This Target is in downtown Chapel Hill, and if you are a college student then it's perfect. Which, considering its location kind of makes sense. All it really has an essentials that college kids would need, or stuff they would impulse buy. The service was none existent because I didn't really see any workers, except at the Starbucks counter and one girl at the customer service desk. As for the prices for products, they are about what you'd expect for Target. As for the bathrooms, they were quite dirty and had no toilet paper, so safe to say we went elsewhere. read more

While in town for a wedding, hubby realizes he forgot his belt. We decide to come here to purchase one. It's a smaller version of a usual Target. It's also in downtown Chapel Hill so you must park in the garage since street parking is limited. If you're out in less than an hour parking is free which is good. It's to my observation that prices seem very inflated, maybe because they cater to college students? Not sure. They seemed to have a good amount of what stock they had even with their much smaller store. I can't really speak on service. While walking around we passed several employees and none of them said hello or asked for help. We used self checkout so we didn't have a check out person. Target has always been and always will be a favorite shopping experience for me. I visited the Target on Franklin Street today near the UNC campus. It's located on the main drag of campus and convenient to walk or park. I think there is parking for Target customers but I just paid street parking. This is a smaller Target but I was able to make a return and browse for a few things. I applaud Target for placing this boutique store near a college campus as a lot of times we all need to enjoy Target and there isn't another store close by. I was able to obtain a few other items I needed and the store is layed out well for such a small space. read more

It's terrific that they have a smaller version of target for the college kids along the street of bars and restaurants. We found it super helpful as we were able to drop in here to get a cooler shirt to wear as you can really work up a sweat on a nice day strolling along these sidewalks. They have of course have TARHEELS merch. It did appear to be the only baby clothing inside the store and I was happy to find grandson something cooler to wear also. A nice addition to the area to supply basic needs. read more

Super convenient for the students on campus! The location is tight and cozy so don't come expecting to get your full Target experience. This is mini version with just about everything you could imagine or need. I'd like to say its small but meaningful! Very tiny, it's an embarrassment to be called a Target. And employees don't even know where anything is and there aren't enough of them.

The store itself is fine given its small size and selection, but beware of elevated prices geared towards the small sect of rich college kids on their parents' dime. My BIGGEST issue is the STARBUCKS! I usually go there in between my zoom classes and the line has usually gotten to be So long. Going in the morning i used to love getting my latte or flat white from Meg or Nichole, but this semester i have to go later in the afternoon and I SWEAR these new employees have like ZERO training. I wish I had time to tell the manager they need to do better and care for the success of their employees. One lady who is older (30s maybe?, African American) than the rest of the staff just keeps cleaning around the outside of starbucks or behind employees WHILE they are STRUGGLING with big lines. She is a bad team player and probably a lazy worker if she treats her peers like that and the manager should do something because this joint is falling apart regarding coffee and customer service!!! read more

I wasn't crazy about my experience here and don't think it will be a regular go-to for me. Granted, I'm not their "target" market so my review is based on someone who shops for a family and cares about competitive pricing. Target sets out what it intends to do quite well. Being a mini version of the real thing draws upon the people working or living downtown as well as the captive audience of college kids who don't have cars and love all things Target. Imagine running out on your lunch break to pick up a few things and not have to get in your car not to mention the impulse buying you can do! There are mostly self checkout kiosks with one or two regular checkers which also double for customer service. There are small carts or handbaskets to use. No regular size buggies. There are no corrals in the parking lot behind store if you bought more than you can carry and you have to walk around the building by the delivery dicking area what is blocked by a large delivery truck many times making you go around into the path of cars. Not cool. They need a back entrance to facilitate larger trips. I asked customer service what people did who wanted to buy a grocery haul or multiple items for their apartment and dorm and he said they estimated the average ticket would be about $12 so they weren't expecting anyone to use the store like that. Okay, I won't. But I also have no reason to come downtown to half or 1/3 Target, especially when things are priced 20% higher. It seems like they will miss out on much needed revenue if they limit the kind of shopping they want you to do and I'm pretty sure their overhead has to be enormous. read more

Love this Target! I live in the neighborhood and understand that I might swap convenience for cost and that they are not a full size Target. I am amazed at the variety they carry. On occasion they are low or out of stock on items but replenish quickly (typically in 24 hours). Produce and dairy are fresh. The employees are great. Very nice. Very helpful. Love the the pharmacists! Got my vaccine/booster here. read more

They had a jacket on sale at store, but it was not my size. They had the same jacket online and told me I could order online with my redcard and switch for the price they had here if I shipped it to the store. I came here today to pick it up, and a different manager was here who said they would not honor the price. So now I don't have the jacket I was looking forward to. The manager was very rude, adamant, and refused to honor the discount. I explained to him how upset I was and felt mislead, and asked if he could honor it. He gave me a dirty look and said no. This manager is named Robert and I will try avoid shopping here in the future while he is here. Very upset. I got home and realized that a box of sparkling water had been thrown on top of my to go chinese food smashing it and ruining two brand new shirts I bought. $30 worth of brand new clothes stained and ruined. Very upset with my experience and will definitely try to avoid Robert. read more

This is the perfect spot on Franklin St. I honestly don't know how I survived without it. It's small enough to be unobtrusive, yet it still has most everything that you would need. They have a decent food and grocery selection, and the staff is very attentive. The only downside for me is that it's a little pricey for a college town but it's perfect if you need to pick up something quickly. read more

Great Target for a quick run for basic essentials you've forgotten. They carry everything from cosmetics, to clothes, cold beer/drinks, home decor and tools, and a small section of groceries. The Starbucks inside is frequented by students. Mostly self-checkout but they usually have 1 associate ready to check you out. read more

This is the tiniest Target I've ever been in, but it is on Franklin Street and it caters to college kids. They do have clothes, alcohol, non perishable food and a small refrigerated section. The employees I've interacted with have been very friendly and helpful, it's a very clean Target, and that all rings true of the Starbucks inside as well! There is a parking garage closeby for those going to Target. Right now it's free parking, but I saw the rates and even when they start charging-the rates are cheap! I believe the first 45 minutes are free, so considering this Target isn't where you'll do a full out grocery shopping trip-you'll probably get to park for free! read more

Great to have in the neighborhood for all your essentials, but parking needs to be fixed. This store has all the basics; food, home goods, pharmacy etc, starbucks and is well stocked. Found everything I needed and was really glad I didn't have to drive out to the 'burbs, it'll definitely be my go-to for everyday things. Basically mini target, yay! On the other hand, parking is a bit of a mess. There's a free parking garage in a two-story garage behind the store but that was full of cars that were most definitely not actually shopping at target (40+ cars does not translate into maybe 20 people in the store). There's also paid parking a block away with a 'target this way' sign but I couldn't tell if I could park there. And basically if you don't get one of the 5 or 6 spots in front of the store on Franklin street you can't take your cart anywhere near your car. That's fine for a quick shop, but I ended up not buying a bunch of things (OJ, water, soda) because I had no way of getting them to my car on the second floor of the garage in the back. This isn't so much a 'downtown CH' issue but a design issue - why isn't there a door at the back where I can get to the garage, for example? Or even a couple of 'loading spots' somewhere would be super useful. So, honestly, just writing this out again, I'll probably not be here all that often. Unless I'm specifically after one small thing (ie lightbulbs, as I was yesterday) I'm pretty likely to get it somewhere else. read more

Yay! Target on Franklin Street. Theres makeup, groceries, apartment living, apparel, greeting cards, school supplies, CVS pharmacy and a Starbucks. The aisles are a little tight, especially when using the shopping carts. The prices seem to be either the same or 5-10% higher than at Super Target @ Southpoint. I don't want to complain, but it was really hot inside the store unless you were in the ice cream aisle. The departments are abbreviated compared to a regular size Target, but I think they did a great job picking out what to include in the store. So we are new to Chapel Hill and this was the nearest Target. We were moving literally the whole day, we finally got a chance to settle down and realized we still had our boxes of towels in storage. We needed a shower badly lol! So we looked up the nearest Target to go grab a few. When I noticed it was on Franklin St. I rolled my eyes and told my fiance that i bet its going to be a bunch of chaos. But it wasnt. Found what I needes quickly. I had to give them five stars because of this amazing cashier. She asked how our day was going and told us she hopes it gets better. That meant a lot being that our day was hectic and i was exhausted. She also was kind enough to take time out to look up directions to lead us back home. Wish I caught her name. read more
