The Tanger Outlet mall in Mebane is awesome. I consider this mall new still and is more convenient than the alternative (Smithfield Mall), since I live in Raleigh. This mall is clean and offers coupon books that are super useful. I love the stores the Tanger Outlet Mall offers; stores like Nike, Vineyard Vines, and even Polo Ralph Lauren are located there and make returning online purchases convenient, since my local malls in Raleigh do not even offer those stores. The only negative I have about the Tanger Outlet mall is the food selection. There are only 4 different food options and are not options I prefer. Wish there was more of a selection. Also, I there is not much parking. This mall receives a lot of business and parking is always limited. read more

Had a very pleasant trip to Mebane Outlet recently. Clean and the staff at every store we visited were super helpful. My only complaint would be that the coupon books are pretty worthless, not worth the waste of paper. Unless you go crazy in one store, since you have to spend so much to use them. A very good exception was Under Armor. They have a flat percentage, which is very helpful. The young man who helped me was very nice. read more

I wish i could give lesser stars than this, their customer service is pathetic. You will find three representatives sitting at desk but only one representative will be working irrespective of the customers waiting in queue. I went to this mall last saturday and my first trip is very upset. I took a double stroller paying $8, the stroller is very long and cannot fit in to any store. So for shopping at GAP we left stroller in front of stores and went to shop inside. In 10 mins when we are back the we could not find the stroller. I went and complained at service section, they said that they are helpless. If this would have happened in any other stores they will immediately offered a replacement. Instead the representative reacted like its our mistake to leave . Also the prices at stores are too high compared to others. I will not suggest this if you need to shop with young kids. read more

This was my first time out to Tanger Outlets and I was surprised that everything was so opened as an outside kind of layout. Very much different from an indoor mall that I may shop at. My mom and I scoped out the clothes at a few stores and some were reasonable priced, but I think Tanger is a great place to shop if you are looking for designer type clothing such as at Saks. I think I would shop at Tanger if I lived closer, but it would be a once in the while thing at the outlets. A few of the stores did offer some coupons for purchases made which was nice. We also caught a live cooking demonstration featuring Chef Curtis Stone which was very entertaining and listened in on a singer by the name of Taylor Leopold at an event the outlets were having called the Taste & Style Experience. It would have been nice to have a little bit of shaded area while the event was taken place, but other than that it was a good event. Overall, if you are not on a tight budget, Tanger Outlet is a nice place to go to spend some time to do a little shopping. read more

I always enjoy a visit to the Tanger Outlets in Mebane. It's so easy to get in and out. Unlike larger outlet centers you can park once and walk easily around the entire center. The stores are located in one rectangle. There are several food options in the center, although there isn't a food court like you might expect. Off 5th, Banana Republic, The Gap and the QVC outlet are some of the standouts. The outlet is open and outside facing, although many parts of the walkways are covered so it's easy to shop in all kinds of weather. I know some might visit expecting a larger center, but I actually really enjoy the size of the outlet in Mebane. read more

I enjoy shopping at the Mebane Tanger Outlets. It has a good variety of stores and can save you a great deal of money. There is a good range of clothing from athletics to dress, upscale handbags along with different types of shoes. The only negative is that there are not any sit down restaurants. I don't want to have to leave to get a good lunch or dinner. If I leave to eat, I don't tend to return on that day. read more

This was my first time visiting the Cole Haan outlet in Mebane and it will be the last time. The manager in this store was extremely rude.When I asked him about the boot and the sale that they were having, he was very short and condescending. Then, I bought a boot that was larger than the bag that he was trying to shove it in. I asked him if he could just put it in a larger bag, he stated that he had to try this bag first because the cloth bags were expensive. He continue to tell me and the employee how expensive the bags were, as I was standing there. I found this to be very unprofessional. When you spend money on a boot, who cares about the bag. I know Cole Haan is all about their customers, so I was very surprised that they had a manager with this type of attitude and bad customer service. read more

Look folks ... if you're into one of the most nightmarish parking lots within 250 miles, stores that are incredibly crowded (I stood in a line of over 40 people trying to check out at the Nike store, salespersons who are obviously under trained, and a paltry selection of eating places, then Tanger Outlets in Mebane is your kind of place. Personally, for what little you may save ("outlet" is an overused term), you'll find the experience of going there to be worth the price of paying a little more elsewhere. Now, maybe during weekdays, it isn't so bad. But on weekends it's chaos. And Christmas time ... forget it! read more

Went to the mall last week. Loved the layout and stores available. Purchased a set of dishes from Correlle. The agent was wonderful to work with. She helped calculate the most economical way to purchase the setting for 10. I do agree with others that having to walk outside to get from store to store, will not be fun during the colder months. OK, so this place wins points just for being an outlet mall within 30 minutes of my house. I'm not a fan of Smithfield, and it's really too far from me to be very practical anyway. I think the layout of the place is nice and it has some stores that I'm a big fan of (Banana Republic, Coach, BCBG, Le Gourmet Chef to name a few). We went there the weekend after Thanksgiving so we made sure to get there early to try to beat the crowds...though this probably would have been a better move if the stores actually opened at the time they had posted online (9:00am). We arrived there early and since it's an outdoor mall and kind of chilly, the only options were to wait in the car or in the bathroom...no food court or anywhere inside to wait. We did find one store open a little early, so we took a little browse there, and then tried to go into one store a few moments after 9:00. We got yelled at by the staff, and even though they finally decided it was alright if we stayed since they figured out they were open at 9:00, we felt so unwelcome that we left. As we walked around, only a handful of the stores were open (and this is getting later and later). Though in general, the staff were very nice (even after working what I'm guessing what must have been a few grueling days). The stores had decent deals, though and we ended up getting probably a bit more than we thought. When we left, I think the parking situation had gotten a bit out of control, I'm not sure if it's still the novelty of it and the holiday season or just terrible planning for parking, but it seems they have a bit of a situation there. read more

Enjoyed my day at the Tanger Outlet. Went into the Corningware Kitchen store and the assistant manager is rude as hell. Asked for clarification on a coupon. Her response to me "well I'm sorry you don't understand!" Your job depends on customers coming in the store buying products. I was at tanger and there was a bird stuck in a tree...we asked for help and nobody came, we waited for like 45 min. They are gonna let that little bird die!!!!! Its wing was stuck in a branch and it was to high for us to reach. A man was supposed to come with a ladder, but he didn't. A security worker walked over there, we thought he would help but he just through his trash away!!!!Now whenever I go there I will think of them letting a bird die. read more

Quite small in square footage. I didn't realize I had walked the entire mall in a short time. Good selection of stores, better than Smithfield, at least for women bcos of BCBG & Michel Kors. J Crew, Children's place also give it a plus over Smithfield. Went there on Black friday. Parking was tough but it's a large lot so I think it'll be ok on a normal day. I would have given it a 4 but i took 1 pt off cos there's no food court, only a Subway and outdoor mobile snack units. I hope they create one soon. read more

The selection of stores is decent and I'm always able to find a great deal on something. I wish they had a better selection of restaurants. Someplace where you can sit and have a nice meal. If i have to get in my car to go eat somewhere, I'm not coming back to shop after lunch. read more

The coupon book is a joke. The fine print for every store I have tried to use says "not valid on sale or specials". Good luck finding anything in a store not on sale or special! The overall experience was okay, but the customer service I experienced in the store Allen-Edmonds was horrible. A friend of mine and I walked in and two totally rude reps stood behind the registers and never acknowledged us. Both of them looked directly at us and said nothing at all. To give you a total picuture, I am black and my friend is white and it should have nothing to do with our shopping experience. Funny though, a white gentleman walked in a minute later and they almost rolled out the red carpet for him. I immediately left the store and WILL NEVER RETURN! What a shame because money is green and credit cards are plastic and I assure you my money spends just as well as the next. read more

As a whole Tanger isn't bad, but I rarely have a good experience in particular stores. Michael Kors and Coach associates always seem to overlook me when I come in looking for something. I don't necessarily feel the need to wear my most expensive clothing to be taken seriously in any store. Other than that, I love all the other stores I frequent. The Nike store is usually a little too crowded and customers leave boxes all over the place. However, that is not the fault of associates. It's a good place to visit to hang out with friends or do some shopping, but sometimes the way you're treated can be a turn off. read more

Lots of shopping choices! My only complaint is how cold it gets when the wind whips through the breezeways on a cold day (but I can't blame anyone for that, haha)....in fact, it's probably very nice on a hot summer day. Overall a decent shopping experience. However, I went to Children's Place in hopes of getting a discount on the regularly priced items at the mall store and instead ended up paying the same amount. Went out of my way for nothing. Also, not very impressed with the customer service experience at Ann Taylor Loft. The girls working at the register could have been a little friendlier. read more

We come to the tanger outlets a couple times a year from Raleigh and every time we're disappointed. The selection is decent but prices aren't any better than the local malls. If my wife wasn't addicted to coach and if they didn't run 70% off sales (yes ladies you can score a very nice purse for less than a $100) we'd never come back. As I said we've got the Smithfield outlets but last we were there they sucked even more. I really wish they'd add a Disney outlet and offer outlet prices because it seems like a scam. The only positive is the kids playground is great! Lots to do and very secure. read more

We really like shopping here. But so do a lot of others. Parking lots are often full. The biggest dissapointment is the lack of eating and restaurants. The few small places that are here have very limited seating and choices. We would spend more time shopping here if there were a place to eat lunch or dinner. read more

Absolutely love shopping here at a variety of the stores. Unfortunately their food options aren't that great but I suspect that will change over time as more businesses move in. I've found the best deals to be from early November until about mid-December. Especially at the Nike Outlet store! read more

I have been to many outlet malls. This one is ok. There are some stores that you don't find in other outlet malls such as Levi, Le Creuset, and Vineyard Vines. Maybe because I went the day after the Black Friday, there weren't that many good deals. Parking lot was still full. I was just lucky that someone was leaving when I pulled up. There was plenty of restrooms throughout, but not much eateries. read more

I do like going to this Tanger Outlet, because its fairly close. However, I do prefer the one on Hwy 17 in Myrtle Beach better. There are so many more stores to choose from down in MB. The one in Mebane doesn't have the main places I shop (Nautica or Calvin Klein). Also, when I visited the Mrs. Fields Cookie place it was a mess, to say the least. Tanger outlet in Mebane NC is one of the best strip malls. Definitely saving a whole lot when it comes to money, the store selections are awesome!! Lots of stores that can cater for everybody's age and style! Clean bathrooms are a plus and a few food selections are great too. read more

I am a huge fan of the outlet . I think its great for the area. I would drive to Smithfield so the hour commute did not deter me visiting. I like the Coach store wish they would add more items there like shoes and business accessories. It would really be great to see more stores like Burberry; True Religion; Juicy Couture, Ecko and Kate Spade. Really, I hate to see everyone with the same handbag that I have. Just because I live in the south please do not think there is not an interest in fashion. Parking isnt the best at the moment, but I am sure more spaces are being added. read more

I flew down from Michigan to visit my family. I visited the Saks Fifth Avenue 0ff 5th outlet around a month ago with my grand-daughter. She had plans to move to New York and start a job in marketing. As I entered the store, a young lady greeted me with a friendly 'Hello' and signed me up for a free discount card and then gave me a coupon flyer. Since it was my first time in the store, I asked her where the formal dresses and casual wear would be located. She then proceeded to lead my grand-daughter and I over to the Womens side of the store. She showed us all the different sections of clothing. She was explaining all of the different items I could use my new coupons on, and stayed with me and my grand-daughter the whole time and helped us pick out the right clothes. She was honest about her opinions on the pieces we selected and explained how they wouldn't/or would tie in to Kim (my grand-daughter)'s job. As you may know, most sales people will only agree with you because they want to make a sale. However, the young woman (her name was Kenna), was very honest and sincere about how the clothes. She then led us to a fitting room, where Kim began modeling all of her selections. Kim is not much of a fashion forward girl, so she asked us about our thoughts. Kenna was very knowledgeable about the quality, functionality, and fit of the clothes. She ran back and forth to the sales floor getting different sizes and recommending simple, non-expensive accesories to compliment the clothes. She did not try to force any additional items on us, and joked 'With gas being an arm, leg, and soul, I don't know how people buy ten tons of jewelry and belts anyways'. Her country accent was absolutely darling, and she joked and laughed with us the whole time, her happiness was infectious. I can tell that she truly loves and enjoys her job. Shopping with Miss Kenna was very pleasurable. She helped us find everything we needed and we did not have to visit another store after that. She gets a ten in my book for a comfortable shopping experience, her helpfulness, and her honesty. I will definitely be back to shop at Saks and ask for her. For anyone who goes there, ask for Kenna! I did not get to shop much at Tanger Outlets as we have an extremely tight budget with a toddler, a husband in the military and a baby on the way, but we enjoyed the "A Taste & Style Experience" where we saw a live cooking demonstration by Master Chef Curtis Stone. We had VIP access after the show and were able to meet and greet Curtis Stone as well as buy his new book, get his autograph and had our photo taken with him. Afterwards we stopped at one of the restaurants on the strip and at Children's Place where we picked up some shorts for my son since it was hotter outside than we had planned for. Overall, I enjoyed the Tanger Outlet events but shopping there is not for this freebie blogger on our current budget. If I could afford to get designer name brands, I would save a lot shopping at Tanger Outlets and I love that they have that option, however on our current budget we were unable to which made the shopping part not so fun. Children's Place prices were the same or a little more than the non-outlet location right off our base so unless we lived a lot closer than 2 hours away I wouldn't make the trip. We did have a great time walking around though and the atmosphere was great. My only complaint overall would be that there was no shade provided (a tent, etc) for the event so my toddler became very fussy because it was SO hot, I was sweating profusely as I am pregnant and not supposed to be in the sun long and even having sunscreen on we got burnt. Also, I wish they had a frozen yogurt place as this pregnant girl was craving it. They had Italian Ice but it was cash only :/ Besides that, we had a great time with the events and window shopping and that is really what it was about for us! read more
