If you're looking for someone who can handle wedding planning like a Zen master juggling flaming torches, hire Mae. From the very first moment we met with her, we were both enchanted by the charm of her beautifully peaceful calm demeanor. She immediately made us feel at ease and confident that we were in the best possible hands. From the very beginning, she took our slightly unusual requests (minimal decor, natural beauty, somehow on the beach and in the forest at the same time) and found us a venue so perfect it still feels like a dream. We didn't just get nice views, we got a place where the ocean and the trees literally met. Mae handled everything: vendor coordination, scheduling, payments, deposits, communication, all without us having to lift more than an occasional pen. She kept our budget on point and never tried to push extras we didn't want, but she also spoke up when a choice might backfire. That honesty saved us from more than a few bad calls. The standout moment for us was right before the wedding when our dog boarding caretaker threatened to have our puppy picked up for "aggression" (spoiler: the dog was just being a puppy). Without missing a beat, Mae stepped in, de-escalated the whole thing, and made sure our furry family member was safe and cared for, all while keeping wedding prep running smoothly. That kind of problem-solving under pressure is priceless. Beyond her skillset, Mae is just a genuinely beautiful person, calm, sweet, warm, loving, and somehow able to keep us calm during what could have been a very stressful process. Thanks to her, our wedding wasn't just organized, it was the absolute best day of our lives. We feel forever attached to her and can't imagine our wedding without her. If she's available for your date, book her. You'll be grateful you did. read more

Mae was fantastic to work with and we've since recommended Beyond Smitten to our friends! She's incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and is a great communicator. We booked the wedding day management package and were very happy with the amount of check-ins and guidance that Mae offered in the lead-up to our wedding. Mae and her team took charge of all the coordination, vendor management, etc. on the wedding day, which made it possible for me and my husband to relax and enjoy every minute! I've still been floating from our beautiful wedding day at Park Winters, but I really wanted to leave this review to recommend Mae at Beyond Smitten Events for any future brides! My husband and I decided to go with the "Month-of-Coordination" package since our wedding was going to be smaller and more intimate with a guest count in the 40s and since I am that Type A bride who plans way too much for her own good. Although I had thought we had most of the work done on our own, we quickly realized during our check-in meetings the real value of having a professional coordinator on our team. Mae was so easy to work with, calm, gentle, and most importantly, she was fully supportive and made us feel comfortable with our own visions and ideas for a wedding that did not fit the "traditional" template of a wedding. We really appreciated her responsiveness via email and text, her communication with our vendors and venue, and for her incredible flexibility on our wedding day despite the unpredictable on-and-off rain. She and her assistant still managed to keep everything running smoothly so that we didn't have to worry about anything, and our wedding day still turned out SO beautiful and special! I can't thank her and her assistant enough. I highly recommend Beyond Smitten Events for any couples needing a wedding planner/coordinator for their wedding in the future! read more

I'm so very thankful that my husband and I found & booked Mae as our wedding planner! She is super sweet, friendly, considerate, organized, professional (she always arrived early), and incredibly thorough (all qualities that I genuinely admire in a person)! I found her browsing on Yelp, The Knot, and another wedding website that I can't think of at the moment. As a busy medical student, I knew I needed help planning my dream wedding (especially since my now husband was away for business at the very beginning of the planning process). I reached out to Mae and mentioned my busy schedule, which she understood and didn't think my delayed emails were me blowing her off. I also explained the situation with my fiancé (now husband), so she was able to accommodate us and meet with us when he returned. Thankfully she was available for our initial wedding date of October 3, 2020. We hired Mae for partial wedding planning services, since we already booked our venue by the time we met with her. She is an excellent resource for other wedding vendors (such a florists, photographers, videographers, etc...) within our budget! She was also able to save us some money for our save the date magnets and invitations. Mae also gave us some much needed guidance throughout the wedding planning process. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic altered our wedding plans. Mae was in touch with us throughout the changes and even accommodated us when we pushed back our larger wedding celebration to May 2021. That being said, Mae patiently worked with us for about a year and a half (which is quite a long time). The day of our big wedding was exactly how I envisioned it! The decorations and the set up was absolutely beautiful! Mae took care a lot of the questions the vendors had, so my husband and I could enjoy our special day. Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with Mae's services! She is a very knowledgeable, thorough, professional, organized, and friendly wedding coordinator! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking her if you are in need of a wedding planner! read more

We were introduced to Beyond Smitten Events through our vendor, Park Winters. After our first call with Mae, we immediately knew it was a match! She exudes accountability, kindness, and enthusiastic professionalism. Although she and her team would reach out to us a couple of months before our big day to finalize wedding details, she assured us that we could always contact her with any questions (which was different from other coordinators we interviewed). On our wedding day, we had the IMMENSE pleasure of having Cheyanne be our month-of coordinator. During the weeks leading up to our wedding, she was very responsive via email, communicated with all our vendors to tie up loose ends, and stayed organized through all the small details and our ever-changing wedding day schedule. Because of Cheyanne's calmness and attentiveness, we thoroughly enjoyed and were fully present on our wedding day. She always assured us that she was here to help us and we could indeed depend on her. Look no further and book Beyond Smitten - you won't regret it! We're currently in our post-wedding blues, and much of that is because we miss Cheyanne and Mae! read more

Beyond Smitten Events - Party & Event Planning Near Me

Mae is ridiculously competent, and she brings the competence in a low key package of sweet charm and listening well. I am a Mother of the Bride with significant event planning experience and I can be a bit of a nudge. I also was the "third party" to the bride and groom's bodacious grasp of things, so there was a potential triangle dynamic to this situation. Oh my goodness. Mae navigated this with such grace and elegance. She gave great advice. She can deal at the strategic/vision level and also rolls up her sleeves to execute details. Mae balances the big picture with great suggestions borne of experience. I would do this again in a heartbeat with Mae. The only thing I would do differently next time is get out of the way and let her take care of me even more. read more

Mae's day-of coordination services were exactly what we were looking for! She's very thorough, extremely easy to get in touch with, and she has an excellent crew of assistants as well. We really wanted help with vendor coordination, and on the day of our wedding, we were so pleased with how little we had to worry about! We hired their month of coordinator services and they made what was supposed to be the most chaotic last 3 months of wedding planning an absolute breeze! Mae Mallon was our wedding coordinator for our wedding on October 6, 2018. My husband and I are truly blessed to have crossed paths with Mae! We have nothing but amazing things to say about her! She assisted us with partial planning for a year and a half. From the second we met Mae, we felt an instant connection, and we just knew she was the one!! To say she went above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we dreamed of is truly an understatement. Mae is professional, punctual, and organized! She is also super sweet! She is great at what she does and always has a solution to every situation. Mae is the BEST! We honestly couldn't have made it through the wedding day without Mae and her team. Here's where Mae shined: - Reliability. Mae was on top of her game and executed our planning details into the most gorgeous set up. She was calm, collected, and worked with what we wanted with ease. She established trust so easily that on the wedding day I had no worries about any details. - Enthusiasm. When I felt buried under details and stressed Mae was the shining source of energy we needed. We didn't feel like another client in a spreadsheet, she was authentic. - Execution. I had multiple guests come up to me and tell me the timing of the wedding was amazing. They appreciated the flow and never felt rushed or stuck. All our vendors (and their timelines) were seamlessly managed, there weren't any hiccups. That was all Mae!! If you're considering a wedding planner or coordinator I cannot recommend Beyond Smitten Events enough. Do yourself the favor and book them! read more

You can tell Mae loves what she does and is a pro. For anyone who may be on the fence about whether you should invest in a coordinator for your wedding - the answer is Yes! It is 100% worth it. We hired Mae for 'month-of coordination' which really began over three months out. Mae's services were perfect for the level of planning we needed. She took the lead role coordinating our church ceremony and hotel reception, each of which had their own event teams. She was also very familiar with working with the Cathedral and incorporating elements of a traditional Filipino wedding ceremony. This was important to us and her knowledge was incredibly helpful. Her guidance and vendor recommendations were spot on without ever making us feel pressured to do anything other than what we had envisioned. In the month before the wedding she takes over as the point of contact for all vendors. This is when it gets really real! After all the work of planning, it was such a relief to have her managing all those last minute details and synching up timelines to get everyone on the same page. Then, on the actual wedding day, she was there receiving deliveries, handling set-up, and making sure the day flowed according to schedule. Let yourself, your family, and your wedding party enjoy hanging out and getting ready with you on the big day - not stressing about any of that stuff. Above all, Mae is the sweetest soul who just understood our vibe. Her calm demeanor put us at ease on the most hectic day of our lives, and she feels like another member of the family now :) M + M 08-31-2019 read more

Mae is an absolute gem to work with. We hired her before the start of the pandemic for month of planning but it turned into a 1.5 year relationship neither of us expected! Mae went above and beyond with her role as our coordinator and ensured we felt comfortable through every aspect of the planning process. When it came down to the wire, she made sure all the vendors were informed and triple checked everything to ensure our day was perfect. And perfect it was! Every part of the day went smoothly. We are so thankful and lucky to have had Mae Mallon as our wedding coordinator for our wedding last June. From beginning to end, she was a consummate professional and took very good care us from ensuring clear communication and organizing details to providing great advice and insight. She was responsive and engaging through all our talks and meetings. With her event management background, Mae is also knowledgeable and saavy with vendors, venues and the wedding industry itself. We even chose the officiant she recommended as he was a perfect for for us. And on top of all that, she was such a delight to work with all the way through, always smiling and full of positivity. On our wedding weekend, she was a life saver. She helped orchestrate our rehearsal, ceremony and reception, which was a LOT of work but she handled everything with poise and precision. She made everything seem smooth and seamless by executing the well-communicated timeline and ensuring all items and people were ready and in their places. Everyone in our wedding party, family and guests were so impressed by her and had nothing but praises on how great and helpful she was. Again, we feel so lucky to have had Mae a part of our special day and we hope to watch her flourish with many more weddings and events to come. This review is for Mae Mallon, a wedding and event coordinator. I am a DJ (Spinheads) who has received many 5 star reviews and now it's my turn to review a vendor who is outstanding in her field. I recently worked a wedding with Mae in San Francisco (Fairmont Hotel). She coordinated a multi faceted wedding that included three separate locations for the ceremony, dinner and dancing. Mae was the liaison between the bride/wedding party, family, hotel staff, photographer and myself. She had everyone on the same page, ready and on time all while maintaining a friendly and personable demeanor. Mae also coordinated all the events during the reception including speeches, cake cutting and first dance with great communication and teamwork. I highly recommend Mae and look forward to the opportunity to work with her again. Peter Haley read more

The stars aligned when I met Mae at a bridal show! As the case with most brides, I had never been married before and had no idea where to even begin with so many tasks. Mae was always available, full of insight and suggestions. She is organized and passionate about her job-she made the entire process so easy! She picked up the reigns and began handling communication between all of my vendors 1-2 weeks prior to the wedding. I never knew how imperative that could be! There are so many last minute changes and forgotten details (no matter how hard you try to avoid it) and it was amazing to know that they were all taken care of and communicated to EVERYONE (photographer, florist, DJ, bakery...)! She create a timeline that merged my schedule with all of my vendors and sent out an updated version to everyone each time something changed. On my wedding day, I was able to relax and enjoy every second with my bridesmaids, parents, and then my new husband and all of our friends and family. I heard about Mae through a very close friend of mine. I am a very low budget big dreams type, and I thought I could do everything on my own. But, I soon became overwhelmed by the amount of detail that goes into a wedding that I got stuck in the little things and forgetting the big picture, marrying the love of my life. As soon as I talked to Mae I knew that I could trust her because she alleviated all of my stress and let me just enjoy this whole process. Mae knew my budget and she found my DJ, my hairstylist and make up artist. She was the point of contact for all of my vendors, family and friends. Mae organized meeting times, phone calls and managed the timeline. She did it all, all I had to do was sit back and relax.. get my hair done.. look beautiful and say "I do." Mae was very calm the entire time, dressed professionally, and made sure that everyone.. family .. friends .. vendors knew where to be and at what time. What a dream... I'm definitely going to recommend her! She is worth it guys. P.S. She does not have a judging bone in her body. Anything you want she would understand, anytime you call and freak the hell out over unseen costs she will calm you down and talk to your vendors to remedy the situation. I really got lucky finding her! read more

At the beginning of my wedding planning process, I didn't even know that a day-of-wedding-coordinator existed, let alone what all they did. I thought I could delegate family members to be point persons for the day, and the behind the scene contact with vendors. As our date came closer, I had no idea how many details and decisions there were to be made planning a wedding. Why would I, right? I had never been married before. Mae ended up being the first vendor I hired (referred to me by a family friend), because I realized early on that our wedding day would be the one time all our family and friends would be together to help celebrate us, and I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted our family and friends to enjoy this day also and not be delegates of chaos. I learned that although I hired Mae as our day-of-coordinator, her services began months before the wedding. She maintained consistent contact with us and with our vendors, making sure that everyone was on the same page and timeline. Mae is extremely organized and detail oriented with spread sheets and deadlines so nothing was forgotten or last minute. Looking back, hiring Mae was the smartest decision I made. There is no price tag for a perfect wedding day. We received so many complements from our family and friends, "Everyone's been to weddings before, but not like yours!" We kept hearing this. It was a beautiful day, beyond a great party that ran smooth and appeared effortless-thanks to Mae. I would hire Mae a hundred times over again, and have recommended her to all my girlfriends with upcoming wedding dates. I am forever grateful to her, Thanks Mae!!! read more

We had such a wonderful time at our wedding last weekend! And we owe so much of it to our fantastic day-of coordinator to Mae with Beyond Smitten Events! My husband and I were not very familiar with how weddings are put together and we heard how stressful it can be if you are running your own wedding, so we searched for the perfect coordinator for our day. We interviewed a few different ones before locating Mae. Mae offered a structure that really helped us plan everything out. She reminded us of the elements of a wedding and a reception and allowed us to pass on our planning details as we set them. She provided a fantastic day-of matrix that just needed to be filled out and given to her. We met with Mae one time in the beginning and kept email and phone contact up until a week before the wedding when we met at the site to go over the details in person. The entire time she was very low pressure, even when it took us forever to get certain details completed. On the big day, she was a huge support. We were able to relax and have fun and focus on the flurry of love that was all around us without worrying about how things were progressing. We did have some big timing mishaps that threw my tight schedule off (no fault of Mae's), but there were no feelings of alarm for this bride. Mae very easily was able to gather the intel she needed to make smooth transitions and snap decisions. And she stayed to help clean up. Very classy! read more
