    Chicken korma

This restaurant has an elevated aesthetic with the beautiful lighting. The hosts are very attentive and made great suggestions. For an appetizer I ordered garlic naan .The garlic naan was delicious. For an entree I ordered chicken korma. The chicken was so flavorful and tender. I would definitely order it again. For my spirit of the night there was a coconut cocktail. That was very rich in flavor and paired well with the chicken korma.

I found this relatively new Indian restaurant during the Nyack street fair, where they set up a stall to sell samosas, palak paneer and chana masala. My husband and I came to dinner recently. It is housed in a large space (that used to be some kind of burger joint), with a semi-open kitchen, a full bar and lots of tables. For appetizer we asked for their chili cauliflower. For my dairy-intolerant vegetarian diet, the waitress patiently explained the ingredients of all the options, and we chose Mushroom Hara pyaaz and Martban ke Choley, a chickpea stew that came in a mysterious clay pot :-). The cauliflower was crispy batter fried, dowsed in a tangy sweet and sour and spicy sauce, truly tasty! The mushroom hara pyaaz was the champion of the meal - all familiar flavors yet unique and memorable - comfort and satisfaction rolled in one. The chickpeas were less well-cooked, a bit more al dente, than the usual Indian fare that we have been exposed to, but still very nice. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive, and the bill was quite reasonable. We'll definitely come back.

Great good, service and music at Tamarind. We loved the cauliflower dish and chicken kebabs - definitely ask for some heat because they bring it! Wine selection is good with a great price point. Definitely will be back!

Big restaurant, pretty empty but we ate early dinner. Food was good. service was good though server did get confused with our wine orders.

The ambiance was pleasant, and I really liked the decor. They've made quite a few changes from the previous restaurant. With the open floor plan, the noise carried across the room, which was expected. Service was a little slow, but understandable since they're short-staffed and just opened a week ago--we didn't mind the wait. The food and drinks were unique, offering northern cuisine with a twist. We enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Highly recommend giving it a try!

This is a beautiful and clean place with really flavorful food! Everything tasted different and fresh, staff were very helpful and open to making a change to a drink I wanted to order. Dessert reminded me of home. I'll definitely be going back there!

    Lamb shank

Tamarind in Nyack exceeded every expectation. I came in curious after hearing buzz around town, and left genuinely impressed. I ordered the Rogani Nalli (lamb shank) and it was outstanding -- fall-off-the-bone tender, rich with slow-braised depth, and layered with flavor from the perfectly spiced gravy. The portion was generous without being overwhelming, and the plating had that elevated feel you don't always find in traditional Indian spots. This isn't just comfort food -- it's elevated, elegant, and still deeply satisfying. To drink, I tried their signature colada, which was bright, tropical, and beautifully balanced -- not overly sweet, and paired surprisingly well with the richness of the lamb. The attention to cocktail craft here is no afterthought; it's clearly part of the overall experience. Service was warm, professional, and never intrusive. The space itself is modern and inviting, with just enough intimacy for a dinner you'll remember. Didn't get to dessert this time, but I'll be back for sure. Tamarind is a welcome addition to Nyack's food scene -- upscale but unpretentious, bold but refined. Highly recommended.

Ambience is really nice. It has a huge space and nicely decorated. Clean and comfortable space.

Excellent service. The restaurant was clean, well lit, and spacious. I ordered a dal salad, which I really wasn't a fan of. The service noticed I didn't like it and offered to replace it with something else. I insisted no but they were really nice about it. I ended up replacing it with potato chaat which was a perfect mixture of savory, tangy, and sweet. What I really loved was the meen moilee, a coconut curry with fish. The curry was extremely flavorful, buttery, and creamy. The paratha also was delicious. Perfectly cooked, flaky, buttery. I would definitely come back.

At no point were we told that your restaurant could not safely accommodate her allergy, nor were we advised that we should not dine there because of the risk. We certainly were not presented with the conversation you are now describing as though we knowingly disregarded a clear warning and chose to proceed anyway. Had we been told that our daughter's allergy could not be safely accommodated, we would have left. Her safety is obviously more important than having dinner at any restaurant. What is especially troubling is that, despite notifying your staff of her peanut allergy, our daughter experienced an allergic reaction while dining at your establishment. That was the reason I had to leave abruptly. Trying to redirect the focus onto the fact that your kitchen uses third-party products or has a risk of cross-contamination does not change the fact that your staff was informed of her allergy before she was served. Regarding the service, reviewing timestamps on security footage does not capture the attentiveness, communication, delays, or overall quality of service at our table. And regarding the bill: I never stated that an employee walked up to me and verbally accused us of not paying. My concern was the manner in which my husband was treated after I suddenly had to leave with our daughter because she was having an allergic reaction. I had no reason to fabricate the negative portions of our experience. I would have much preferred for your response to simply acknowledge that a child with a disclosed peanut allergy experienced a reaction in your restaurant. Instead, your response appears focused on disputing our experience and placing responsibility back on us. That is disappointing and, frankly, reinforces my concerns about how this situation was handled. Previous Review: The food was delicious and beautifully presented, which unfortunately made the rest of our experience even more disappointing. Service throughout the meal was quite slow, but the most concerning issue occurred after our daughter experienced an allergic reaction. We had specifically informed our waiter that she has a peanut allergy, so having her develop a reaction during the meal was extremely alarming. Because of the situation, I had to leave the restaurant urgently with our daughter while my husband remained behind. What was particularly upsetting was the way the staff behaved afterward, seemingly concerned that we were attempting to leave without paying the bill. In the middle of dealing with our child having an allergic reaction, being treated as though we might skip out on the bill was incredibly upsetting, unprofessional, and frankly disturbing. Of course the bill was going to be paid. Our immediate priority in that moment was making sure our daughter was safe. While the food itself was excellent, restaurants have a responsibility to take food allergies seriously and to respond with professionalism and compassion when a medical situation occurs. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled overshadowed what otherwise could have been a very enjoyable dining experience.

I decided to use an online ordering platform and systematically went through the menu, carefully ordering a quantity of two for three completely distinct items. I was hungry, I was prepared for leftovers, and I was expecting a feast. Instead, what arrived at my doorstep was a cruel, half-rationed mystery box containing exactly one of each item. It was a 50% discount on my appetite that I never asked for. Naturally, I called the restaurant to figure out if quantum physics had somehow affected my takeout bag, only to receive a customer service response for the history books. When I questioned them about the missing halves of my order, the employee sighed, offered a half-hearted "sorry," and completely unspooled the inner workings of their establishment with this gem: "We have a new employee who, if I had to guess, doesn't know how to count." Just let that sink in. Not "we'll refund you," not "let me check the kitchen tickets," but a casual, philosophical confession that they employ staff members who haven't quite mastered basic kindergarten arithmetic. Bravo to Indian Curry Kitchen for serving up delicious food alongside an open-admission policy for people who struggle with the number two.

Beautiful music was playing at the perfect volume. We ordered the vegetable pakor as an appetizer, and shared the beef vindaloo medium spice and saag paneer high spice. The paneer was mild in flavor and less spicy than the vindaloo unless you ate a bite of green pepper. This is my first time ordering beef vindaloo instead of lamb so it was nice to taste the flavors that usually are overpowered by lamb. The food came with a big bowl of basmati rice and we ordered garlic and rosemary garlic naan. The rosemary was delicious on its own but I couldn't really taste it when eaten with the vindaloo. Finally, I got a masala chai and it was so delicious, and the gulab jamoon for dessert. Now on to the criticism... the service is not that great, we were seated and given menus, but we had to get our own utensils. This is not really a full service type of establishment, you pay at the register. They could use more efficient expediting, and then things would feel more welcoming. The second thing I was disappointed with, was one of the reasons we came here was for the Masala Dosa. They started off by saying no Dosa and no Biriyani available. We saw a couple walk out because there was no Dosa. We improvised our order to things we weren't too excited about ordering, but both the beef curry and the butter chicken were tasty. The next thing that will prevent us from coming here for dine- in, in the future is the horrible smell in the bathroom and the temperature of the restaurant. We wanted to wash up before our meal, but the smell in the bathroom was gross. It looked clean, but there was definitely an odor. It was 42 F outside and the air conditioning was blasting cold air. I asked twice to shut it off because my kids were freezing and I was cold too, but it looked like all they were able to do was raise the temperature on the unit which helped only minimally. Really good food, but I think they will need to find a way to address some of the other issues
