BBQ platter
Sapha H.

This is a takeout restaurant. Highly recommend calling ahead as it takes time to get your food. We are not from the area so we tend to stop here when we need to be in the metro Detroit area. We ordered the large BBQ platter which had a little bit of everything, including naan and raita. I do think it came with too much rice especially when compared to the amount of meat but everything tasted great, despite us driving 2hrs back home to eat it.

Kolachi Kichen has a more limited menu, but it packs a flavor punch! My coworker picked up lunch for us during a busy day. They were out of the item I had initially wanted, so I opted for an order of beef samosas and chicken seekh kabab. The smell was heavenly! I'm surprised my coworker made it back without diving in! The seekh kabab was full of meat, so flavorful and perfectly spiced. I asked for mild spice. The beef samosas were packed with beef and super crispy. They were a bit greasy but the flavor was strong and delicious. Those were a bit spicier. Even with a limited menu, I was really impressed with their cuisine. They also have a Ramadan menu for the holiday which I think is perfect. I will absolutely be returning!

Chicken Karahi with lots of oil. 4/5 star reviews of this restaurant are definitely fake

The restaurant opened late 11:10 am as opposed to their stated time of 11am. They mentioned they were short staffed because one of their employees quit. All in all the person behind the counter was very courteous. However, the food came out super slow. Ordered at 11:19am and received at 12:15pm. I ordered two Halwa Puris, Bun Kabab, and Chicken Karahi. The chicken karahi, halwa and the aloo ki tarkari were swimming in oil. The oil to tarkari ratio seemed 1:1 (see attached picture). The shami kabab in the bun kabab was undercooked (see picture) and didn't taste very good. The naan that came with Chicken Karahi was not from the restaurant tandoor but from a Desi super market (see picture). The Chicken Karahi also lacked in taste. Almost seemed like they had boiled chicken separately and then used tomato paste etc to create the dish. Not really how you make Karahi. If the owners of this restaurant are to present authentic Pakistani food, the quality needs to improve exponentially. The food needs to be made with love and without a ton of oil and super market naans are a definite no-no.

I originally came here thinking this was Afghan food because of a sign I saw up front. Turned out it used to be one, but has since changed ownership and serves Pakistani food. It's a family owned operation from what I gather, and the space is easy to miss since it's not visible off the main road. I figured I would try a basic beef kabob with rice and "salad". I put the word salad in quotations because what actually came with my order was a moderate amount of sliced red onions. I enjoy red onions with my meal, don't get me wrong, but when it says salad on the menu I expect an actual salad. Having said that the food was delicious and I found the lady who took my order to be quite friendly and helpful in navigating the menu. I do want to warn anyone who decides to order from here that it is wise to call ahead and place it. When I ordered in person it took a half hour to get my food and I was the only one there at the time. They make everything from scratch and take their time so this ain't quick in-n-out, but the results are worth it.

I drove over an hour in heavy rain to eat at this place. The staff was wonderful and attentive. Food took a while since it was so fresh. The only thing was issues with seating but i guess that's mainly due covid

Super delicious. Paratha roll with chicken. I ate half before I snapped the pic.

Delhi Hut Indian Cuisine - Vegetable Samosa

Delhi Hut Indian Cuisine

(31 reviews)

The other night, craving Indian food but uninspired by my usual rotation of local spots, I found…read moremyself thinking back to a place I hadn't visited in ages: Delhi Hut. What would I have. Ah, yes. Indo‑Chinese sounded perfect. I called in an order for Manchurian Chicken and Hakka Chicken Noodles, making a point to request the dishes hot, truly spicy. When I arrived, my order was ready right on time. Delhi Hut operates as takeout‑only, so I grabbed the bag and headed toward my truck. I thought, wow - This bad is heavy. Since, I was so hungry, I need to sample some food before I got home. Right? The portions were astonishing. I'd ordered two entrées out of habit--too many restaurants serve portions that barely qualify as a meal. They are more like an appetizer. Delhi Hut, however, delivered enough food for dinner that night and two generous lunches the following days. Both dishes were deeply flavorful, the kind of Indo‑Chinese comfort food that hits all the right notes. My lone critique: the spice level. Despite my request, the heat landed squarely in "white‑man hot" territory. Next time, I'll be explicit--Asian‑man hot, please. And yes, there will absolutely be a next time.

Oh man, this was rather disappointing. Perhaps it's because we ordered delivery, but my meal was…read moreinedible and ended up being tossed. My husband ordered CHICKEN CORN SOUP and CHICKEN MANCHURIAN, and I got to try both. His response when I asked how he liked him said, "fine." That's how I felt also. The soup tasted like canned cream corn with ground chicken. Which, I suppose, is basically the description so I cannot fault that. The chicken was cloyingly sweet with a bit of heat. I agree with the description. It was fine, but not memorable or something we'd order again. I ordered VEGETABLE SAMOSA and TANDOORI MIX GRILL. The Samosa were excellent - packed filled of veggies and accompanied with delicious mint and tamarind sauces. Probably some of the best Samosa 's I've had, if I'm being honest! My entree, however, was dismal and extremely disappointing. The description was "A combination of marinated chicken, seekh kabob, boti, and shrimp cooked in the tandoor." There was exactly 1 shrimp in the entire box and I could find zero Boti (I honestly forgot this was supposed to be in the box until just now when I re-read the description. Clearly it wasn't missed, but also why was it not included!?) Disappointing, but whatever. The chicken and kabob were dryyyyyyy and so overcooked. The meat tasted like it was cooked on the tandoor yesterday and microwaved before packaging up to serve. It was awful and inedible and I ended up tossing it out. The GARLIC NAAN was fine. Nothing noteworthy either way. We ordered the 4oz Indian Pickle, but it was omitted from the delivery. We were not refunded for the item. It was only $1 but still annoying. A+ for their packaging and A+ on their prices. D+ on the food. Sadly, we will not be repeat customers.

Pakwaan Fine Indian Cuisine - My friend enjoyed her Tikka Masala with white meat chicken. She was glad she got it at mild spice level.

I got there around 1:20 and they closed the buffet right at 2 - clearly eager to get out of there. The selection was good: I liked the fact that they had a standard green salad. I had some tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, butter paneer, and naan. I also tried bites of the aloo gobi and some vegan dish that I can't remember the name of but it was basically cauliflower and potatoes. I was a little disappointed in the dessert selection; I love gulab jamun and was hoping they would have it but all they had was a mango custard (it was good but I wanted something sweeter). All of the food was good bordering on great; my standards for Indian food are pretty high and this place met them. I thought the spice level was good - not horribly spicy but definitely had a kick to some dishes. Would have been nice to have a lamb dish but understand they have to cater to vegetarians too. The place itself is nice although the lighting was a little dark in my opinion. They were great about refilling water, clearing plates, and checking in. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Would return!

For those who are hesitant to try a restaurant that serves only vegetarian dishes, don't be. The flavors of Indian cuisine are amazing, and the food will change your mind. Even though the atmosphere is a step up from a cafeteria, the food is good. This is why I will keep coming back. I had the Manchurian Gobi(Cauliflower) and Szechuan noodles. The Manchurian Gobi was good, but the amount of cauliflower was very disappointing. The Szechuan noodles were excellent. I couldn't get enough. Both entrees that I had to eat were Manchurian. In America, we have Chinese/ American food. This is India's version of Chinese/Indian food, called Manchurian. Of course, they have an encyclopedic menu of vegetarian items that I intend to try. Will I be returning? I believe my review is self-evident.

We walked in thinking it was a café, but it turned out to be a proper vegetarian restaurant. We came in without reading any reviews, so our expectations were neutral I ordered the Chikku shake and Dahi puri. My friend ordered Pav bhaji, Rava onion dosa, and a cold coco shake. My chikku shake and dahi puri were decent, nothing outstanding, but enjoyable. The Pav bhaji was just okay, but the pav wasn't fresh, which took away from the dish. The Rava onion dosa was the biggest letdown, it looked appetizing, but the taste didn't match. Even the accompaniments didn't pair well, which was surprising. The cold coco shake tasted more like vanilla ice cream with a light sprinkle of cocoa powder rather than a rich chocolate drink. Overall, the place has a nice atmosphere and is well maintained, but the food didn't live up to how good it looked. With better execution and fresher ingredients, it could be much better. As of now, it was a hit-or-miss experience.
