Stopped here for dinner as I was hungry for some sashimi and hibachi stir fry vegetables, service was good and so was the food. I had the Tuna Sashimi and my hibachi vegetables came with steamed rice, soup and a small salad, they had lots of great menu options for all kinds of appetites and plenty of vegetarian options. Worth trying if you like Japanese cuisine.

I dropped in on my way to court in Canadian County because I was starving. I started with Toko-Yaki which is a special dumpling with octopus that is breaded and deep-fried. It's really good and comes with 6, with a soy-based sweet sauce and Sriracha mayo but quite frankly, three was enough for me). I also got the edamame.,I really like edamame and they did a good job. I also ordered a glass of Prosecco and it was nice

Very good food and friendly folks working here. I enjoy a good hibachi cooked on the grill in front of me every once in a while. But, sometimes I just enjoy to order the food and enjoy the company I am with. You can get both here. Menu items are great. Large helpings with generous portions of meat and vegetables. I haven't had the chance to experience the sushi. They seem to have quite the assortment. Maybe next time? If you are in the mood for a cocktail, they have a pretty good set up. Sake, Japanese Whiskey, Japanese beer, and a laundry list of domestic alcohol. Beer is a little limited, but, you can find something you enjoy. Restaurant seems clean, and it's fairly quiet. No need to raise your voice to talk. Busier times can be a little noisy, but, it's fun. I'll return again.

If you can't fix the TP holder and paint, what doesn't the kitchen look like?

It makes an entrance like it already knows you are going to talk about it later. The spice had attitude without turning into a stunt. Enough kick to wake everything up. Enough balance to keep it delicious instead of chaotic. Very confident. Very "I did not come here to be background sushi." The beef negimaki was absolutely the star. No debate. Tender. Savory. Glossy in that rich, almost dramatic way that makes you take one bite and immediately start guarding your plate. It had that perfect sweet-salty balance that makes a dish feel expensive even when you are trying to act casual about it. This was not just good. This was the kind of dish that makes the rest of the table look around like, wait, did we all order wrong? Full main character energy. Full Beyoncé walking on stage and everybody else suddenly remembering they are the opening act. The spicy tuna roll was fresh in the way you actually want sushi to be fresh. Clean flavor. Bright. Cool. Nicely balanced. Nothing fishy. Nothing tired. Just a roll that understood the assignment and executed. It did not need to be flashy because the freshness was doing all the talking. Very dependable. Very polished. The kind of bite that quietly reminds you why classics stay classics. And the staff? Amazing is actually the correct word. Warm from the start. Attentive the whole way through. On point without hovering. They made the entire experience feel easy, which is a real skill and not everybody has it. They were present. Helpful. Smooth. The kind of team that can make a dinner go from good to excellent just by knowing how to read the room. Real hospitality. Not fake nice. Not robotic. Just people who clearly know what they are doing and know how to make guests feel taken care of. Honestly, the staff were moving like a seasoned ensemble cast. Tight timing. Strong chemistry. No weak links. The atmosphere helped too. Lively without being too much. Comfortable without feeling boring. The kind of place where you can have a casual dinner, a cute date, or one of those meals where you say you are just grabbing something quick and then somehow stay way longer than planned. Good energy. Good flow. No weirdness. Just a room that knows how to hold a night together. it's giving... The Bear if Richie ran front of house and Beyoncé ordered the beef negimaki.

To share we got the crunchy rice tuna and the blossom roll with a mix of the fish options (like a rainbow roll). The crunchy rice tuna has such a nice combination of textures with a little crunch from the rice and creaminess from the avocado and fish. The roll was delicious. Fresh fish, the rice in the roll was just as it should be-not too mushy (a problem I find with a lot of sushi places I've tried in Oklahoma) or too firm. For myself I got the sashimi tasting which was an absolutely delicious assortment of seafood. All of the pieces were well seasoned and tasted fresh. My husband got the fried chicken and sukiyaki. He was very pleased with both. As a bonus I got a cheesecake because we were celebrating my birthday and they gave us each a shot. I appreciate that they gave me a non-alcoholic shot since I don't drink alcohol. Overall the food was fantastic and the service was great but it comes with a corresponding price tag. Was it worth it? In my opinion, yes, most definitely. I will say though that if you don't care for seafood there are options for you, but you likely won't appreciate this place nearly as much as someone who does.

One of our friends ordered the sushi set as his entree, which comes with 5 pieces of nigiri and a sushi roll. He only got the nigiri (salmon, regular tuna, mackerel, and 2 tamago nigiri). When we brought it to one of the servers attention, she told us it was an either/or option. After talking with other friends, they told us they received both, and the nigiri was higher quality, like toro. Three of our friends ordered the pork katsu. One of the katsus was brought out early and the other two took some time. After the other two katsus came out, it was noticeable that the first one was probably refried, which made us think it was old and they didn't want to waste it. We also learned that our other friends said that when they went, the server told them that if there was anything they liked, they could ask for more to be brought to the table. Our server did not tell us this. And the sad part is that they actually took some dishes away from the buffet and didn't refill it, which was the salmon sashimi. Overall, I feel like the experience was disappointing and the advertising was misleading. There wasn't much fresh fish available, as one might think. Sounds like service isn't equal and great across the board. Some friends enjoyed the weekend lunch buffet, some other friends had the same experience we did.

What really sets Ichiban apart, though, is the customer service. One time, I went in to pick up my order and the employee asked if I wanted to redeem one of my punch cards for a free bowl. I had completely forgotten I even had them! It turned out I had two full cards, and without me even asking, they let me redeem both and gave me two free bowls. Another time, our daughter puked all over the table out of nowhere. The server was so sweet and kind. She tried to clean it but there was no way we were going to let her do that. She brought us every thing we asked for and we cleaned it up. She even brought our daughter something to settle her tummy. Today, I accidentally placed my online order at the wrong location. I called as soon as I realized my mistake, and the employee immediately offered to contact the correct location for me. He took care of everything and told me my order would be ready in about ten minutes. Mind-you, these things happened at three different locations. This is one of those rare restaurants where you truly don't mind waiting if they're busy because you know the food and the service are always worth it.
