Exceptional. Truly exceptional. I've enjoyed Indian food for many years and feel slightly judgmental when it comes to quality. This spot blew me away. Had vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and a mangolassi. ALL of it was basically perfect. The chicken tikka masala was the best I've ever had - largest portion I've also ever received as well. Easily feeds two people and I'll be going back again and again. Service was fantastic to say the least - very kind and well informed about the menu. The level of quality compared to the price was a steal compared to other places I've been. 5 stars hands down. We ordered food through Bite Squad. Absolutely terrible food and worst experience. In Biryani, there was no biryani spice, no salt, nothing. Mutton curry - worst, horrible, I have ever tasted. Poor quality rice. Don't prefer to write a bad review like this for a business as I am also a business owner. But I think that I should provide a honest review as well. In future if they provide good quality food, I will write a great review. But I doubt I will ever oder food from this place. Found this place during the pandemic and literally have dreams about their lamb vindaloo. Their takeout is amazing, but the experience going in is top notch. This is some of the best Indian food that my husband and I have had in Minnesota. He is from India and we both enjoy authentic Indian food. The chicken bryanni was very good and authentically spiced. We also had the chicken tika and samosa. It appears that they made the tamarind chutney themselves because it was very good and not the same as the ones at other places that are clearly from a bottle. We ordered our food at the "hot" spice level and it definitely had a good level of spice similar to what we make ourselves at home. If you are not used to spicy food or Indian food of the more authentic variety I would not go above "medium." The naan is very fluffy and nicely done as well. The decor is very clean and modern and it has a nice atmosphere and the service when we went was fantastic. Our new favorite place for Indian! read more

I'm not sure what happened between when they first opened and now, but our last few carry out and delivery orders have been pretty meh compared to the great first two meals we had from grove. Flavors seem to be a little blander and the only rice we receive is the plain basmati rice. Previously we received a delicious saffron rice. The naan also has been subpar. It's either been burned or soggy and chewy. The only thing that's stayed fairly on point has been the spice level. Hot is hot. So hopefully whatever has changed goes back to the way it was when Tandoor first opened, because right now, for me, it is no longer worth the cost. read more

I absolutely love Indian food, but this was not good at all. I hate giving bad reviews, but I can't let this go. Probably the worst Indian food I've ever had. Usually reviews on yelp are fairly accurate and this place has a lot of good reviews. Maybe the regular kitchen staff wasn't there? Maybe they had to cut corners due to Covid? Everyone has a bad day, maybe that's the case here? Somethings not right. We ordered 3 dishes: chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and a vegetable curry with some garlic naan. All three looked and tasted like they had the exact same sauce! The butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala tasted exactly the same. The chicken was pre-cooked, cut in cubes, dry and added to the sauce at a later time. None of them seemed made to order, just precooked stuff assembled later. The dishes were very oily too. The vegetable curry tasted strange. It tasted like tin tomatoes, it was cooked several days before or put in the fridge before it was cooled down--I don't know but it was not edible. The garlic naan bread was very undercooked. In all of my Indian food experiences, I have never encountered 1/2 cooked naan bread. How did that even make it out the door like that? We ordered over the phone (couldn't get the app to work) and picked up in the restaurant. The woman who rung up our order was not wearing a mask! read more

Tonight my husband and I stopped by Tandoor for dinner (Friday night). We were able to get seated right away and were initially very impressed with the interior. The menu had a nice selection of apps, vegetarian food, and meat dishes. There were the traditional curry type dishes as well as some options I've never heard of. The owner was walking around talking to all the tables and was able to give me some fantastic recommendations after taking the time to understand what type of dishes and spice levels we like. I was incredibly impressed with his ability to walk me through the menu and provide phenomenal recommendations. It's also worth noting that they have a great spice level. We both ordered our dishes "hot" and you could definitely feel the heat. They also offer between mild and extra hot depending on your preference. I definitely look forward to going back and can't wait to stop at lunch to try the buffet. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday night with some friends for dinner. Heard generally positive reviews from others about this place, so thought it was worth checking out. We ordered the chicken lollipop for appetizers, and then ordered the chicken tikka, chicken makhani (butter chicken), chicken tikka masala, and lamb rogan josh. Additionally we ordered a mix of regular and garlic naan. The food tasted pretty good, and the "Hot" spice level was in fact pretty hot. I've eaten at plenty of Indian and Pakistani restaurants before, and I thought this was definitely one of the better ones in Minnesota. The only reason why I'm giving it four stars and not five is because the service was pretty slow, despite it being a Saturday night. I understand that they've been open only for two months, but I would expect the service to be a bit faster. read more

Good food, but more expensive than most local Indian places, so while I'd go back, I'm not as excited to do so as before. The Tandoori Chicken was tasty and juicy, but $17 was a bit steep for what we got (and not even a full piece of Naan?). My wife and I did split it, so it's a decent amount of chicken. The butter chicken was OK. Nothing remarkable for what we paid. I've had better in the Twin Cities. The naan was fluffy, which was interesting but not very authentic. Not stretchy or chewy and overly salty. Did I mention salty? That was the dominant flavor. My kids who normally devour it... all had leftover naan. That never happens. Mango Lassi was good, but a bit blander than many I've had. The paper straw is not a great tool for a thick drink like a lassi. read more

This place is amazing! The service is outstanding, the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. We had the full on Tandoor experience. The food was delicious, the spice level was perfect. The portion sizes are beyond fair. Our server was very kind in guiding us on what dishes we may like to try without up selling anything. I've always had a passion for good Indian food. My friend and I were discussing what to have for lunch while watching cooking shows on PBS. One was making Indian food. I explored the Yelp app to see who had good Indian food in the area. The tandoor restaurant in Maple Grove had a four and a half star rating on Yelp, so we decided to try it. My companion and I had just a wonderful lunch. The food was extremely fresh and very tasty! The wait staff was friendly and courteous. The ambience of the restaurant is very clean and modern. I'm not sure how you can make Indian food can be so plain, but it was lacking spices. I am hooked. The Chicken 64 is full of flavor. My husband really liked it. We also ordered the Potato Chops which complimented the Chicken 64 well. Our main dishes were the Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Beef Malai. My favorite is the Tikka Masala. I had to have my cousin in Savage try this. Everything that could go wrong went wrong here. Starting from flies around the tables, cracked glass to stale food. There were so many flies that one fell into the beer and we had to continually use our hands to keep them away while eating with the other hand. Luckily we were not hurt by the cracked glass. Coming to ambience and customer service: The table was very small and we had to cramp the food we had ordered. The website mentions the restaurant closes at 10 but as soon as we entered at 825, it seemed like they were on a mission to get us out by 9. They even came to our table and told us that we had 10mins to leave at around 9. Now coming to food: We ordered Veg Korma and Panner Tikka Masala. Veg Korma had a different taste and it felt it was made a while back. We opted for HOT/SPICY Panner Tikka Masala. It was nowhere near hot and there was a weird taste coming from that. It was more like sweet rather than Hot. The only thing good was the beer BUT the fly spoilt it as well... The experience was pathetic and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Ordered takeout and it was very good; albeit, slightly (too) expensive. Two dinners and two naans for about $70. Naans were both great (cheese and onion). I've never had onion naan and it was good. Briyani was missing something--maybe it was just dry but flavor was good. Tandoor mix came with two different chicken, shrimp and salmon. I ordered spicy and that was spot on/great. Salmon was dry, too well done but the others were excellent, moist, tasty. Removing one star for the cost.
