I'm surprised to be the first one to review this park. It's a wonderful little park that I visit every other day! And it seems like I'm not the only visitor here either. Especially during the hot summers, I notice packs of cars coming into the parking lot and all the drivers are chillin and sleeping in their cars. I think they all come here on their break to take a little nap because the parking lot is totally encapsulated by large trees. I see everyone from the police, Fedex, ambulance guys, time warner guys, public works guys, all come here to take a break. At around 5:30pm, the park teems to life with all the softball activities going on. Kids are playing on the basketball courts, which by the way are in very good shape. Full size basketball courts. I wish they had more of them though. On evenings, it can get crowded here. Mothers come with their small children in the middle of the day to let their kids run around and play at the playground. I think it's the perfect all around neighborhood park that really serves the communities' needs very well. It is well groomed and maintained. As a Brea resident, I think my tax dollars are very well utilized here.

Of all the parks that I've played softball at this is one of my least favorite places. Though it's close to home, the quality of the fields are always inconsistent. From what I understand the park is city owned and managed by employees of the city. The fields are hardly maintained. The chalk lines are never drawn on the field and there are countless amounts of potholes that I am always landing in. I get anxiety playing on this field due to the fact that I've resprained and irritated a sprain injury on this field many a time. Overall, I believe this park is okay. There are operating restrooms and a jungle gym area for the kids to play on next to a set of two basketball hoops for the adults. Limited seating, so don't plan for a picnic here.

It is an ok park for the kids with really only 2 concerns for me first the sand and the play area is a little bit dirty probably hasn't been cleaned up in a week or two and by that I mean trash papers, cups, there is little debris that's not part of the Sandpit area and the second is a lack of day fence on the street side that is relatively close to the playground although my kids are little bit older it would only take a second for somebody to not pay attention and a small child could be in traffic the addition of just a fence would make this a five-star for me it is a nice little park to just let the kids run for a minute

Great lighting even for an evening pickup game of basketball with the gang!

Really love this park. It's small and the restrooms are always decent. Also has plenty of parental support for the kids.

The playgrounds are so much fun for our kids and it is also a great space for picnics too. There is a lot of parking here and it's never too busy. Only downside is that you have to pay $3 to $5 to get in but it is well worth it. Definitely one of our top favorite parks to bring the family.

The display also showed $5 for weekends and $3 midweek. We wanted to do the Redwood trail and were directed to parking lot A. The park is big and beautifully landscaped with a pond and various picnic areas that can be rented in advance. There is enough space to set up all kinds of games. We brought a picnic lunch and sat on a bench that was perfectly situated alone amongst the desert plants. After lunch, we followed the signs for the Redwood Grove Trail which was labeled as easy and is a 1.5 miles dirt trail to the Redwood trees. When you arrive you'll see a small Redwood forest with the history of the trees displayed before you enter. A really beautiful and peaceful spot to relax for a bit. On our way back we decided to take the Creek Trail to see where it would lead us. I was hoping to see water at the end of this trail. But, we only saw a bunch of rocks at one point that may be filled with water if it rains. The end of this trail did lead us to a beautiful butterfly garden and the opposite end of the park. We made the walk back and stopped at the pond. There appeared to be other trails surrounding the park and a trail that leads to the Carbon Canyon Dam.

Parking is in front near the entrance, weekdays it's $4 /hr but free on the weekends. Admission is just a $5 suggested donation to support the arboretum. I arrived within the first half hour after opening to try and beat the heat. Even though it was still warm, there were plenty of shaded areas to stay cool along with benches that were great for relaxing. There was also a breeze so that helped. Thought about spending an hour there but glad I paid for two hours of parking because I ended up staying for 1 & 1/2 hours. One of my favorite moments were simply sitting on a bench listening to all the birds. Hopefully you can hear them on the video. This is a peaceful place to unwind and definitely encourage you to visit.

I came on a really hot day, so I only saw about half of the place, but it was such a nice time by the ponds, creeks, and little lake. Beautiful wildlife to admire, too -- turtles, ducks, fish, and tons of dragonflies and other lovely creatures peacefully about. We spent a lot of time admiring a group of docile ducks and enjoying the shade by the water. They also have an online plant shop for those interested in gardening (with a great ongoing deal). Planning on purchasing from there and picking up so I have an excuse to stop by again. Loved my time here. Expect to enjoy yours too!

Such a lovely park, beautiful and calming. They have enough parking, they do games on the field too. They have a playground for older and younger kids, they also have an area down below you can have birthday's and you can ride around if you want too. I love this park it's sweet and everyone is always friendly here. Yesterday met our friend she met when she was around 2 years old, was nice to see them and let our kids play. It was such a beautiful night too. Calming breeze with the sun setting i got some beautiful pictures too. Baby girl and her friend got to play for a couple hours and met some friends too. Always nice kids at this park, they had fun. Except a little boy they were playing with ran off and the Mom wasn't paying attention and i physically could not chase him so I had baby girl try to catch him but then he just kept running further away. We told the Mom and she ran to try and find him was a bit nerve wrecking thinking this little boy was lost he ran through the bushes and then baby girl spotted him at the top of the hill where houses were thank God and the Mom ran over and got him. I can only imagine her scare i would have ran after him if I could but couldn't thank God baby girl spotted him though. After that the kids played a bit longer and I was able to catch a bit of the sunset :) Thank you for keeping this park so nice and pretty and all the friendly people that come here such great memories at this park watching baby girl grow up. Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha
