for that and the only outlet that is closer that has a Vans store is in Mebane. SMH Other than that it was a nice shopping trip. read more

We came here to kill some time before on a dreary day in Myrtle Beach. We have an outlet mall by us in the Poconos but we never go there because it's too crowded and quite frankly you can usually get better deals at department stores or online. It's pretty much the same here. High prices and packed with people. However, we did enjoy looking around the various stores and especially liked the Brooks Brothers store which did have some decent pricing on certain items. Needless to say, I'm not a big fan of outlet malls. read more

Tanger Mall has been my go to in this area. I love this particular location. You can always find what you're looking for.. not so very crowded as the other Tanger on 501. To maximize your shopping experience, just go to google and pull up what ever store you like to see if they have any coupons they have out there. To get more bang for your bucks!!! The sales associates are always very helpful when asking a question about the merchandise they sell. I enjoyed myself, will be coming back! read more

Nothing special about this outlet. Hubby took me to buy a gift for our 7 year anniversary. The stores were nice but it was basic looking on the outside. I'd definitely go back because who doesn't like shopping and at the outlets while on vacation. We visited famous footwear, Adidas, and children's place. Kids were tired and the air was brisk so didn't enjoy it as I'd like. I will return however the next time I visit Myrtle Beach. read more

Pulled on with a perfectly fine functioning automobile, pulled out and heard "Click click click" stopped and found this giant screw stuck in my tire. Coincidence? I don't think so. The place is under construction and there we noticed rivets and screws all over the place inside near rhe shops. We stopped 300 feet from the place when we heard the noise. I called the Tanger office and spoke to the RUDEST woman god saw fit to put on the planet, basically got nowwhere with her so I'm down the road at Blacks tire shop getting my tire fixed. On a brighter note, I can highly recommend Blacks tire shop, freindly people who will take care of you. Tanger, get act together and make your contractors work clean. read more

I have never been to this Tanger Outlet but it is nicely laid out and the water spray area is really cool, and it's right by a fudge/ice cream shop so it makes for a cool sitting area to eat ice and people watch with the mist of water hitting you. We did most of my shopping at the H&M, Addis's, Disney store, and Ralph Lauren Polo. Out of all those store H&M had the best sales. I took my sons to the bathroom and I was happy to see a family restroom as we can all go into one big bathroom with the sink and toilet all in one area. We enjoyed this outlet and will defiantly be back if we visit the beach again. read more
