Non veg Thali - butter chicken, curry chicken and matter paneer
    Alyssa H.

Non veg thali -$12. Butter chicken curry chicken and matter panner. This was my first time here and I am so satisfied. This has to be one of my favorite meals I've ever had- the curry chicken and butter chicken are dream worthy. The portions were perfect. I finished it all. They give you rice, naan, fresh veggies, yogurt and a dessert ( I forget the name - it's like a cheese ball in honey but donut consistency.) I cannot wait until I come back to try the Biryani. The service was quick there was, only three of us in here. The place was clean. Side note - I cannot handle any spice like mild + is too hot for me usually however this food was full of flavor and barely spicy- thank goodness

I went here a while ago. I ordered the vegetarian plate with garlic naan, which was extra. The main dishes were good, the naan was good, nice garlicky flavor, speckled minced garlic. Spices were decent. The food overall was a good sampling. I would have liked and wanted more and larger portions of the main dishes, but it's thali after all.

I tried few different things from this place. Both their veggie and non veg thali were good but their veggie thali items definitely tasted a lot better than the meat ones. Their pani puri was not good at all. Wouldn't recommend it! Their chicken biryani was decent also. Not as good as I expected based on the reviews. I would definitely come back for their veggie thali again!!

Ok, let's talk Indian food. Cause this is one of my absolute favorite type of culture cuisine. There is none higher when if comes to Indian. Then I saw this spot on yelp serving in Thali style,,, I had to straight up pay these guys a visit. Plus my samosa craving comes hella strong on days when I get my Indian craving on. The restaurant is set up as a eatery type,, you go up to the counter, and let them know what you like, they make your food, server comes out from the back and drops your meal at your table. We did two of their meat thali sets. Each thali comes with 3 types of meat dishes, basmati rice, pickles, sweet chutney and yogurt for accompaniments. If you do, you might want to order some samosas as well,, these are little potato and veggie patties that are a popular street food in india. Also, don't forget the garlic naan. Because my Indian meal is never complete with garlic naan. After you've devoured all that good stuff and it's time for shoot the breeze session. Order you and your friends some Mango Lassi for the win. Yes sir, the proper way to eat Indian food is with your hands. So don't be shocked it you see a proper Indian getting down and dirty with a thali full of food with his bare hands. I too get's down like that, it's the best way to experience Indian cuisine at its finest. Plus I am a firm believer that bare is always best. It's good to be alive, don't waste it by eating fish sticks and chicken fingers. Your taste buds deserve better. Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

This place has been on my bookmark list for a while and today we have a couple of appointments in the area so today is the day. Be prepared to go to the counter to pick what you want to order from the menu and pay. They give you a number to place on your table and then you sit down; they will bring your order to the table as soon as it is ready. We decided to order two Vegetable Thali Combos so we each picked three currys and naan and dessert. I picked chickpea curry, spinach paneer, and potato cauliflower curry. The dish included raita, basmati rice, and naan which we changed to garlic naan. Cutting to the chase, everything was tasty and delicious, not too spicy but you knew it was there, and the quantity was perfect as we were both satisfied and had nothing to take home. We'll definit

Thali is a fantastic deal. Veg $8 and meat $10. Choose 3 different entrees.

When it comes to ethnic cuisine, Madison Heights is where it's at. And this Punjabi restaurant does not disappoint! If I lived closer, I would be here at least once a week eating my way through the menu. When you walk in, the place is fairly spacious but sparsely decorated. Very casual vibe. Definitely a place where you can feel comfortable eating by yourself, enjoying lunch or dinner while reading a good book. When I walked in on a Thursday evening around 5pm, there was no one in the restaurant but I was promptly greeted by a very friendly server. I was asking about the desserts and differences between them and she happily obliged me. If you're looking for variety, the thalis are a great way to try 3 different entrees for a reasonable price. Thali which literally means plate is an assortment of dishes paired with rice, your choice of bread, and dessert. Their thali also comes with a little side salad, bowl of raita (spiced yogurt), and achar (pickled vegetables) which I personally was not a huge fan of. The pickled vegetables are woowee!, pack quite the punch, and the yogurt sauce was too sour for my taste but to each their own. I appreciate being able to try all these dishes as they are without being watered down. The samosas are top notch and at $3 for 2, just add that on as an appetizer. It's a no-brainer. ;) The sauce with the chickpeas packed a nice heat to it but paired with the mint chutney and sweet sauce it was sooooo good. I would be a happy camper just eating that alone. Definitely don't forget about the hot beverages. I like the Masala chai (has added spices like cardamom compared to just the regular chai) and it pairs wonderfully with the rice pudding you get with the thali. I can't say enough nice things about this place! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and worth the drive if you're not.

Was recommended to come here by a friend who dines here often! I really really liked the street style platters called thali. It comes with various dishes to please your taste buds. I usually get the meat platter. You can choose three dishes from their daily menu, a roti or nan, and a small dessert option (go for the Gulab Jamun!). I usually end up getting the chicken tiki masala and butter chicken- delicious! *Tip: If you're not looking to eat a lot, the platter is definitely shareable. Just order extra meat for $3 and another naan.* Samosas were great too, though a bit small. Overall, I like this place a lot. The food is tasty and flavorful. It's not expensive and it's quick! Next time I'm looking forward on trying the biryani.

Punjabi style Thali is their specialty, and I highly recommend this to anyone who has never tried Indian food before! I brought 2 friends here, 1 of whom has never tasted Indian food. Thali style is ideal because you can order a few options per person to try. This restaurant is the best - big portions, heavenly naan, and nothing is too spicy. I ordered the meat Thali, only $10. You can mix and match 3 meats and veggies for this price, and it comes with raita, pickled vegetables, a chopped veggie salad, a giant naan and 1 dessert. My meal was fantastic - I ordered the chicken kofta, chicken curry and chicken makhani. Makhani is one of my favorites because it's so creamy, and this curry was phenomenal! The naan is one of the best parts - a HUGE portion and you can add another to your order for $1. Yes, you read that right. Other places charge $4-$5, but not here! Finished my excellent meal with a masala chai, which was underwhelming, but still hot and plentiful. Will most definitely return, this place is doing everything right.

I like this joint! Everything here was delicious. Tried the vegetarian and animal murderer thali, paneer makhni was the star of the show, lamb curry and palak paneer was pretty damn great also, look forward to getting either one next time i come. Also had lamb biryani which got condemned at 3 in the morning because i was so fat after the thali i couldn't breathe. They also had some kind of pickled vegetable that came with the thali that was so good, taking an order of that home next time ffs why is it so hard to find food with flavor around here! Portions are huge. Prices are super cheap. If you're not an aspiring fat boy like myself no reason you'd have to spend more than 10 bucks here. Everything was spiced really well and i appreciated that there was actually a good amount of chili pepper in the food. Not a whole lot, i would have preferred more, but it was there which is welcome because most restaurants in America will not spice your food unless you beg them and even then they skimp because they don't want you to complain i guess. Next time I'll definitely ask for it to be hot. On the decor side the place is nothing to look at. I'd rather not pay for it in higher food prices though so whatever as far as that. It's fairly clean, although both of our utensils had crusted food on them which was pretty unappetizing. Even when you get clean utensils later you still question how poorly they're cleaning any of their dishes that you could get some like that so it's a really bad look altogether. Lost a star for that. Won't preclude me from eating here though. Still recommended.

Good place to have a quick Indian bite. Affordable items on the list which shows on the quantity of food on plate but tastes really good for the money. They close dine area 30 mins before their closing time, so if you're running late, plan on taking your food home.

The older staffer seems more friendly and checked up on us. Ordered 2 dall soup, medium spice: Gobi Manchurian, Chana masala, dal tadka, butter chicken and mango chicken hot spice. 3 Naan and one rice with each main dish. $78.37 Gobi isn't crispy at all, soggy, it's okay. Not spicy. Heavy breading. The cauliflower falls out of some of the breading. The Daal soup is good, although quite watery. The mango and butter chicken sauce flavors are good, the spicy is definitely got a healthy kick. The chicken pieces are big chunks and they are dry and overcooked. The butter naan is good soft and billowy. The Chana and dal tadka tasted okay, although I did find either a white hair or white stringy lint in the Chana. I was told it might be onion or ginger. Some tandoori chicken is smoking and it's making us cough some. It's tickling our noses. We had to pay quickly and get out of there.
