Thankfully, to-go is still great because they have wonderful packaging to keep everything separate and fresh on the ride home. It's the best bowl of ramen in Norman by far and well worth the visit.

What really sets Ichiban apart, though, is the customer service. One time, I went in to pick up my order and the employee asked if I wanted to redeem one of my punch cards for a free bowl. I had completely forgotten I even had them! It turned out I had two full cards, and without me even asking, they let me redeem both and gave me two free bowls. Another time, our daughter puked all over the table out of nowhere. The server was so sweet and kind. She tried to clean it but there was no way we were going to let her do that. She brought us every thing we asked for and we cleaned it up. She even brought our daughter something to settle her tummy. Today, I accidentally placed my online order at the wrong location. I called as soon as I realized my mistake, and the employee immediately offered to contact the correct location for me. He took care of everything and told me my order would be ready in about ten minutes. Mind-you, these things happened at three different locations. I ordered the Hawaii Roll, which is described on the menu as "spicy kani, mango, shrimp, avocado, in soy paper." The photos online and on Yelp also show the roll wrapped in pink soy paper. However, when I got home, my roll looked completely different and was wrapped in green lettuce instead. I honestly thought I received the wrong order. When I called the restaurant, the employee immediately knew who I was and apologized, saying they ran out of soy paper and substituted lettuce without informing me beforehand. She also claimed it was "the exact same thing," but soy paper and lettuce are clearly not the same ingredient. They have completely different texture, taste, and presentation. I understand restaurants can run out of ingredients, but customers should absolutely be told before substitutions are made -- especially when the menu specifically advertises soy paper and the dish ends up looking completely different from the photos online.
