I took a bait to try this restaurant as my regular Indian spots were closed. Placed an order though GrubHub app. Order was ready for pick up after 45 minutes. It's a small spot with limited booths. Ordered Tandoori Chicken, it comes with Naan or Rice as side. Expected it to be in the curry consistency seeing the sides but it was dry. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the Naan that came along tasted fresh. Decent packaging, I had mentioned to include cutlery when placing the order but they did not include them. The cashier or the owner sounded so rude. The price didn't match the portions. Customer service can be better. read more

This is a real hidden gem! If you are looking for daily homestyle fresh Pakistani food of the highest quality in this area then this is the ONLY place you need to go! It's well worth the drive too! We were staying at a hotel in Ypsilanti and after careful research I found this place in Canton. They have a simple straight forward menu but they can make anything for catering and the like. This is a quaint little mom and pop place that's serving up the best Lahori desi food we've had in a long time! The sesame naan tasted like roghni nana with real ghee on the top and brought back my fond memories of having it in Lahore long ago. This was the closet to Lahore roghni naan we've had ever in over 25 years!! They was so good we ordered 20 to take back home with us as you're not going to find this flavor and quality anywhere in US! The tandoori chicken was melt in your mouth magnificent as they make their own spice blend that I won't forget! The goat biryani and chicken karahi was so good that we couldn't stop eating even though we were full. The goat was plentiful, tender and flavorful. The owners Ali & Aisha are very welcoming and you almost feel like you're at your Auntie's or at home. They make everything themselves. Very generous portions of everything at a really good price! The chutney was a nice accompaniment to the entrees as well. When was the last time you had a true authentic samosa with jovaan (carom seed) in the crust?!! Nothing was a bit oily but packed with unique and familiar flavors. Aisha just made a fresh batch of rus malai desert and it was like biting into puffy light delicious pillows. Ordered a phone-in carry-out recently. I wanted to order Tandoori Kabbas (beef), but they were out. They offered to give me a mix of chicken and lamb to try those instead. Both were very good, especially with the sauce they came with (cilantro yogurt/cream or something of the sort?) The lamb masala was the highlight of the meal. Moderately spicy, incredibly tender and flavorful, it was complemented by some of the most fantastic naan I've ever had. I wished I ordered a bit more of the naan. I got mild chicken tikka biryani for the kids. I thought it was rather bland - the rice was tender and cooked perfectly, but the dish lacked flavor. It wasn't just not spicy - it was just mostly lightly colored rice with a bit of chicken in it. I wanted Gulab Jamun for dessert, but they didn't have any. I ordered kheer ("rice pudding") instead. It was good for me - not too sweet - but my kids wouldn't eat it. COVID Summary: Google and other sites say this place isn't open for dine-in, but there were two large tables dining in when I went to pick up my food. Everyone working was wearing a mask, although one person was "cheating" and it wasn't covering the nose. :) Overall, I'll change my ordering strategy and definitely try again. We found this place by mistake, missed our turn and found this awesome hole in the wall, aromas of home cooking. The place was packed for a family party, so I ordered take out while we waited in the car. Lady who took my order said she only had certain items since she had cooked for the party so we got the Butter chicken, which my wife enjoyed. I have the mutton curry and chIcken karahi with naan, was just like home. Also got the mutton pilau, mutton could have been cooked a bit more, hence the 4 stars. but rice was perfect. Ordered chicken and potato masala and extra naan - ordered online and noted to please make very mild. Got to restaurant and was slightly concerned over wet towels on the floor in a pile in the dining area and a fan- Owner or waitress seemed irritated that I was there- she said "ten minutes" that was fine (I had waited the half hour that the online order had specified but understand if needed more time) There was a bag of naan on the table by register, another customer came in and picked it up and she grabbed from his hands and laid it back down (both had touched it) - when my food ready, she waved at me again and said "here is your food, I gave you two pieces of naan"- the bread that was on the counter - I had ordered and paid for the extra so wasn't sure why she said that and I should have asked for new bread that hadn't been handled so much or on a counter with flys-again she seemed irritated - I got home and the food (for me) was heavily seasoned with hot red pepper, you could even see it in the food easily- so hot my mouth burned, I couldn't eat it- I know that is a matter of taste, but I had asked for very mild- my son ate his chicken masala and said it was ok. read more

As I walked up to the restaurant the smell of trash was overpowering. I walked in with my family to a guy sitting at a table who didn't even bother getting up to seat us. Told us to sit down from where he was sitting. They gave us our menus without saying a word. The napkin holders were covered in gunk and the blinds were sticky. Not sure why you're supposed to eat with styrofoam. Am I at a picnic or a restaurant? I understand this is a small family owned restaurant but you guys really need to work on your customer service, make the customer feel welcome and tidy up! Absolutely delicious. We went when they were actually not open to the public because of Ramadan (I think they were doing only iftar dinners), but they opened up for us because I was very pregnant. We were in search of good and spicy Indian or Pakistani food for dinner (trying to get the baby out). We ordered the lamb masala and butter chicken, along with veggie samosas and naan. Everything we ate was very flavorful. My lamb masala was very spicy like I had asked and tasted amazing. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It's seriously the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life. My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning for a traditional Pakistani brunch (halwa puri)and the first thing we noticed is that the restaurant was empty and a few tables were unclean and had crumbs all over the bench. Well after moving to the cleanest table we could find, we were met by an older woman who said "the menu is on the table" in a very rude way. We then placed our order of one halwa puri and one zinger burger and the woman just said "no." then after asking what we couldn't order, she said"we don't have zinger burgers". Um why was it on the menu then? Im pretty sure she was just too lazy to cook one and offered no explanation until asked. We then ordered 2 halwa puris. Things only got worse from there. We heard the woman MICROWAVING everything in the kitchen! That's right, everything was microwaved and we could hear the microwave beep as soon as it finished. Then to make things even worse, after being served food that was HALF HOT AND HALF COLD, a younger and older man came in from the back (who we presumed was her husband and son) and they got a plate of food from the kitchen and sat down at a table and ate like it was their home dining room! The older man was talking on the phone the whole time and the younger guy was watching football and listening to videos on his phone ON FULL VOLUME while eating across from us!! It was so loud and rude, and I seriously wonder how they even manage to stay open! For 2 halwa puris, one cup of tea, and 2 water bottles we paid $20 and it wasn't even worth $5. The quality of the food was terrible and the service us the WORST I'd ever experienced. My husband and I were in such a bad mood when we left that it ruined our Sunday plans. I saw reviews giving this a lower rating and can't help but to think its for the previous owners. I have now been there twice and although the first time was very slow, it had great flavor and a friendly server. This last time they were extremely attentive and even better by sharing some history of the dishes. The new owners are working hard to make the space prettier and cleaner but are still small business people bringing the best of their homeland to greater Detroit. Our dishes were Afghani / Pakistani recipes that blew us away. Very seldom is the chicken cooked all the way through so so well . I would highly recommend the mutton kadhai .. Where do i start. I got a 25 dollar restaurant.com card and decided to take a friend here after a long while. The place was dirty. Booth had pillows and the lady who works there picked them up. Told thr lady i had the gc. She rolled her eyes and told me how it worked where i have to order 25 dollars worth of food. And get 25. I told her that i was aware of that. The naan came out in 20 minutes. We were hungry. Started munching. 10 minutes later our first entree does. 10 mins later comes the karachi and 10 minutes later the grilled stuff. Chicken tikkas were good. Karachi was to spicy and the biryani and the tandoori boti was horrible. Kebabs never came out. The lady said they are too busy so no kebabs. She said she will still charge me 25. I am like why am i paying for food i didnt get. She said get the kebabs later. I said ok but then rudely says i wont give you the naan for it. I am like i will pay u the dollar for it. Or dont give it. Then when its time to pay. She says 25. I give her a card and she is like why are you paying with a card. I didnt have cash she yelled we have to pay for it. Then says want your receipt. I tell her yes i would like to leave a tip. Why did i saw that. Not sure. She says i dont care if you dont. What a rude lady. I still left three dollars thinking of the poor old bus boy she was yelling at. Next day call and go for kebabs. She said to pick up kebabs. My dad went to pick em up. She forgot. Then went shopped. Came back. Still not ready. I mean is she running a business or a charity. Will never go there. No one else should either. Things have changed here since the previous owners, truly delighted and pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The new owners work hard at keeping the place neat and clean. Till now i have had their delicious sandwiches, chicken boti tikkas, and this morning the halwa poorie aloo n channa....was yum...love their Naan bread. Every time I have gone , I gave noticed that the food is always fresh and piping hot...don't get a lot of really fresh food in many other Ind/Pak restaurants. .often it's been sitting for a while..not here..all fresh..so do expect a small wait..its well worth it. .. read more
