The butter chicken is yummy, and so is the naan. I ordered through the Yelp app and the food was just coming out of the kitchen when I arrived - perfect timing. In addition to carry out, Reshmi has a full dining room, but it looked a little down at the mouth, so I don't think I would dine in. However, I will order carry out from here again. read more

One the best Bangladeshi/ Indo food you will taste in this region. Reshmi have stepped up there game to the next level. I have been getting food for about two months on a regular and the freshness and the taste has been consistent I recommend you give them a try if you have not already done so. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy read more

Had the Reshmi selection, lamb rezala and mixed vegetable curry - authentic tasting food, reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed the food and the courteous service. Our waiter was the teenaged nephew of the owner, and he forgot our tea, but he's new to this. We had dall soup, which was my daughter's favorite, but I liked the mullagatawny soup better. The owner gave it to us for free because he was out of the vegetable pakoras. The chicken tikka masala was amazing. My daughter had the vegetable curry and a samosa, which she said was the best she'd ever had. The owner suggested the biryani for our next visit. The tea was also amazing. It was like a spiced chai. The only bad thing was that it was a very small glass. As to atmosphere, the paintings on the wall and the chandeliers are very beautiful, but none of the tables match. It looks like it was once a carry out restaurant. But we enjoyed the simplicity and homeyness. We'll be back. read more

Really liked this place. Everything here is very affordable, entrees are around 8 bucks, soups 3, appetizers no more than 5. The homie and I ordered samosas, phal, tandoori, salad, lassis and a chicken wrap, all came out to about 30 bucks. Everything was spiced well and well cooked. Waiter was super nice, helpful and attentive. He warned me that the phal was incredibly hot too lol, i said yeah whatever. It was a pretty medium spice level for me but I like that they do spice things up a little bit! If you have a touchy stomach you definitely might want to grab a cold lassi to coat the innards if you're going to get something spicy ;) It's kind of in an out of the way part of Hamtown, I'm guessing that's why there wasnt a ton of people there. Shame, because its one of very few good Bangladeshi/ Indian restaurants around there. Definitely will come back when I'm in the neighborhood, looking forward to trying some of thier curries! read more

Okay, I ordered from this place because I had a hair appointment & I needed to eat haha. Found this place on Yelp based off of reviews & they delivered to where I was. Honestly this place doesn't get enough credit I feel like. I got so much Indian food, and for such a good price. Also the food was AMAZING!!! No lie. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. I ate three plates full then continued to have leftovers for the next two days. So glad I ordered from here. Everything was just so flavorful & tasty. Wasn't too spicy or anything. Perfect. read more

Superb Indian/Bengali restaurant. Please don't be deceived by the looks of this place. The food was super flavorful and fresh. My friend and I shared the Naga biryani, mixed grill tandoori, and chicken 65. These were probably the best versions we've had of these dishes in the Metro area. The spice level was perfect. Be warned though, the Naga biryani is only for real ones who can handle their spice. Treat it with respect. The mixed grill came out on a sizzling iron pan and was super flavorful and moist. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He made sure we had plenty of naan and water. To finish, we ordered the gulab jaamun which is a dense cake ball soaked in a flavored simple syrup served chilled. We got 6 enormous pieces for $5! In total, my friend and I, both big guys with big appetites, ate like kings for under $40. We will be returning with our entire crew for dinner in the very near future. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting! If you want to be sick - go ahead. Lazy and arrogant staff. I've canceled my pickup order after 50 min of waiting. It supposed to be 20 min. They didn't cancel my credit card payment! read more

Please direct all your Indian/Bangladeshi/Pakistani food cravings, as well as your hard-earned monies, to Reshmi. A trusted source, i.e. my boyfriend, told me the chai here is just as good as what he's had in India, and I gotta say, from personal experience, it's like a smooth, balanced coating for your esophagus--and soul. Their naan is among the best I've had, and the chana masala paired with their basmati rice is also hella good. I highly recommend you try their pasanda, with your choice of chicken or lamb marinated in a sweet almond creamy sauce. I'm still dreaming about it. I've been ruined for all other related food joints in the Metro Detroit area. A note on the ambience: I've been informed it's pretty barren at times, which is insane. I'm into the diner booths from yesteryear. Go here, take a lover, or arrive solo. Your soul will be content. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! Their pan fried pomfret (a type of fish) as well as pomfret curry is authentic and delicious! Also, you can pick your spice level: I chose to make the pan fried fish "extra extra hot" and the curry "Madras hot". They were both really spicy, so I think the spice levels here are pretty authentic/not-watered down for non-South Asians. They also deliver to downtown Detroit! Overall, I totally recommend this place if you want spicy, authentic Indian/Bangladeshi food! read more

Awesome food. Love the samosas. Very reasonable prices (like 2 days of food for 2 people for $30) I have not ordered from here in over a year. Missed the food so much. The staff is always so polite. I will always stop in if in town. read more

This is our go-to Indian take-out place. Diverse set of dishes, good drinks and naan, and even the mild and medium dishes have a lot of spice flavors without just being spicy. The price is great, and the takeout dishes are mostly recyclable. We do mostly vegetarian food from here, and never feel let down or shortchanged. I like going here, and will keep doing so. You should too! read more

I have got delivered Chicken tikka biriyani and other dishes. Biriyani was not fresh, come up with bad smell due to old. I think they just packed old biriyani and delivered. All other food was great and delivered on time. read more

I'm giving 1 star only because I walked in during their business hours, the man at the register didn't even acknowledge me and then walks out of the restaurant... there were people in the kitchen who came to see if someone was there and then a man walked by telling me to leave as they are not open. I find this level of low service absolutely unacceptable. read more

Yuuuum. Really good food. Especially the naan and samosas. They delivered exactly on time, and they have an awesome selection of food - was pleasantly surprised to find pasanda on the menu, which is my favorite, but hardly anywhere ever offers it. Coworker ordered chicken 65 which was pretty good, too. I'll definitely get food from here again. read more

Would give 3 1/2 if I could. Really well prices and solid. The raita didn't look anything special but had some nice flavors. Enjoyed the chicken jalfrezi and shrimp special masala. Only downside was the mango chutney, pretty one note and far too sweet. But certainly not a reason not to order there! read more

This was our first time ordering from here. They delivered in under 1 hour and the food was still HOT! Local places won't deliver outside of hmm, 2 miles, this place is in Hamtramck and we live in Ferndale. Ok, so we purchased a rather large spread just to try them out. Shingara: Didn't know what to expect. I like it. Puff pastry filled with some vegetables and potato concoction. Nice. Vegetable Samosa: Similar to what you'll find at most restaurants that sell them. Mainly potato filled with a few vegetables. I like them so there really wasn't a wow factor, most Samosa's haven't been a WOW for me, I just like the dish itself. Aloo Chop: Didn't have a clue as to what I should expect. It's deep fried so hey, couldn't be bad, right? Good different type of dish. The crust was nice. Aloo Chaat: Anything with coriander has to be at the least, good. This was a good dish. the potatoes could've been cooked a bit longer, but otherwise it paired very well with the use of the naan. I'd order it again. Chicken Tikka Masala: I didn't eat this, I'm non dairy and no meat/poultry. My wife on the other hand, she enjoyed this. Said it was "YUMMY". Shrimp Biryani: Nice change from a typical Shrimp Fried Rice. I'm not sure if they're prepared the same, but the similarity was there. Now as far as the shrimp...amazing. They didn't use those small ones, they used nice sized shrimp and I had plenty of them in the dish. This was a WOW for me as most restaurants seem to use the smaller shrimps. Tasting the shrimp alone, you can tell they've seasoned them differently than that of the rice mixture. Naan: A bit thick. I've been to a restaurant that made a similar bread but they called it a Roti. I don't know how similar and different they should be, but it was good, especially with the dishes we had. Peshwari Naan: Not as sweet as I've had before, but it did the job. We will definitely be ordering from them again. Maybe not as much as we did today, but definitely a go-to spot. Delivery from miles away 5/5, the food was hot when it came, and the delivery guy was good. Food Overall 4/5. Experience overall with Reshmi 4/5. read more

Butter Chicken--container was filled with oil. Butter chicken is supposed to be with tender thigh meat. It was made with dry chicken breast. The order comes with naan or rice. I opted for both, but the bread provided was not naan; really not sure what the hell it was. It was such an unsatisfying experience that in order butter chicken again tonight from my usual establishment. read more

Massively underrated. Go here. Great deal on unique Indian. Love the chef reshmi specials.

I ordered the chicken and vegetable curry and somosas via Eat24. It took 75 minutes for my food to arrive, but it's what I expected living in the city. The food was piping hot, flavorful, well-portioned for two people and delicious. I'd definitely order from them again. read more

I love eating at Reshmi. The most delicious mango lassi, saag paneer, and samosas can be found here. I frequently come here (multiple times in a month) and it's because I can always expect amazing food at a reasonable price and wonderful treatment from the friendly staff. Ordered butter chicken but they mixed up left over curry and gave ne that. Terrible experience. I don't recommend.

I called in and placed a order. The guy who took my order said it will be ready in 30 mins. I go in 45 mins later thinking that the order will be ready. I walk in and ask for my order. The guy looked me in the face and had a puzzled looked on his face. He rushes to the back and tells the chef that I was there to pick up the order and I hear pots moving. He comes out 1 min later from the back and tells me it will be ready in 10 mins. I asked him "you didn't even make the food yet?" He says no and that he's sorry. I told him it's okay, and walked out. I live right around the corner from there and this was my first time ordering from there. I will never order from there again. read more

Have stopped in for takeout here now a couple times... food is good quality... huge servings at a low price... seriously try this place out

I tried to order takeout from Reshmi the day I moved to Detroit. The reviews for the food were good and Indian food sounded ideal after a long day of moving. I used their website and ordered through a third party, Eat 24. I expected the food to be ready in about 15 minutes but I soon got a call from Eat 24 that it would take an hour. Fine, I waited an hour then drove to the restaurant. Once I arrived, I was told that the chef refused to even look at my order and it would be at least another hour (if at all) before I could get my food. By this point I was hungry and decided to cancel my dinner order although I did buy a mango lassi, which was ready to go. It tasted delicious but did not make up for the fact that I had to figure out something else for dinner in an unfamiliar place on a day that I was exhausted and hungry. I also had to go through a frustrating process with the third party to get my money refunded, but that is not up to Reshmi. Overall, I cannot speak to the quality of the food but I would give them no stars for service, even though the guy at the front was perfectly polite, nothing was being done about my actual order. read more

Ordered butter chicken, and I received a completely different chicken dish (which was inedible). I called to ask for a refund and was met with multiple excuses, they even asked me if I was still going to eat it.. like why does that matter? You gave me the wrong order, knowingly. I mentioned that I was there to pick up my order of butter chicken and the guy gave me a weird smile. I think they were out of it and knew they were giving me the wrong order. I was switched to multiple people on the phone and gentleman told me that someone would call me back in a few hours to issue the refund. Never received any call. Terrible food and terrible service. poor service, warm tap water to drink. the boneless lamb biryani turned out to be the left over chunks with bone of the lamb that i'm sure nobody else wanted to eat. they totally forgot or naan. my favorite part of indian meals is the lentils and these were the most bland lentils ever. no flavor at all. i had to add salt to make them palatable. also the next day, let's just say reshmi to the bathroom. i will never be back. love, juston read more
