We got an order to go. We got Chicken Tikka Madala, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Keema Matar. All were very good, and we often order those dishes at other restaurants so have a benchmark to compare. The Keema Mayar was a bit too heavy on the peas--should have been more lamb. We ordered mild because we were with folks not familiar with Indian cuisine. Good thing. Tiny dining area, only 4 tables inside. We sat down and were told someone would come and wait on us. The Bihari kebab looks like my chicken kafta I tend to favor. We ordered the Channa masala, bhindi masala, dal makhani and muglai chicken. No rice and bread. Almost 5 weeks would no rice or bread. The guy that took our food order couldn't believe we didn't want any bread or rice with our food and was nice enough to offer us some free whole wheat roti, we took a pass. We were given porcelain plates with a plastic to go ware, that's fine. The other guests aren't wearing masks walking around the place and the one waiter has his mask under nose and at times by his mouth even. He just needs to tighten them around his nose is all, it's cloth after all. He even serves the food to the tables without his mask on. Ugh. There was a small, short dark black hair in our first Channa masala, yuck. They said they would make us a new one. I had to point out the hair to the maskless waiter. The dal makhani is bland, it's not bad, asked for some hot sauce. None of the dishes are spicy at all. The muglai chicken is good. The bhindi masala is also good, not spicy though. We did get some warm hot sauce to add to all of the 4 dishes, much better flavor for all of her dishes afterwards. The second Channa masala was hair less. It tasted okay, added some spicy sauce to give it more kick. They charged us for the Sam's club bottle waters. Our service from our main waiter was so-so, not warm, didn't wear a mask, except to pull up his mask partly up his nose when he saw we had our masks on still. Food overall was average. The muglai chicken was the best of the 4 dishes for sure. read more

I ordered this after some friends recommended it. It's kind of far from my usual Indian food spot but I thought I would try it. Price wise it is the most inexpensive place I have been to lately. The portions were pretty good too. The Naan was ok, not as light and 'spotted' as my favorite place. I ordered Palak Paneer, Dal Tadka and Tikka Masala. They were all ok, but nothing I would come back for because of the distance. read more

Small restaurant in a strip mall, mostly takeout but they have a few tables for dine in. HUGE menu...so hard to pick something because everything sounds so good! I ordered the Garlic Chicken, which was delicious and comes with rice. I also got an order of their naan bread, which was excellent as well. Very friendly service as well. The 2 Star deduction is because the online photos and descriptions are not detailed enough and the wait was double what was promised. Allergens showed up in Chicken Tikka dishes (Eggs? Red Onions? Serious amounts of Green Peppers?) that have NO business being prominent in that dish. Please, if you are going to vary your preparations -- be clear about what that means. Because of unexpected allergen content, two of our dishes were simply inedible, and we'd already waited DOUBLE the promised length -- so we couldn't wait again. Everyone is short handed now and I am tempering my time expectations accordingly. Still, throwing away two entrees is depressing and means we won't return soon. The Gobi Manchurian is a standout, along with other Indo-Chinese dishes, plus their breads, samosas, paneer, and their strength of flavor -- IF the flavors are classic and accurate. Lentils in soup were not fully cooked. They were crunchy and got stuck in your teeth. Chicken Shish Kebab was shriveled and dried up. I ended up eating the the grilled peppers and onions and taking the soup home to finish cooking. We were the only guests and it took almost 30 minutes to get food made that was not cooked correctly. read more

Heard about this new Indian place by me, had to give it a try. Happy I did! Small place with limited seating, but bright and clean. Ordered takeout because it's been a long day. Samosa, biryani and naan. Ready faster than I could pull out my computer and send a couple of emails and bright me a nice glad it ice cold water while I waited. Got home and yum! Delicious! And the sauces are just out of this world. Can't wait to go back and try other favorites in the menu. So happy it's here and only a couple of miles from me. It may become a weekly stop! read more

Got takeout- matar paneer, chicken Tikka masala, veggie samosas, and naan. Garlic naan is better than the normal naan. The naan and samosas are overly salty. The sauce for chicken Tikka was okay, but the chicken was overcooked and slightly rubbery.my matar paneer felt like matar peas. Lol. I only had 4 pieces of paneer.... I mean it's okay but not great. Not to mention every time we have ordered it to go, it arrives very quick. The veggie samosas, Aloo Gobi, and Chicken Tikka Biryani are my favorite. My partner is a big fan of their chicken vindaloo. However after receiving the notification that my food was ready for pick up after an hour+ of waiting, I got to the restaurant & they claimed they hadn't received my order. I was really excited to try this place and unfortunately was disappointed. Everything was just okay and the samosas were still doughy.

We got the paneer chettinad and veg biriyani. Food was insanely salty and lacked flavor. The biriyani was missing vegetables, but I did found 2 pieces of paneer (?). The biriyani was also served with an egg which wasn't advertised on their menu. Not a huge deal, but we weren't expecting it. The waiter took the egg off with his bare hand which I found a little odd. I will say the service was very good and the workers are extremely friendly, just not the greatest Indian food. read more

This is a hidden gem in Warren. We were en route from Grosse Point Shores heading home to the northern Oakland county suburbs when hunger struck. No dove in to the samosas before we reached the house. The food was fresh and flavorful. The tika paneer was sweet but isn't that why we like Indian takeout? It is decadent! I ordered my food from here and asked for it to be made spicy. It had no flavor at all and no spice. My husbands order was completely wrong. Don't recommend coming here for Indian food. It's worth driving a bit further and going to "new little India" for some authentic food. I'm not sure what this place is, but it's not very good and they don't listen to the customers requests. read more

Wow. This was my first experience with Taj. We ordered takeout. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very impressed. Ordered all vegetarian food. My only negative comment is that the cauliflower in the gobi manchurian was hard. Probably because it was take out though. But the flavor was still good. Everything else was fresh and flavorful!
