I had a serious craving for sushi, so I decided to try somewhere new. The reviews for this place seem to be rather inconsistent, but I figured I would give it a try. Since everything is delivery/carryout, I couldn't really measure the popularity based on patronage; however, as we were waiting to place the order, there were 2 people picking up and 3 others making orders. Pretty good sign. We spent around 10 minutes looking at the menu. The menu wasn't huge, but there were several rolls I wanted to try. We placed our order and went outside to wait. Our food was done around 20 minutes later. We ordered 4 rolls, a salad, veggie egg rolls, and soup. I felt like I was going to starve with the smells coming from the bag! Anyway, we finally got to the house and sat down to eat. The veggie rolls are great, and the salad dressing was fantastic. If you aren't a fan of sweet ginger, I would advise against it. However, I loved it. The sushi rolls were great. I really enjoyed Jim's roll. The flavors were very tasty and fresh. The eel sauce was probably my favorite. My only complaint was the size of the rolls; they really weren't very big. I wonder if it is due to it being carryout? Not sure. I will, however, return. I was very unhappy today. Because I ate Japanese ramen at this restaurant. I am not a picky person. The way they handled the problem was unacceptable to me. To put it bluntly, the ramen was super salty. The meat was super fishy and greasy. I told the waiter and the answer I got was that Japanese ramen is like that. Because I like to eat Japanese ramen, I will search for Japanese ramen restaurants wherever I go. This restaurant is not only unpalatable, but the way it solved the problem was even more ridiculous. Responding to business owners, with all the respect, there was no miscommunication with waitress. The menu was very clear. The menu is limited and overpriced for what is served. This is probably my favorite Japanese restaurant in Norman. My fiancé and I had the Tako Yaki, Dragon roll, Spiderman roll, unagi hand rolls, and curry ramen with deep fried pork. Staff was nice and friendly, and food was really good. They have military discount too! 1.Tako Yaki (appetizer) I always try Tako Yaki when I go to Japanese restaurant if they have it on their menu. Mr. Sushi's Tako yaki was a bit pricier than others because one order has 4 pieces for $5. However, the octopus inside was bigger than other restaurant has and it was delicious. 2. Dragon roll and Spiderman roll Dragon roll was okay but we loved the Spiderman roll! Both of rolls was fresh but we liked the Spiderman roll more. 3. Curry Ramen OMG. This Curry ramen is the best ramen in Oklahoma. I've been to Koro, Tamashii, and Tokyo restaurant for ramen, but this Curry ramen is the best. Definitely the worst sushi I've had in my life. I ordered take out so I don't know if the quality of dine in is better. I ordered 4 rolls and one is sadder than the next. For the salmon lover roll, they used smoked salmon instead of fresh ones. And I think some of the fish inside treasure roll isn't the freshest since it tasted kinda funny and the texture is a bit slimy. The unagi roll is smaller than the $5 roll I usually get and it costed $8. 4 rolls costed me $50 so the quality isn't justified by the price. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

If you love sushi, go here. Get the salmon (marinated or on the lemon drop roll). It's a life changing experience. I say this as someone who knows how to make sushi, has eaten sushi across the country, and had sushi made by a true Itamae. The sushi here was up there with the greats. The lemon drop roll. Salmon is hard to work with. It's so hard to get salmon that's not a punch in the face. Mr. Sushi gets the freshest salmon and then adds magic to it in the form of a quick marinade. If you like sashimi/raw fish rolls but have never had really good salmon, try this. We did get a cucumber roll; the roll you get to judge sushi rice. And their sushi rice is some of the best I've had. Great flavor and good texture. We also tried the spiderman and fisherman's roll. Both really good, but not groundbreaking like the lemon drop. Have I mentioned the lemon drop? And the final test for an Asian establishment: the tea. They use Japanese green, and it's good. The atmosphere is quiet and simple. I could see this working for a date night or fun night out. They do have a varied menu for the anti-sushi. Quick and cheap sushi. I tried the renegade roll and the spicy tuna roll. The renegade roll was very delicious and I would definitely get it again. It was also a nice size as well. The spicy tuna roll just wasn't doing it for me. The fish itself was soooo salty and luckily I don't put soy sauce on my sushi or I would've been in real trouble. This was the most enjoyable night I have had in a while. The food was outstanding!!! I had the Captain Crunch roll and my husband had the same. It was fresh, delicious and very well presented. That is the ones that didn't fall apart before the container was opened. When I ordered I was asked if I wanted the small rolls. I said no but my message must not have been taken.
