We were seated at a table next to the open wall-window so it felt like outside (they do have outside seating as well). Our server was highly knowledgeable about both the drink and food offerings. She made lots of suggestions and helped us to make our choices. For a drink, they made me a Mule - it didn't have as much ginger beer as a typical Mule but that was okay - it was very refreshing. We started with hummus as an appetizer for the table. They offer different toppings with it but we went with the basic that came with pita and a small side of tuom. They make fresh pita all night long so it was hot when it arrived. Their hummus is the most fluffy and creamy I've ever had. It was a taste delight! I chose the Shish Tawook for my entree. The chicken was grilled and smelled amazing! It came with a few vegetables, rice, and a small side of tuom. It was so good! Due to the freshness of all the food, I did not feel weighed down or listless after eating, which is a good sign of healthy prepared food. Upon collecting my order, I discovered that it was ordered via DoorDash, and I had indeed paid the extra fee. Furthermore, despite one of the dishes containing pine nuts, they attempted to charge me an additional fee for them. The menu explicitly states "hummus with lamb and pine nuts." I've been going to Shish Palace for years but I'm done. The Shish Kafta was so dry from being reheated. So it's upset with my experience today. In the past I always been happy and sometimes it's been hit or miss but today just made up my mind. I'm done.
