Its not easy to impress me. However, my concept of Thai Food has not always been very good from the Asain Foods perspective. Having said that. One of the medical friends I have suggested to me about 6 months ago that I try a Thai restaurant called PANANG. PANANG Restaraunts at least the 2 ive enjoyed, serve the absolute freshest, flavorful Asain foods I've ever eaten. It is a Religious experience. Great flavors, super presentation, flavor profiles fit for Royalty. If you crave wonderful flavor away from the typical Chinese restaurants. Try Panang Thai Restaurant. To me it seems they have studied well how to present the best of all food worlds. Looks, presentation, flavor, perfected sauces, great combinations. I believe you'll enjoy this restaurant group as much as any you call your favorite. The spring Rolls, Shrimp Rolls etc. are some of the best. I especially love their Peanut Sauce with their Spring Rolls and Shrimp Rolls. Ive tried several dishes and have not found one I didnt love. If it were kosher, I moan while eating there. Great food. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Came here while visiting Norman after my daughter recommended it. The menu had a lot of options including vegetarian and gluten free. I was even given the option for how much spice I wanted on my food. My table ordered pad Thai, lemongrass, stirfry, fried egg, noodles, and crispy spring rolls. Everything came out very hot and it was all very good. Everyone of us loved our dishes. But I was not expecting was the amount of food that they gave us. We could've easily split an entrée between two people. If you are looking for delicious food in a quiet setting that is budget friendly this is the place. Normally I go to the Moore location it was my first time dining in the Norman location... the spring rolls came with the peanut sauce that I have never seen like this before. It was hot and oily and not very appetizing... I got the pad see ew noodles the chicken is a little dry but the overall flavor was great. The other dish was a spicy dish and not very much beef was in the dish. Overall the flavor and the portions are always great. We did realize after that spice level was not asked. Service was good. $50 for our meals pictured plus a side of white rice and drinks. It was dusty on the ceiling fans and air vents just something we noticed. read more

Great food, and the service was very friendly! We stopped in on our way through town, and were not disappointed. We were seated immediately, and our drink order was taken soon after. We ordered the Thai tea and it was delicious! Our food came out pretty quickly and was piping hot. We all ordered different types of fried rice. We got the crab meat fried rice, spicy basil with chicken and shrimp, and the pineapple with shrimp and crab. They were all SO good. Everything tasted fresh and had plenty of the chosen protein. Norman isn't lacking Thai cuisine, but I still love the addition of Panang to our community. Panang8 offers a similar menu to the other Panang locations, and our usual go to's (pad Thai, pad see ew, spicy catfish, various fried rice dishes) are always great and delicious. We dined in the other night for the first time and got to try their special menu items. I tried the khao soi, and my partner tried their sukiyaki in soup. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful, although I wouldn't mind more spices to the khao soi! We also got their calamari appetizer which was quite a lot for the two of us. The service was very quick, and they were extremely friendly. The location is also pretty convenient although can be hard to tell the restaurant is there unless you're driving through the shopping center yourself. We will definitely continue visiting Panang8 now that it's just a short drive away! read more

I have been to a lot of Thai places in Norman but this one stands above the rest. The hostess if you dine in is a very sweet lady who will take great care of you. Love the chili chicken, any of their curries, and of course the pad Thai noodles. Everything has a delicious flavor and is made with quality ingredients. I ordered from Uber Eats and had delivered to my hotel and I specifically checked the box to request utensils which you shouldn't have to do for the price they can afford a plastic fork. But when my food arrived I didn't have anything to eat with and no napkins. So I had to pick up my Pad Thai and eat it with my fingers and use Kleenex from the hotel bathroom for napkins. I am very glad that this restaurant, which I used to have to travel to Moore to enjoy, is now in Norman. I go regularly, usually for the fabulous Lunch Special. So much food, I always take it home for a full meal the next day! There are different combinations for different days of the week, Monday through Friday (shown on the back of the menu). My favorite is on Friday, which has eggplant stir-fry that I combine with pad Thai noodles. Delicious! While I usually would rather not have TV in a restaurant, there is a TV on mute in the corner which is always showing how to make Asian food. I find it kind of interesting to watch the intricacies of how to make some of these unusual dishes. read more

Ordered the spicy chicken basil noodles and couldn't even swallow the first bite the smell of rotten chicken made me sick to my stomach. My partner ordered the green curry and it was okay and when the older middle aged waitress returned she refused to take the food back and made a very rude remark about how the food wasn't for testing and returning. I was today years old when I realized there is a Panang Thai Restaurant in Norman. We've enjoyed the Moore location for a few years now. The restaurant has a simple, clean, and soothing atmosphere with some beautiful prints of Thailand on the walls. The chicken satay, spring rolls, curries, and Chu chee salmon were all incredible with a great balance of flavor and spice. The peanut sauce and the spring roll sauce were perfect complements. Panang 8 is so good. I always get their Pad Thai and it always hits the spot. It is very saucy and has great flavor. The portions are massive and service is unbelievably quick.
