I recently ordered from Indian Curry Kitchen in Valley Cottage, and let me tell you, the food actually tasted great--which somehow makes this entire psychological thriller of an experience infinitely worse. I decided to use an online ordering platform and systematically went through the menu, carefully ordering a quantity of two for three completely distinct items. I was hungry, I was prepared for leftovers, and I was expecting a feast. Instead, what arrived at my doorstep was a cruel, half-rationed mystery box containing exactly one of each item. It was a 50% discount on my appetite that I never asked for. Naturally, I called the restaurant to figure out if quantum physics had somehow affected my takeout bag, only to receive a customer service response for the history books. When I questioned them about the missing halves of my order, the employee sighed, offered a half-hearted "sorry," and completely unspooled the inner workings of their establishment with this gem: "We have a new employee who, if I had to guess, doesn't know how to count." Just let that sink in. Not "we'll refund you," not "let me check the kitchen tickets," but a casual, philosophical confession that they employ staff members who haven't quite mastered basic kindergarten arithmetic. Bravo to Indian Curry Kitchen for serving up delicious food alongside an open-admission policy for people who struggle with the number two. read more

Never eaten here but stay away from this place, 16,health violation in dec, reduced to 9 in January of this year, would not step foot in this place ever, go to Bombay grill in new city or tulsi in Nanuet both clean and great food , I know both the owners of this two great places. read more

Big surprise absolutely delicious. My spouse is Indian and we've traveled there numerous times so although we're no food critics, it gaskets like we were at my MIL. Big better It's Southern Indian, super fresh and really delicious. It's pick up or delivery only. Don't be taken aback by the lack fancy decor. read more

This place perfects Kerala Cuisine. I always order the Kuppa Biriyani (Erachi) & it always comes out perfect. Certain foods and smells reminds you of your childhood and this dish is it. Just ordered here for a coworker's birthday lunch. It was very good with great service! I ordered the onion pakora for appetizer, had really great flavor. For the main entree I got the garlic naan and paneer tikka masala. So delicious! They gave lots of paneer pieces in a yummy, creamy curry. One order of naan is 4 pieces. One order of curry was also a big size. I shared with someone else and we have enough left for lunch tomorrow Everyone really enjoyed their food! One person doesn't like spice and they were very accommodating to this.. she ended up loving her dish! There's only a couple tables inside to eat on, so this is more for takeout. It's in a small plaza, so not too much parking, but not bad around lunch time. We will definitely be ordering from here again! Update: Had this at a family member's house on a Sunday night.. wasn't as good as the lunch previously Might be just good for lunch when you can order a couple hours beforehand. read more

Being from Kerala, having this take out Indian restaurant is a great option for me. I am a Big Fan of the egg puff, Kappa and Kerala fish curry here. Not too spicy but just enough for my liking. I have ordered from here a few times now and so far I am happy. Will try some of the other dishes but as for a take-out Indian food place, this is not bad. I did try the egg curry but fell a little short on flavor but that's me comparing it to how my Mom used to cook it. Chicken biryani was terrible. Chicken was old and felt like rubber. Their quality of food was gone down recently. Maybe it is new management or new chef, but it is very disappointing. They got to do better than this. Please do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from here, EVER! read more

This is the second time we are trying this restaurant. The first time was more than a year ago and they had set the standard so high. The food tasted excellent at that time that we told several people about it. We were too excited to try it again when we were back in town and boy, the was it a stark difference from the past experience. As another reviewer had stated the quality of the food has gone down significantly. The beef tasted funny that we had to throw it out. The butter chicken was so so. Porotta was decent. The mutton tasted good when it is very hot, once it's warm the funky taste comes out. Whatever changes they made is not for the better. Please improve upon your food quality, as people can pick up on poor quality. read more

Wow. Wasn't expecting much at first. I just wanted something to go that wasn't pizza or Chinese for a change. I placed my order and came back about 30 mins later to pick it up as I was told that it would take about 40 minutes to make. I wasn't thrilled about not eating right away but I had committed to it at that point. I picked it up and could barely wait to tear open the plastic bag. The smell was so strong and aromatic. I got home and immediately opened all the plastic lids and tore into my meals. I ate until I couldn't move. The food is fresh and plentiful. I cannot wait to try more plates on the menu. Delivery took a while, and 5$ fee is a little ridiculous in a town of free delivery, but food was good. I ordered everything as 'extra spicy', I get that it's Americanized but still just really lacked that kick you expect with good Indian food. I love this place, it is great. Simple storefront operation, but the kitchen is superb. Everything is freshly made from fresh ingredients, expertly prepared with real care. My family and I have had quite a variety of dishes, and every one is a new delight. I eat meat but my wife and kid are vegetarians, and we all love this place. Goat Rogan Gosh is a favorite of mine. Lamb Tikka Masala, super. Yesterday we tried Pakora, and boom, new favorite. Even basic things, like the vegetable rice, are just awesome. It's a nice family business too.
