Made a take order at the counter and knew I would be waiting for a bit. The place had 1 table of four that already had eaten and no one else coming in. There was a kid running around the restaurant that was obviously one of the workers or owners child that kept showing me things they had colored . The kid was the best part of this restaurant. Waited over an hour for them to do 3 to go orders in front of me until mine came up. 8 pieces of sashimi and some edamame. They had cooked the edamame obviously when I first got there and tasted like they were the microwaved kind and they were bland and rubbery. The portion size of the sashimi is very generous but unfortunately was too big and had to cut it with a knife like a tuna steak. Overall not a good experience. read more

This is my favorite Asian food place in the area! I moved from Mustang to Yukon, but still make the drive to come here because it's so good. I love their mushroom soup, yaki soba noodles, and their hibachi fried rice. Their chicken always tastes good with the rice and noodles, but I have yet to try their sushi although I'm sure it's great. The service is always on point and they have yet to mess up any order:) My only wish is that they had fortune cookies!! read more

First visit to Hana Sushi and very pleased with the sushi rolls I got. The Hawaiian roll was fresh and light. I enjoyed having a selection with something other than the same old flavors. The coconut sauce is light and just the right amount. The LI roll was very flavorful as well and the shrimp was fresh with flavor in both rolls. The atmosphere looks and smells like sadness and neglect, but I have been surprised before so I ordered anyway. The food was sad, like really sad. The quantity of food on a sashimi bento box was mediocre at best for $22.00 and there was no flavor whatsoever. It comes with a California roll that I had to just spit out. The sashimi was definitely not sushi grade, tasted like great value frozen fish and I really wasn't sure if I should swallow that either. Service was abysmal. You are barely spoken to when you arrive. My water was empty when my food came out and I had long been finished eating before being offered a refill. Do not, I repeat, do not engage. Stay away. TLDR: Don't eat here. It looks like neglect, service is sad, and the food tastes like regret. Edit: Forgot to mention cleanliness. It has been years since eating here. Decided to give it another try on Mother's Day. The Teriyaki Bento box looked like canned dog food. The fried rice was over cooked. The raw sushi was warm. Wow, where do I begin. This was a bad experience front start to finish. Only eat here if you enjoy your cooked food being coughed and sneezed on by kitchen staff. Sushi chef had a mask on and took standard hygiene procedures. So we ate the sushi. Which had somewhat dry rice and chunks of jalapeño in it. Kitchen staff had no mask and coughed as they brought out food and were loudly sneezing in the back. When we mentioned we did not want the food from the kitchen because of this. The woman at the counter got argumentative. No apology was offered. She removed 1 of the 2 items from the kitchen after arguing. Additionally no one greeted us, checked on us or even came to give us our check. This was a very cold experience from start to finish. I'd only recommend this place if you're stopped up. Had the habachi chicken fried rice and tried their seared tuna. It was the only meal I ate today and it literally (sorry for tmi) and quickly emptied my bowels. My stomach also hurts. If it persist through the night, I'll go to the ER. Was on this side of town and craved sushi, so we thought to give this place a try. Mistakes were made. By all means, the food ended up tasting okay, thank goodness, but overall, we wouldn't go back. Upon walking in, someone behind the counter told us to sit wherever we'd like. After being seated, a child, maybe 12 or so, gave us menus and walked away. He soon came back, and asked us what we'd like to drink and if we were ready to order. We ordered the Chirashi bowl to share, because normally, at other sushi places, it's enough for me and my husband to split. When I asked, they did say it came with 15 pieces of sashimi. It also came with your choice of soup or salad. Now, here's the silly part. We waited FORTY MINUTES for the one chirashi plate. The restaurant only had three tables occupied, not busy at all. However, we did notice that they took care of the to go orders pretty promptly. So maybe a good tip would be to just order take out if you're hungry. When our food finally came out, boy, were we underwhelmed. You can see in my pictures the size of the dish, and the sizing of the sushi. Such incredibly modest cuts. It left much to be desired. However, it did taste good, hence the 3 stars. We finished eating and I was definitely still hungry. But not at all willing to wait another 40 min for food. Sad day. read more

The food was absolutely amazing, we ordered a lot of tempura items and they came out super fresh! My mouth is watering thinking about it! We visited on a Thursday at 6 and there was only one other family in the restaurant, our service was super fast and thoughtful. While se were there 3 other customers came in for pick up orders and were served immediately. Only downsides were the water tasting stale and Interior of the restaurant, it needs some updating and the benches are very uncomfortable. Came into Hana Sushi for dinner on a weekday evening, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Interior is neat and lined with wood, has a semi-classy feel. Decided to go with the Captain Crunch roll, which consists of shrimp tempura, crabstick, cucumber, and avocado with crunchy tempura flakes and sweet sauce on top. Comes with 8 pieces. I didn't find it to be particularly flavorful(although my wife enjoyed it), and definitely did not appreciate any sweetness which might be for the better when it comes to sushi. My wife got the Godzilla roll which was deep fried and tasted much better to me. Service was excellent, I believe everything is run by the family that owns it. The sushi was decent, I think it was a little expensive for the quality I got at $10 for the Captain Crunch roll and $13 for the Godzilla roll. This leads me to a 3 star for this visit. They have a happy hour lunch with cheaper prices that I'd consider coming back to try in the future especially given that this is the only sushi place in Mustang. read more

This place is family owned, and you can tell by the little touches they put on the plate. For example, my sushi roll was piled on top of a color changing, glowing block. It was a pretty cool effect. The plating was beautiful. Next time I'm going to try a roll that isn't fried. Frying sushi really turns it into mush. My other roll with eel was much more fresh tasting because the crunch was from the cucumber and not a fried outside. The fish is a much better quality than Nhinja up the road. My only complaint is that they had a child that appeared to be very young working for them. I'm not very good at guessing ages. I thought he was 10, but he could have been older. He refilled our drinks a few times. I have a huge ethical problem with child labor, even if it may technically be legal in a family owned place. I would have rated it lower for this reason alone, but this is the first sushi place my boyfriend has been willing to go back to--and that is a huge success. read more

We grabbed a fairly large large order for our "at home date night" this Saturday and Hana Sushi did not disappoint! While I did not go inside and my husband said the interior could use some updating- the food was phenomenal! Having just moved to OK and trying Hana Sushi for the first time, we definitely will use this as our go-to sushi place! We ordered Gyoza (steamed) and they were great. We also got the Spicy Cowboy and Hawaiian Rolls and I would truly recommend both. I have never had something like the Hawaiian roll and it was sweet, but add a little soy and it's perfect! The Spicy Cowboy was just spicy enough and even after ordering/going to pick up/driving home the tempura shrimp at the center of the roll was STILL CRUNCHY. Being the people we are, we also ordered the mushroom soup and a Chicken Katsu bento. All tempura made it home fresh/crunchy, the Katsu BBQ sauce wasn't too sweet NOR too peppery, properly cooked rice, etc... With the two appetizers, two rolls, bento box, and Ramune Soda we barely broke $50 and had MORE than enough food for the evening. I tried this place and enjoyed their sushi, location in Mustang, and price. I ordered takeout and waited the amount of time they told me before heading there to pick it up. Once there I was told it wasn't ready and had to wait there longer. While waiting I was able to observe an upset patron dining in and heard that their table had been there for over an hour and water had not been refilled or food served. Since I was waiting longer that expected I decided to read the reviews for this restaurant and saw that, that woman and I weren't the only ones that have experienced the lack of service and timeliness. Cut to today...I decided I wanted sushi for dinner. I ordered 3 rolls and soup and ordered take out. I waited the amount of time they told me and decided because of the reviews and experience the last time that I would double the amount of time they told me before heading down there. I live in Mustang and gave them 30 minutes to get the food ready. Once I arrived I noticed one occupied table in the dining room. The young boy was making sushi behind the bar and the middle aged woman was taking a video of her baby. They had one server. I had to get the woman's attention and told her I was there to pick up my order. She asked what name and I told her no one took my name on the phone. I told her what I ordered and she rang me up. I was smarter this time because I pushed asking if the food was ready before paying. She went to the kitchen and spoke in another language. She came back out and again told me the price and I again asked if it was ready. She said 10 more minutes...I told her no I would not wait any longer. I gave them double the amount of time they told me and I was not going to wait 40 minutes for my food. I left. I will give them another try once I am ready to try them again and hope for a better experience because if its another bad one I will not be coming back here. read more
