We heard about this place from a friend so decided to check it out. We ordered Beef Nihari, beef Bihari Kabbob, and Chicken Biryani. Food is authentic Pakistani and known for their BBQ dishes. Service was fast and friendly, it was Sunday so place was nit really busy. Dinning area can accommodate around 30-35 ppl. It is not a fancy place, but if you are looking for good fresh food then give them a try.

chicken tikka biryani. skip this entirely and just stick to the regular chicken biryani. 100% not worth the selection.

I came here about 2 weeks ago to pickup a regular chicken biryani which was quite delicious, well spiced with a very generous portion lasting me nearly 2 meals! After this I was craving biryani again and decided to try the chicken tikka biryani tonight, thinking what could possibly be so strikingly different. what a surprise I was about to uncover. coming home and opening my box, it looked like a chicken tikka masala portion in which a bunch of rice had been mixed in. The rice in the regular biryani was par for the course but in the chicken tikka one, it was more on the mushy end tbh. The color was firetruck red, definitely evident of the sheer amount of food color, not the color which arises from the spices. I was hoping for some amount of mild spicy since I had specified that but this lacked any semblance of flavor or spice. To my end, I assumed this would be dry (no curry/gravy) chicken tikka pieces made like the regular biryani. But with a peculiar appearance and absent taste profile, I don't think I'm going to be finishing this one tonight.

4/5!! Cozy restaurant, friendly service, delicious food for a reasonable price! For a small restaurant they have a very extensive selection of items on the menu ranging from appetizers to mains to desserts! And as told by my Indian friends - one of the few places that really captures their tastebuds and heart in deliciousness and authenticity! If you're looking for Pakistani/Indian/Indo-Chinese food, then this is the place! It's conveniently located among many of the other popular Indian restaurants in the area - sandwiched by Aroma and Krishna, and across the street from India Flavors! But hey, if you don't want to get stuffed from a lunch buffet (don't get me wrong I LOVE Indian lunch buffets), this is the place to try! So undoubtedly this place has a convenient shared parking lot for the plaza of restaurants. [Recommended]: - Lamb Biryani (Seasoned rice with marinated lamb & veggies): such fluffy and tasty rice with tender marinated lamb! Such good biryani!!! - Achari Chicken: it's like a more liquidy curry with peppers/spices and the highlight - Indian pickles!! I loved that the chicken was so tender and delicious, and the pickles are divine! Just don't have too much all at once! Haha - Paratha (fluffier version of naan!): we went right at opening time and they offered paratha instead of naan and OMG it was amazing! It's like a softer and fluffier version of naan, and goes just as well with the curries! [Other Food]: - Kadahi Chicken: this was also a really tasty curry with tender chicken, but it was too spicy for my tastebuds so I didn't enjoy it as much! Overall, I'll be back again for sure! The food here really doesn't disappoint! I really need to make it through the menu and try all the other tasty items they offer!

One of the best places for North Indian/Pakistani food in Farmington. They serve the best Chicken Tikka Biryani, Chicken 65 and Achari Gosht around this locality filled with Indian restaurants. I prefer to do a take out as I am not a fan of the ambience. I have also tried their Nihari and Halwa Puri on weekends which are quite delicious. When in Detroit, I am a regular here. The dishes are rightly priced and their portions are quite large. I always have food left for the next day. Note - The amount of oil in their curries can be overwhelming. I usually drain the oil as per my liking. The owners are very polite and welcoming.

Went to this place during Ramadan & made it just before Iftar. The owner was still very nice and did not rush us and took our order and made our food pretty quick! We ordered: Chicken 65: wet style & tastes sort of desi-Chinese like but really good!! Definitely get this! I could eat this as an entree! Chicken Korma: A little on the thin side for me but my husband liked it. Just depends on your style and preference but flavor is good! Chicken Jalfrezi: also tased a bit desi-Chinese style but again really good! Iftar Box: included dates, pakoras, samosa, chicken nuggets, Chana chaat and rooh-Afza sharbat (lemonade) All very delicious! Only the samosa was a bit different since it had daal mixed with the traditional potatoes. Very small place not super decorated but good service, REALLY good food and they have plenty of gluten free options and a few dairy free options. Definitely give this place a try!!!

Fresh made Haleem with fluffy naan bread

We were looking for Pakistani food and this place definitely has it! It's worth the drive from wherever you are coming from. We had the puri halwa and an order of Haleem. The puri's were the fluffiest, lightest, non oily and best tasting puris we've had in a very long time. They prepare their own dough and make these from scratch which you can tell and taste! The Channa's were cooked fresh and had a very nice distinct taste of their own as did the aloo. The Halwa was excellent as it had a very smooth flavor. The Haleem and naan were very good. Haleem was not a bit oily and just the right amount of flavor. Nothing was over spiced or over cooked either! Naans were hot and fluffy, a nice size and cut nicely for serving. This place doesn't offer a buffet but the food is so fresh and flavorful that you walk out satisfied knowing you had super fresh hot food that hasn't been sitting in a warmer! Everything was served to us fresh and hot and nice portions. Very clean, nice and simple place to have a peaceful meal. It's a small place but that's what adds to its charm. The food was so good that we ordered more food to take for dinner. Good selection of items and variety on the menu. The owners were super nice. We would definitely go back here to eat!

The best Pakistani food in whole Michigan, its not your regular hi fi restaurant with fancy lights and waiters running here and there. Its a restaurant with food made with luv so just shush and enjoy your food.

Zayeqa is in the middle of a few other restaurants on Orchard Lake. It's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall compared to the other places, but the food is (1) good and (2) cheap. Their portions are a bit smaller but they do not skimp out on quality. Not a bad option for lunch.

We ordered Nihari for myself and butter chicken for wifey. Both were exquisite. I give the meal 12 out of 5 stars.

They say one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. That couldn't be truer for this place. Zayeka, which translates to "flavor", is a small little place with magical food. I literally have tears streaming as I write this review. That's how good the food it. I ordered the Nihari, a very traditional muslim dish that takes many hours to prepare. I've read that working people would have Nihari for breakfast to fuel themselves for the day ahead. It's a rich dish but it's exquisite. Only someone with magic in their fingers and years of experience under their belt can execute on this dish. It's like a Picasso or Van Gogh, but with food. So when you come here don't just eat the Nihari, please also say hello to the chef. You'll be glad. And we'll be back.

Chicken tikka Biryani from Zayeqa... most terrible food I have eaten

Awful chicken tikka biryani ! Unappetizing and totally distasteful ! I cannot believe they serve such a pathetic dish , food colors thrown into stale day old rice with Lord knows what other nonsense ... very disappointing to have the misfortune of having tried this awful dish 0/10 very poor offering ...

Chicken tikka masala. Oil covering the top layer. Much more oil before I poured some out on my rice to eat.
    Daniel B.

The chicken tikka masala had a coating of oil floating on the top. It was bland, not rich and creamy, and it didnt taste like any other tikka masala I've ever had, in a bad way. My simosa app was incorrect - I ordered them with beef, but got the vegetarian kind. They were also bland, and so was the green sauce that goes with them. Absolutely no taste. The mango lassi was undrinkable...very very sour. The best thing from my whole meal was the free side of rice.

I was sorely disappointed in my meal. They were very crowded on a early Saturday evening. I recommend allotting extra wait time whether you're dining in or carrying out. Judging the crowd size I was really excited, anticipating delicious food. However, my food was not great at all. It was subpar as a matter of fact. I ordered a honey chicken combination plate. The egg roll was the only thing that I could see going back for. It had lots cabbage and was very crispy, but lacked any seasoning. Salt made it better. The fried rice was bland there was nothing in it, but just a few bits of chicken. Not even enough chicken, where you could call it chicken fried rice. It seemed as if a few pieces of chicken just happen to have fallen over into the rice. There were no sprouts or egg or onion as with usual Chinese restaurants. The honey chicken entree was disappointing. The chicken was very tough and was not fried to golden brown, it was beige and pasty. The lemon sauce had a strong lemony taste, but yet wasn't flavorful. Nothing I had was seasoned or even salted. Perhaps the food lacks seasoning due to their clientele. I did appreciate the customer service. One woman was cashing out customers while also taking phone orders--and did an outstanding job, getting people in and out. I paid eighteen dollar for what I thought would be dinner and also lunch the next day if I liked the food. There was enough for 3. Parking is a shared lot.
