Takoyaki
Steven P.

Surprisingly, we grabbed a table for 3 right away after OU's first home game. The restaurant was packed by the time we left. We started with the chicken wings - unfortunately, they were undercooked. Skin was soft and the meat was undercooked - our server had them removed from the bill. However I hope they can improve the cooking as they could be really good. Our orders included the chasu-don fried rice, garlic ramen, and tonkatsu ramen... plus an order of takoyaki. The rice is insanely delicious! Comes in a cast iron skillet, so you get some crispy bits - just a total flavor bomb. My garlic ramen was very good - the broth is a treat on its own. Add the perfectly cooked egg and other goodies, and it's a party in a bowl, too. My wife loves her tonkatsu ramen, which she adds extra spice. Service was good, and I would give it 5 stars, but the chicken wings were a huge disappointment. We will be back for sure - and maybe the wings will be crispy and cooked!

They emailed us about the event, and we purchased the tickets online.

Last year we did the event with Sakura Ramen at the Edmond location and we loved it. So this year when we got the email about this event, we signed up for it immediately. Once you sign up you get the event ticket through email and we then save it to your phone. On the day of the event, we arrived and there was a line outside the door. Once we got online, this guy manning the door comes over to check on your ticket and then gave us another event ticket to get in the door. We didn't wait that long, it was maybe 10 mins, which wasn't too bad. Inside was packed and busy. Once seated they show us the menu for the event. Our tickets already paid for 2 ramen so we told our servers we wanted the Itadaki Tonkatsu and the Itadaki Miso ramens, and then added the DX Topping on one. In just 2-3 minutes, they set the bowl of Miso ramen at our table. My husband tried it and said it was not hot. I tried it and indeed it was lukewarm. We told our server and they took it away. We waited for a little over 5 mins and they brought the Tonkatsu, which was hot and very good. The extra toppings is worth the extra money. The soft-boiled egg was perfection. My husband and I were sharing the one ramen we had so far. Another 5 mins and the server came by and asked if this one was hotter, and we were like we never got the Miso one yet. So she went to check. Maybe 2 mins later, they finally came with the Miso ramen. This time it was piping hot and delicious. My husband loved and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we checked out we asked why the first Miso ramen was lukewarm, wondering what happened. It can't be a coincidence that it was "ready" so in advance in comparison to the other bowl? The server shrugged and didn't know, said it came straight from the pot. Really? Could've used some honesty here. Overall, we enjoyed the food. Will probably still sign up for the next event if there is another one. I liked the Sakura Ramen event better, but my husband liked this one as their soup base was thicker. It's a personal preference I guess.

Stopped by here to meet our son near OU for lunch. Enjoyed the potstickers, the matcha mojito, and the ninniku tonkotsu ramen with a chili bomb. Nice flavors, Coll ambience, and friendly staff.

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Got Takoyaki for an appetizer. It came with 5 balls. One of better ones I've tried. It came nice and hot. Be careful to not just eat the whole thing in one bite or you may burn yourself. Breading was light and there was enough octopus instead. Maybe could use a bit more seasoning, but was pleasantly surprised. Coming from the DC area, I really wasn't expecting much. Tonkotsu ramen was rich. Wished it has more meat and toppings. But noodles were cooked perfectly and the egg was soft boiled and light in seasoning. Came away with a full belly. Had the green tea mochi ice cream too. It's a bit expensive $2.50 for one mochi but you can tell it's homemade and it tasted great. Thought the pricing was mostly appropriate, ramen was priced well. Would have liked the server to check on us a little more. But otherwise a pleasant experience.

Nice Norman location of Tamashii that had a few new menu items. The egg fried ice is always great. The ramen I got had a tad bit more cabbage but was overall flavorful. The green melon soda drink was excellent. Great service and large wooden ancient Japanese interior with many seats/tables, anime playing on TVs all around and cool Japanese decorations. This Norman location also has an area that sells snacks and drinks and toys. Some cool plastic models from popular anime also are viewable. Overall recommended!

Our second visit was even better than the first! We were greeted kindly and seated quickly. Currently my son's most favorite and requested spot for dinner. SO GOOD.

First time trying out this location in Norman. It didn't disappoint! We had a great server (Sebastian) and he gave some wonderful recommendations. We arrived much later (8PM) for dinner than I normally would and the place was crowded & loud. We waited ~10 minutes before we were seated. But our daughter decided this is where we were going to eat so who am I to argue! The Edamame will be a pass, less than impressed! Maybe if I get the spicy version but the one my wife chose, not so much! I think the Garlic Fried Rice w/Karaage Chicken was the hit of the night! Great flavors - my wife's choice. I selected the Spicy Miso Ramen and it was great! My daughter chose the Tonkotsu Ramen she says it's her favorite! Overall great meal but lucky for me there's a Tamashii located in Edmond so it's on my list to visit!

The staff was originally going to seat me in a table in the center of the room but they readily accommodated my request to sit at a booth instead. Wait staff was friendly. The food itself wasn't bad but it was just a tad bit too rich and too fatty in taste (not a bad thing for some it just was a bit heavy for me today)

We came here while visiting OKC and were not disappointed! Our waitress was wonderful and very helpful because we weren't sure what to order. We ended up ordering a ramen bowl and a rice bowl to share and both were delicious. We also got the octopus balls as an appetizer and it was good. It's a very nice restaurant and we ate out in the front porch area because it was such a nice day. So glad we did! Wish we lived close enough to go again.

Ninniku (Garlic) Tonkotsu Ramen
Heather T.

Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Our waitress asked if it was our first visit (it was), and then talked us through the menu, how to order and what her recommendations were. We got the Ninniku Tonkotsu Ramen (heavy on the garlic). It was AMAZING!! Great for a casual lunch or date night too. We will definitely be back!

The food and environment are great, I get the curry dish and swap out pork for chicken every time. The reason for my 2 stars is the prices. I don't mind paying 15-20 a dish, but 25 for chicken and rice?? The "secret" menu item, T-Rex, which is their fried rice with chicken and toppings added, is ridiculously priced and should be better explained. Our host asked my husband what meat he wanted like it was included with the meal instead of saying "hey this is extra." You guys... $9.95 for fried rice + $16.50 for added meat and some special sauces??? Suggestion: If you're going to charge for two meals then make it the size of 2 meals or at least let your guests know beforehand what they're in for. It's delicious but not that delicious.

The hanging wish cards, the wood accents, the little booth seating areas, even the lighting all work together. It is one of those places where you catch yourself looking around instead of just staring at your phone while you wait for food. Now the important part. The ramen. This was not some sad, watered down airport food court attempt at ramen. The broth was rich without being overwhelming, the noodles had the right bite, and everything in the bowl actually tasted like it belonged there. The pork was tender, the egg was perfect, and yes, I am now the kind of person who notices if an egg is done right. Even the little details were on point. Clean presentation, good portion sizes, and everything came out hot and fast without feeling rushed. The drinks were solid too, and I may or may not have been tempted to order a second round just to justify sitting there longer. Service was friendly and efficient, we had a fun time with our server. Nothing worse than great food and a weird vibe. Not the case here. If you are someone who thinks ramen is just instant noodles with better marketing, go here and let that belief die. I will absolutely be back. Probably sooner than I should be.

The ramen was not good or tasty to us, so we didn't order it again this time. My notes for last time was that the ramen was flavorless, and watery. This time, today, we ordered the Honeycomb Platter, Takoyaki, Chicken Wings (KBBQ), Pan-Fried Gyoza, and the Smashed Cucumber. Honeycomb Platter 10/10 - always good. Good flavor variety. My favorite is the shrimp. My girlfriends favorite is also the shrimp. Smashed Cucumber 7/10 - was not smashed like in photo. That's OK. Sliced cucumber with a chili vinaigrette. Fresh but a bit spicy. Takoyaki 5/10 - not the best we've had but we are picky. Good for people who are trying Takoyaki for the first time. Nice filling but lame flavor. Chicken Wings (KBBQ) 5/10 - 6 wings, half flats half drum. Tasty, but wing quality is just OK. Tangy KBBQ flavor. Medium crispness. Pan-Fried Gyoza 8/10 - yummy ! Not crispy on bottom but it was still pretty good. Pork inside is juicy and tender. Very cool presentation. We liked the variety of things we ordered this time, but could've done without the wings and extra Takoyaki, as the honeycomb platter comes with 2 balls. We sat upstairs in the honeycomb booths this time. Felt private enough but the acoustics made me feel like everyone could hear everything. Bright and quiet enough for a midday lunch today. Will probs be back another time for some other apps. Thanks

My husband and I were very impressed by the interior decorations, especially with the auto rikshaws. The service was incredible. Our server was so sweet and did her due diligence to keep checking on us at appropriate times as to not interrupt our meal. She asked if we wanted refills of our drinks to-go before we left and also didn't forget to ask us if we wanted dessert at the end of our meal. This is the food we ordered: Food--- for all the noodles and curry we each asked for Spicy Level 3 and it was perfect, but we probably could have ordered spicier! *Spring Rolls* This came with a sweet duck sauce. My husband devoured them! *Tom Yum Soup w/ Shrimp* my husband ordered this soup and it was so flavorful, and the perfect amount of spicy. Amazing tasting broth with delicious vegetables and shrimp *Pad See-Ew w/ Beef* very flavorful and they didn't skimp on the meat. The vegetables were delicious and the noodles were cooked just right. This was a very enjoyable dish! *Sushi, Sashimi, and Curry* I thought this was the perfect combo box with everything I love! It was enough food for myself - came with a California roll, 3 pieces of Nigiri, and 6 pieces of Sashimi (2 of each tuna, salmon, and yellowtail); and I chose the red curry chicken with steamed rice. Everything was so delicious! I loved the red curry and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sushi and sashimi. Everything was great. I would definitely order again. I got all of this for $20! We want to make reservations next time to sit in the auto rikshaws to get the full experience of this restaurant. We love Thai Delight and will definitely be back again!
