LONG overdue! I thought I've written one for this amazing vendor already. We were extremely lucky to have Rev. Rick as our officiant for our events. Like many others, our 2020 wedding was postponed to 2021. Rev. Rick ended up officiating our 2020 virtual elopement and 2021 in-person wedding. And we wouldn't have had it any other way. Rev. Rick is so kind and warm and has such a way with words. The process to create our script was so smooth and stress-free. He made sure our ceremonies perfectly reflected our love (he succeeded!). On our in-person wedding day, he made time to come say hello to us in addition to doing a walkthrough on his own re: ceremony rituals we were doing (cord, veil, candles). It was incredibly comforting that he went out of his way and looked for us before the ceremony. As for the ceremonies, people have told us that our ceremonies breezed through because of how they were hanging onto his every word. A rare compliment I hear for weddings! Our special days would not have been the same without Rev. Rick. Highly highly recommend.

Amy Habicht was our officiant and we couldn't be more happy with her. I was mainly drawn to her because she was spiritual and I am super spiritual as well. On our wedding day Amy was so amazing! After meeting my now husband at the altar and realizing all eyes are on us I was extremely nervous but she helped calm my nerves. During our ceremony she did the blessing of hands and I thought it was so beautiful and it almost made my husband cry. Amy was so sweet and great to work with on our special day. We highly recommend Amy for anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding day! Raquel + Jordan Hayes

Where do I even begin? Let me start by saying I would give the TWE team 10/5 stars if that was a thing. Actually, we will just make it a thing for them! And... BOOK THE TANS! Honestly, it was the best choice we could have made and they are worth every penny. Do not hesitate..trust me, you won't regret it! Our entire experience with TWE from start to finish was seamless. Absolutely stellar communication, organization, planning, and expertise. We booked TWE a year and a half before our summer 2020 wedding date. In the spring of 2020, the COVID 19 pandemic hit and the wedding industry and couples were in crisis mode. We struggled with what to do for our wedding, but Jennifer and her team were there every step of the way. Jennifer Tan is THE person you want by your side when planning a wedding in a pandemic. We ended up having an intimate micro wedding on our original date, and could not be happier with how it turned out. No matter how you decide to navigate your event during the pandemic, TWE will make it work and it will be incredible. In the midst of this, we changed locations 2 weeks before the wedding and had some vendor changes. The Tans took this on full speed ahead, and everything went off without a hitch. In this extremely stressful time, we never lost confidence that the TWE team could make it happen. As the bride, I handled much of the planning and communication with Jennifer. Jennifer Tan is a bride's best friend through this whole process and on your big day! The entire time I felt like I was her only bride she was working with (which I'm sure she had many). That is just how attentive and caring she was. I appreciated her calm energy & can-do attitude through it all. We needed that! Jennifer and Rick are not only talented and extremely professional, but also just kind, incredible people. These are the people you want by your side planning your special event. We cannot recommend Jennifer, Rick, and their team enough! I can't imagine planning an event without them. Allison & Ryan

The TWE team are top notch and I highly recommend them! From start to finish, the team of Rick and Jennifer have guided us and have given us sound and practical advice on what we should be preparing and what what are our next steps. Needless to say, our wedding and reception was done masterfully, and no problems whatsoever. Rick and Jennifer truly made the day stress free, so that me and my wife could focus on OUR wedding. Thank you so much and more power! We could not have done it without you guys!!!

Had the pleasure of being married by Rev. Rick Tan last Oct. 15th, 2021. As a bride, one of the important things for me when choosing a vendor is finding someone that fits me and my husband's personalities. Someone that we will be comfortable with. Rev. Tan is very professional and was definitely the perfect match for us. The ceremony was beautifully handled And all our families had nothing but good things to say about how good Rev. Tan was. Highly recommend!

We are so happy that we found Tan Weddings & Events through our venue. We had Reverend Rick Tan as our officiant and we could not have been happier. We met with Reverend Rick about 4 weeks before the big day and he really took the time to get to know us as a couple and make sure he knew what we were looking for. Reverend Rick was professional and so eloquent during the ceremony...we had so many people paying us compliments on the officiant we chose. All those compliments go to Reverent Rick! On a side note, Reverend Rick found a sage green tie to go with our garden themed wedding. The attention to detail is amazing.

I recently attended my friend's wedding and was amazed to see a reverend playing a harp. How cool is that?!?! I've attended weddings before, but never with a harp. The harp melody from Reverend Tan created a serene and memorable mood. Reverend Tan of course also never missed a beat with the ceremony wordings. The bride and groom was excited and happy they went with Reverend Tan. I wish I had him at my wedding... so many years ago!

Luckily, we discovered Ryan's page about a month and a half out from our wedding! Ryan's officiating services are unbeatable. From the moment we met him, we were relieved that we had someone young, well spoken and very professional. We were asked a series of questions to get to know us, but our conversation flowed so naturally that the questions just answered themselves through our normal discourse. We had many laughs, tears of emotion, collaborative moments, emotional moments, therapeutic moments, you name it! Our meetings felt comforting and genuine and I 100% guarantee that we could not have had that experience with another person. Ryan met with us very often prior to our wedding to make sure that the final script was right. He played well into our fun and joyful moments as well as our romantic side. Great and friendly sense of humor and a neutral perspective. My wife's side is Buddhist, my side is Catholic but his speech respected both sides without issue. He got to know us very well and it reflected in his speech. Our wedding was really small and intimate with only our immediate family present, but somehow it felt as if Ryan were one of us. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Highly recommend Ryan!! Thanks.

After our meeting, she drafted a comprehensive Google document to describe the sequence of the ceremony as well as what she plans on saying for each segment, so there is no surprise to the couple on the day of the wedding. We were able to make edits in real time and she would make the adjustments necessary so that we were satisfied with her work. That being said, on our wedding day, the ceremony did not feel scripted at all -- quite the opposite actually! The way Jinnae delivers her words is very authentic and spiritual, and she does so in such a calming manner, all the while reading the audience and knowing when to squeeze in a bit of humor should the atmosphere call for it. We received positive comments from our guests saying how much they loved our officiant's demeanor, and how meditative they felt during the entire ceremony. Our photographer also complimented Jinnae's timing: he said that the ceremony was just the perfect duration. Not too long and not too short. My family is Filipino, and my parents made a request to incorporate "Mano Po" and the cord and veil traditions into our ceremony, which were previously outside of Jinnae's experience. But she spent a considerable amount of her own time to learn about our culture so that she can seamlessly add these traditions into our ceremony, which we greatly appreciated. After our wedding day, she mailed our marriage license to the respective office, and even provided me with advice on how to deal with the office's slow processing times. You will not be disappointed in choosing Jinnae as your officiant. She goes above and beyond, and even provides inspiration for wedding vows, readings, special ceremony additions, etc. If you want a hassle-free wedding ceremony, look no further than Your Ceremony with Spirit!

1 star My husband…read moreand I had a small, casual wedding back in 2022-- a handful of family, one photographer, and us, in the woods. We deliberately chose not to be bridezilla/groomzilla about any of it. That wasn't because the details don't matter -- they clearly matter enormously to a lot of couples, and for good reason -- it was just how we chose to approach our particular day. And thank goodness for that, because it turns out even a low-key wedding wasn't low-stakes enough to get through him unscathed. He arrived 40 minutes late, despite being emailed explicit directions -- location, cross streets, confirmed by him in writing hours earlier. We paid our photographer extra out of pocket to cover the lost time. Mid-conversation about how pretty the trees were, he segued into officiating without telling us he'd started -- we found out afterward that our wedding video is incomplete because he never signaled we were live. My father, my only living parent, and who would have been my only guest at our wedding, was too sick to attend and was counting on that video to see the ceremony. He didn't get to see all of it. We wrote our own vows in advance, and he showed us that he'd pasted them into his nice-looking book..... and then he read none of them, later explaining he'd left the notebook on a rock behind him -- then pronounced us married anyway. He also offers handfasting on his site, with several named knot options; we corresponded with him in detail about which one we wanted. When it came to it he seemed to not really understand what to do with our handfasting cords- and kind of laid it over our hands, and wrapped it once or twice, and declared it good. There was no knot tied in the "tying the knot" bit. For some couples, and for some belief systems, that knot is the actual marriage act, not a nice extra -- so this isn't a small thing to skip. Then there was the paperwork, which was explicitly part of his service. Our marriage certificate went to the wrong county, delaying our certified copy by two weeks and jeopardizing my window to get on my husband's health insurance -- a real cost, not a hypothetical one. When we raised it, he told us we must have submitted it ourselves, despite us handing him a pre-addressed envelope for the correct county. For his version to be true, he'd have had to actively create a different envelope himself. He never once considered the possibility that any part of this was on him. We've decided as a couple to laugh at the absurdity of the incompetence of our "official" who brags so much about himself on his website, and we celebrate having a photographer who took our handfasting cords after the ceremony, looked us in the eyes and said "We're gonna fix this", and took us to a beautiful meadow, where she stood at the edge of the meadow to give us privacy while still getting pictures of us reading our vows to each other. The knot was truly tied, physically and emotionally, and we felt respected by the person celebrating with us. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful parts of our wedding, but it wasn't part of the official recorded ceremony. We're genuinely fine, and rolling our eyes about it now... But if you're a couple who's spent months or years planning a ceremony that means everything to you, I don't think "roll with it" would be an option, and I'd hate for anyone to find that out the hard way. Proceed with real caution.

First, he was a complete no-show at the rehearsal the day before. When the actual ceremony began, his first move was to walk away from the microphone and stand awkwardly in front of the bride and groom--something I have never seen an officiant do. Worse, he was entirely unprepared and had absolutely nothing to say. He completely ignored the written script and the specific vows the couple had provided to him well in advance. Instead of guiding them, he skipped the traditional exchanges entirely--he never even prompted them with the standard, "I, [Name], take thee, [Name], to be my wedded..." or any variation of the "I dos." Instead, he put them on the spot, forcing them to come up with impromptu vows in front of everyone. While they stumbled initially, their heartfelt, off-the-cuff words ended up being the only redeeming and wonderful part of the ceremony. To make matters worse, I paid him $400, which is an obscenely high rate for someone who didn't even attend the rehearsal and spent less than an hour total on the job. In fact, he was at the wedding for only about 30 minutes total. That brief half-hour even included the signing of the marriage license, which he absurdly incorporated as part of the ceremony itself. I have never seen that done before, and I strongly suspect that because he is a fraud who does not actually know how to officiate weddings, he wanted to use the signing as "ceremony filler." We did not let him and made the signing directly after the ceremony but he was extremely impatient and wanted to leave the venue as soon as possible. Do not hire this man. Avoid him and his company, "Forever Inspired" with web at that name dot net. at ALL costs. He is absolutely worthless as an officiant and ruined what should have been a beautiful, prepared ceremony. The rest of the wedding was great and we are glad he had no hand in any of the festivities afterward. Mitch Darnell is a con-man and a fraud! Do not give this man any of your money.
